I would try to explain to her that your needs are different from hers and that when you say a word…potato…she must sit in a chair, eyes on you, hands in her lap and listen. The only words she can say in the potato time is “Yes” or “I understand” or some variation of that. Potato time ends with a warm embrace and then you get 5 minutes to collect yourself. Something like that maybe. Spell it out in clear and plain words. She obviously wants to support you.
