Not going to pretend they’re the We’ve Got No Food We’ve Got No Jobs Out Pet’s Heads Are Fallin’ Off Parrot Shirt Additionally,I will love this most amazing companies but people do tend to forget things, not look at anything but headlines and shout and cry. Both Sainsburies and Waitrose (maybe others but these I know off) have shown to swallow a lot of costs during the first 18 months of the war of increased costs preventing prices from rising even further and making s loss on a lot of items. I’d say they deserve some profit as well. Their profit margin was 8% last year (sainsburys). Also they still raise prices in line with costs so not raising wages in line with that is still taking money put of peoples pockets. Qatar arnt well know for fair wages. I want them to raise salaries in line with inflation, the same way I want my company to and the millions of others that haven’t. But there’s a loop there, we got to a point recently where inflation was becoming an actual concern and here’s how that perpetuates.

We’ve Got No Food We’ve Got No Jobs Out Pet’s Heads Are Fallin’ Off Parrot Shirt- About us

Inflation – salaries raise – companies charge more because they still have shareholders to appease – inflation – salaries raise… On and on. I feel this option never accurately conveys my intent and I spend a good few seconds looking the We’ve Got No Food We’ve Got No Jobs Out Pet’s Heads Are Fallin’ Off Parrot Shirt Additionally,I will love this “FUCK OFF” button. So they can probably take the credit from your donations and also minus off the processing fee and their commission too. Nonsense. They don’t benefit as it isn’t their donation, it is yours. It is a pass through, this myth needs to die. People who know nothing about companies or economics like to think these grocery companies are rolling in money when in reality they are on razor thin margins that need extreme care to prevent bankruptcy. Edit, the idiots commenting and downvoting this utterly prove my point, but never let facts get in the way of feelings on Reddit. My friend who was a business owner put it best: “People hear about how much money you have coming in and assume you must be rich. They don’t see how much you have going out to keep the money coming in” Supermarkets can only exist because we need to buy for so regularly so 2% profit is sustainable. If they were to stop tomorrow we would all be moaning food had got to expensive.
If it’s farmers complaining supermarkets are ripping them off I have more sympathy because supermarkets do push the We’ve Got No Food We’ve Got No Jobs Out Pet’s Heads Are Fallin’ Off Parrot Shirt Additionally,I will love this farmers to be more competitive for us consumers. I am not denying food is expensive or saying supermarkets are benevolent. They definitely are not but you are right people (on Reddit at least) really don’t seem to understand the realities or either ruining a business or how supermarkets operate. Reddit is a mixture of very young, very opinionated, often anti capitalist people, which means they basically never understand business and how it works. Yea, don’t get me wrong I definitely think there are issues with extreme types of capitalism but we really don’t appreciate the variety of food we have available because of the system we live in or the cheap cost (comparatively).

How to buy this We’ve Got No Food We’ve Got No Jobs Out Pet’s Heads Are Fallin’ Off Parrot Shirt

Their latest interim results published on their website show profit before tax of £1.2b against revenue of £34.1b, so 5% profit on sales, I guess more like 4% after tax. The whole premise of the We’ve Got No Food We’ve Got No Jobs Out Pet’s Heads Are Fallin’ Off Parrot Shirt Additionally,I will love this industry is to keep margins low but make buckets of profits due to scale. Slim margins on high volumes is their commercial model. The shareholders are doing fine without your bleeding heart. While the 2023 earnings report isn’t out yet and won’t be for a few months lets take a look at the 2022 earnings report shall we. So how you figure “they make fuck all profit” is unknown to me but if a few billion is fuck all to you feel free to share some of that with the rest of us please bud. 2.56 Billion is fuck all when it’s a 2% profit rate. If I said to you “alright mate I’ve got this fantastic investment, you give £10,000 rn and in a year I’ll give your £10000 and a whole £20”. You would tell me to jog on. Ok the maths is wrong but that aside, that’s not what Tesco do is it? They don’t shell out billions to make 2% a year later. They pay creditors with the money they have in cash flow. For your analogy to be correct it would be; “in a year I’ll give you £10,200 but you have to give £10,000 away and you keep £200” No, because they are talking about it being an investment. 2% is low when you can get 4% or more interest just by leaving it in a savings account.
