So put in pto and cancel it after the What is best in life Gonani shirt Besides,I will do this schedule comes out. You can request pto for hours you don’t have yet. Our store hasn’t been approving unpaid time off for awhile now. I am on two unpaid days (even though I have plenty of pto hours but want to save them) right now that were approved with pto I canceled Sunday night. Even if the schedule is out, if you cancel the request more than 24 hours before the day the request is for then they’d be allowed to add you onto the schedule since you’d be showing as available if they happen to check who they can add at that point. Best to cancel it the day before, or get it approved as unpaid from the start. If your store tries to go against company policy as well and won’t approve it as unpaid, then try showing them the policy about it and go up the chain of command

However no they are not allowed to do this, it against policy, but no one follows this policy. Regional tells us to do the What is best in life Gonani shirt Besides,I will do this same thing. “Too many people are asking for time off.” Hire more people then. It’s not like they can’t just hire temporary/part time employees to fill in the gaps. I thought Walmart managers were generally cheapskates anyway? What better way to cut costs than letting people take unpaid time off? Sounds to me like OP’s managers just want their associates to suffer. “too many people are asking for time off.” Would be coverage based. which is allowed. If youre area has 7 people and 4 people ask for it off than you only have 3 people sceduled. time off works on a first come first serve basis in most stores, thats why i always ask for days off when they become available 6 months ahead of time
