Eventually, it just stopped. Idk how or why, but my theory is my brain got so tired of me thinking about death, it shut off that emotional part of me that reacts severely to it. You could fear it I supposed but why bother its going to happen either way, so its kind if pointless to worry about. Now this doesnt mean you have to go searching for it by living recklessly. All you can do is live your life with happiness and satisfaction to the best of your ability and surround yourself with people you love and cherish. If you’re comfortable, try microdosing mushrooms in a safe place and with a trip sitter (preferably in nature.) Seriously. They really help you do some inner work and contemplate on your place in the context of life. They helped me out a lot.

Also, spending time in graveyards helped me. Maybe take your kids on a picnic to a graveyard locally. I’m fully atheist so I’ve been able to shake the fear of some kind of torment in the afterlife. Remember how you felt before you were born? It will be exactly like that – non-existence. I’ve also had a good long depressive period during which I had near constant suicidal ideation. The society we have built over generations is deeply adversarial to freedom and happiness. This made me understand that life can be torture and the void might be preferable to suffering through life. People here seem to be suggesting shrooms and though I’ve never set the alleviation of the fear of death as an intention while tripping, maybe that helped a little too. I’m no longer deeply depressed and I’m not seeking the void anymore, but I have absolutely no fear of it. I’ve learned to be satisfied with the life I have lived. I’m proud of my accomplishments and feel secure that people will think of me fondly after I’m gone. I have nothing left to prove and though I would love to see a world at peace or even just good healthcare in the US or the end to this dumb culture war BS going on now, I know there is very little I can do to bring that about and since things seem to be getting worse and not better I’m ready to dip out whenever.