Yeah but if you did donate that 30p I bet they’d add it to Tesco’s annual donation figure and make it look like they’re giving sooo much to charity and STILL making record profits! Dev: “would you like to give your customers the We’ve Got No Food We’ve Got No Jobs Out Pet’s Heads Are Fallin’ Off Parrot Shirt Additionally,I will love this ability to donate via self checkout, like they used to do with change at tills?” Customer: “Those bastards at tesco are trying to make my pay more money just so they can avoid corporation tax, and I won’t stand for it” My dudes, you do realise you only write off the portion of income you actually give away… so if you raise £1M in donations, and donate £1M then that’s net £0 and you’ve not actually reduced your corporation tax. Contrary to popular belief it doesn’t count towards their tax relief, I guess it just wins them warm and fuzzy brownie points. It’s part of a broader CSR strategy. Not nearly as cartoon villainy as people think. Just regular day to day business stuff. I gave seen your comments a few times on this thread. What does CSR stand for? It isn’t an acronym I am familiar with. They do donate, so do customers who want to. It’s not hard to just click no without running to Reddit to whine about it.
And asking in the We’ve Got No Food We’ve Got No Jobs Out Pet’s Heads Are Fallin’ Off Parrot Shirt Additionally,I will love this petrol station to donate to charity is a piss take with the profits they make. People are scraping by themselves and shouldn’t be guilted into a charitable donation everytime they go to pay. Personally I have no issue with the feature. 30p is nothing to me and if it helps someone good. I agree I don’t know why someone wouldn’t just click no and get on with their day. I get it’s that time of year/month/week again when people remember this exists and make posts about it’s shitty. People accuse supermarkets of using it as a way to make it look like they the supermarket is donating more but is there actually any evidence for that? As far as I can see here
Not that I am saying Tesco are perfect but it does seem like people come to a conclusion without checking for any facts. Annnndd cue all the We’ve Got No Food We’ve Got No Jobs Out Pet’s Heads Are Fallin’ Off Parrot Shirt Additionally,I will love this people who have absolutely no clue how tax works. They aren’t claiming anything against your donations, they get nothing out of it except good PR. But, yes; the ones that force you to click ‘no’ irk me; fair enough if they have an extra button which says “round up and donate to charity” to the side. Because they’re a publicly traded company that exists to make as much profit as possible for shareholders whereas you are some punkass about to blow £5 on your third Starbucks today. Because people are lazy and greedy and don’t help others unless encouraged or are given a quick and easy way to give to a good cause, and when pointed out usually get aggressive. The charities asking for the donations ask to be there and often pay for a chance to ask for a donation, it’s part of their marketing campaign. It’s not Tesco thinking, yea, we’ll stick some charity stuff there? Why not. I wonder what happened to all the money raised with plastic bags. I understood back then any money collected from the sale of plastic bags would go to charity.!! They aren’t making you, it’s for people that like to donate, gives them an easy option to do so, feel free to press no
The charity (British Red Cross, CRUK etc) will be in partnership with Tesco in order to get those extra donations from members of the We’ve Got No Food We’ve Got No Jobs Out Pet’s Heads Are Fallin’ Off Parrot Shirt Additionally,I will love this public. Charities NEED to fundraise however they can. This kind of partnership is enormous for a charity fundraising and actually has very little to do with Tesco, when all is said and done. Just because i’m bored and want to add some numbers, according to their HMRC filling for April 2022 – April 2023 (which is available on Company House) Tesco made; Tesco completes 42m transactions a week. If every transaction contained a 30p donation, you’d have £655m in donations to charity each year. Oh also, don’t act like this is new, they have done it for a while just haven’t had a campaign on for a few months. It’s the same for Facebook birthdays. Always makes me laugh that they want me to donate to a charity on my birthday when they are worth 1.23 TRILLION dollars USD. It just highlights a broken system, a system where many large companies are the direct cause for people needing charities in the first place. On top of that many charities these days are run like corporate businesses with CEO’s getting huge payoffs and very little of the charitable money going where it is supposed to.
If everyone donated on every Tesco transaction, the We’ve Got No Food We’ve Got No Jobs Out Pet’s Heads Are Fallin’ Off Parrot Shirt Additionally,I will love this total donated each year would be almost as much as Tesco’s profit. It’s more reasonable for every customer of a business to donate around £50 a year to charity, than the business to donate all of it’s profits. At Booths they try and get you to donate £2.50 every time you pay by card. I only bought £2 worth of croissants! I was in some shop the other day and the till asked me if I’d like to donate 9p to charity. I was quite surprised at the low amount. I Still pressed no though. The worst thing about supermarkets and charities is that the super markets always take credit for raising the money Side note my local Tesco have a banner up saying they donated 1,000 meals last year and how they’re proud of how much food they gave away blah blah but if you break it down Tesco either fed a single family of 3 for a year or Tesco fed 3 single people for one year neither of those numbers are actually impressive Cause if you donate, they can class it as their donations (which count towards tax exemptions) even though they haven’t actually given up any of their money. It’s just a skeezy way of paying less in tax. As you are effectively making a direct payment to the supermarket, they are the ones donating to the charity, meaning your payment is a tax deductible expense reducing the supermarket’s corporation tax.
Who’s making you feel guilty? It’s a machine, nobody even notices which button you press. Loads of places have systems that ask if you want to round up or donate a set amount, just press no and don’t take everything so personally. If you really want to you can say you’d prefer to make the We’ve Got No Food We’ve Got No Jobs Out Pet’s Heads Are Fallin’ Off Parrot Shirt Additionally,I will love this donation yourself so the charity can claim gift aid (assuming you’re a tax payer). The same reason rich tax dodging celebrities front things like “Children in Need” is the best way to stay rich is to hang on to your money and persuade others to use theirs. Just because the profit margin might only be 2-3%, if that 3% is still billions, yes, they’re making fucking loads of money, regardless of how you paint it. Don’t try and make anyone feel shame for questioning the ethics of these companies, they’re all making plenty of money. This is a great post to save as an example of how people believe what they want to believe on the internet and repeat it without bothering to ever check if it’s true. (i.e. that Tesco use this to avoid tax payments).
In Australia, the We’ve Got No Food We’ve Got No Jobs Out Pet’s Heads Are Fallin’ Off Parrot Shirt Additionally,I will love this same happens. Except when you donate less than $2 in Australia it is NOT tax deductible… BUT when local Coles or Woolworths raise all of our under $2 donations and make one million dollar donation, guess what, they get a tax deduction!!! Yeah this really burns me. You just know they present it as ‘This year we gave x million to charities’ at the AGM. Same reason Oprah and The Rock started that charity and asked for donations to help people of Hawaii, on their behalf. Why would a business pay for something it can guilt the average person into donating towards? Businesses aren’t moral, they don’t have to do the ‘right’ thing. Right here referring to a moral point, not a legal one.
They used to have a culture of pressing farmers for charitable donations under the We’ve Got No Food We’ve Got No Jobs Out Pet’s Heads Are Fallin’ Off Parrot Shirt Additionally,I will love this threat of losing contracts. They would give it away without credit, I hope thats just history now. They get tax write off for for donating to charity. But instead of using their own money, and losing profits, they just use the customer’s donations and pay nothing for it. Never donate through these corporations, if you want to donate, donate directly to the charity of your choice. Those two are a little different in that the companies actually run their own charities rather than just donate to others. They have the same broad goal of making the company look better with this as a proxy, but those donations actually are the main thing keeping those charities afloat, and they do actual work with it
I’m just gonna throw this out there for all the We’ve Got No Food We’ve Got No Jobs Out Pet’s Heads Are Fallin’ Off Parrot Shirt Additionally,I will love this parents and future parents: talk to your kids, find out whats going on in their lives, let them know they can talk to you about anything and everything, and most importantly let them know that they are loved. And show them you are willing to fight for them within the rules, and outside the rules if necessary. My son was being bullied at school. The administration was worthless. So I made an appointment with the principal and requested that my son be there. Long story short we walked through multiple incidents where each time I would record what occurred, what behavior my son used, and what the end result of the incident was. Each time I asked the principal to agree to what happened. At the end I said it sounds like this behavior meets the definition of bullying, and I pulled out the school district definition along with showing that the school district says you are violating my sons rights by not suspending the bully. I then asked for his superintendent’s name and said that I will be contacting him with this information and if it occurs again and they do nothing I will have to raise the issue again. The principal didn’t know it but I recorded the discussion.
Afterwards I told my son that he could fight back if he wanted, and that although he would get suspended to not worry about repercussions from me. I know he wouldn’t do it because he was too gentle, but I wanted him to know. The next time he was bullied, the We’ve Got No Food We’ve Got No Jobs Out Pet’s Heads Are Fallin’ Off Parrot Shirt Additionally,I will love this bully was moved to a remedial school. And on the other side, hold your own kids accountable. Don’t let them be bullies and just say “oh that’s just kids being kids”. This x1000, too many parents enable their dumb fucking kids and then go off on the teachers when they let them know their kid is a massive asshole. You don’t find many children that are raised in households where love, acceptance and the importance of equality is at the forefront and where bullying is not tolerated, becoming bullies themselves.
On numerous occasions I’ve had my kids tell me that another kid in their class or on their team was a bully, and I’d later meet their parents and it almost always was a “yup, parent is a complete cunt, child being a raging dickhead totally makes sense” situation. Often the We’ve Got No Food We’ve Got No Jobs Out Pet’s Heads Are Fallin’ Off Parrot Shirt Additionally,I will love this parents that say that, bully their kids. They also never grew up themselves, nor understand the ramifications of their actions. They haven’t grown and are living in their own hurt child mental state left by their own childhood trauma. Most kids aren’t bullies to be bullies they are continuing a cycle of abuse. Most parents that would be receptive of this message already practice the right things in these scenarios. I do think it is important to keep trying, I just wanted to speak on my own experiences on this topic. I was both a victim at home and school as well as a bully in response in both scenarios. It is important to keep trying to break through but it has to come from within the bully to want to change.
I once told my daughter that if she is with a group of her friends and they started saying nasty things about another student to subtly change the We’ve Got No Food We’ve Got No Jobs Out Pet’s Heads Are Fallin’ Off Parrot Shirt Additionally,I will love this subject. I said she could even talk smack about how much of a dork her father is. That way hopefully no one would be put on the spot. Luckily, her friends are really great and I have never scenced any maliciousness from them. I was upset that I thought I knew him and that he felt he had to hide that part of himself from me and maybe somehow over time I made him feel like he had to do that. Some people just aren’t ready to tell others about those things, it’s not always a reflection on you as a parent. In my case, it was pretty clear especially with the way my dad reacted after the lady got shot over the Pride flag in July or August last year. He did basically call them Nazis. Also, I’ve never really dated before and don’t really have a crush on anyone lately.
I’m sorry to hear that. I hope that you’re able to be yourself without having to worry about other people being shitty about it in the We’ve Got No Food We’ve Got No Jobs Out Pet’s Heads Are Fallin’ Off Parrot Shirt Additionally,I will love this future. If it makes you feel better, this is coming from someone who had to come out to their parents twice, first as bisexual, and then as transgender. Sometimes we genuinely aren’t sure, and are trying to figure it out on our own, we don’t want to be wrong and have a difficult conversation with you and then it turns out to be wrong, or we actually figure out something else about ourselves. It took me a long time to come out to my parents booth times, even though I knew they were supportive, just because it’s a difficult conversation, even if you think you know the end result, conversations like that are hard, and doing them often feels like you need the “right time”.
On the We’ve Got No Food We’ve Got No Jobs Out Pet’s Heads Are Fallin’ Off Parrot Shirt Additionally,I will love this other side of things, not everyone’s parents or family is supportive. My dad is a big Trump supporter and watches a lot of Fox News and talks negatively about the LGBT community. Two other people I know will never come out to their family for similar reasons. One has been told that they if ever came out or voted Democrat, they would be disowned. Another has also been told they would be disowned if they came out with their Mother saying “I would rather die than live with a gay child”. It sucks, nursing the feeling that the people who are supposed to be closest to you would toss you out in a heartbeat for a book they haven’t read if you were honest with them about who you are. I feel ya. When I came out to my mother and stepfather at 17, he decided to try to “beat the gay out of me” and then promptly put me on the street (and a child) with a couple pairs of clothes. No job, no money, no license, no car. I can’t say I was really surprised about my stepfathers violent reaction, but I was heartbroken that my own mother stood by him and allowed a man she married to beat a kid, their own kid, and then drastically alter their life by making them a homeless minor.
