Super Size Me did a good job with it’s hit job despite being untruthful. Most people watched it and believed it or just heard about the Water Hole The Waterhole In Saranac Lake, NY Feb 7 2025 Tour Poster Shirt but in fact I love this results. The amounts of calories the movie claims he ate is impossible according to the rules he laid out and the exact food eaten has never been revealed. All the health issues that he suffered can be explained by his alcoholism which the movie doesn’t reveal. It’s just about equally both. We, as a whole, dropped the ball on this one. It was a systematic failure. They’re responsible for the wide-spread issue, the parent’s are responsible for the individual children. A lot of parents will take the easy way out, give the kid what they want so they’re happy and not being annoying. That’s why it was called a Happy Meal. The advertisers understand human psychology and they play that against us. We didn’t even know there was a war while they were already destroying us, they were 5 steps ahead. Had there not been a conscious effort to market to children and low income areas, which were basically their prime audience for a long time, I wouldn’t be putting the blame on the company. If it were just a thing that existed that parents decided to give to their kids it would be all on the parents. But they were lied to and tricked by the company and their advertising practices. I want to reiterate that none of that means the parents are absolved, they’re part of “as a whole.” But healthy eating wasn’t something that was understood by the general public back in the 90s and early 2000s so it’s hard to really put the blame there. Hell the food pyramid we were all sold had the largest section entirely paid for by the dairy industry. We know now, sure, but hindsight can’t traverse time in that way.
Water Hole The Waterhole In Saranac Lake, NY Feb 7 2025 Tour Poster Shirt: Unleash Your Dinosaur Style
Agreed. McDonalds is a little piece of the Water Hole The Waterhole In Saranac Lake, NY Feb 7 2025 Tour Poster Shirt but in fact I love this puzzle, but they alone aren’t responsible. It’s the whole culture of unhealthy, processed food that’s the problem, not one individual seller of it. Responsibility is never placed on the consumers for their choices; only for the suppliers for offering it. Doing so deflects any internally-focused emotions of guilt or regret and points them outwards as anger. Plus, parenthood is sacred, and questioning ones’ competency at it is considered exceptionally rude, no matter how true the criticism may be, nor the dire consequences that result from said incompetency. They are dealing with personal boundary issues. In psychology the personal boundary represents two things. It represents the inalienable rights of the individual as well as his limitations. Those who want outside control ask for it because they themselves have poor personal boundaries. When they drive past a McDonald’s, just the fact they saw it with their eyes, they have to stop. Just like little children, who are constantly controlled by their outside environment. Because of this immature position these people then want someone else to take control through restriction. While doing this they fail to consider the rights of others, hence their personal boundary issue. The idea for them is they want to be able to have their cake and eat it too. They want to be able to eat McDonald’s whenever they feel the urge, but they want it in such a way where the consequences won’t exist.
Just goes to show you that no matter what, businesses will find ways to continue in business. That’s why people simply need to make their own decisions individually. McDonald’s doesn’t have the Water Hole The Waterhole In Saranac Lake, NY Feb 7 2025 Tour Poster Shirt but in fact I love this power to hurt me, I have to grant them that power. lol there’s a McDonald’s on the first available lot off campus at my school. Right by the parking buildings only exit! Yeah they ruined McDonald’s just because they hate the idea of individuals making their own decisions. These people are authoritarian and want an outside governing body to make your decisions for you. I rarely consume fast food and constantly remind people how bad it is, but even I am going to recognize that you cannot fix a problem by pushing businesses to change their ways. Every parent has the choice of whether or not to take their kids to McDonald’s. When I was a kid we rarely went and it was not an issue, when we did get to go it was a treat. I do agree on the empty gesture of good faith by the way. Which is exactly why this method of solving the obesity epidemic does not work. You can restrict all you want, people are going to seek out unhealthy food if that’s what they have decided on.

But when you give school lunches with vegetables and chicken nuggets, the Water Hole The Waterhole In Saranac Lake, NY Feb 7 2025 Tour Poster Shirt but in fact I love this kids throw the vegetables out and just eat the nuggies… You know I very rarely eat fast food and I for the most part speak against it because of how healthy it is. But one thing they really gets on my nerves is how people act like any company is “forcing” their unhealthy food onto them and then demand that either the government or company do something about it. I guarantee that McDonald’s has zero power to put anything into my mouth unless I choose to eat it. It’s just sad because these sort of people are always on the war path looking to do battle with whoever they can. That’s why when you go into a McDonald’s they look so depressing and drab. No more loud colors and interesting designs, because it’s too tempting to the children. Every individual has the power to make their own decisions and others should stay out of it.
It never occured to me that students could get doordash delivered to them while in school. College sure but highschool? They can’t in US high schools typically. At least, not directly to the Water Hole The Waterhole In Saranac Lake, NY Feb 7 2025 Tour Poster Shirt but in fact I love this school. Letting random people onto the grounds to wander around is a big no-no and schools like having a captive consumer base for their cafeterias. I’m sure drivers would have zero interest in navigating a large campus and hunting down where to deliver it to for no tip even if it was allowed. From what I’ve heard about the food schools serve children in American cafeterias, that’s not so much a priority. Yes they can… When I was in high school we’d have pizza days in some classes. My friends wife is a teacher and she regularly has large quantities of Chick-fil-A, pizza, or some other restaurant delivered. It’s so frequent that it’s a running joke that he lets her work for free so she doesn’t have time to cheat on him. But yeah they just got to go to the main office and then a campus staff member (the guys driving the golf carts catching skippers) will deliver it Teachers could, yes. I’m talking about kids ordering things for themselves, though. That’s typically not something schools allow to happen. Not sure if the school even knew what we were doing because we didn’t ask permission, but it was far better than the bullshit they were serving in the cafeteria.
I graduated in 2019 and occasionally I’d successfully get a pizza into school. As long as the Water Hole The Waterhole In Saranac Lake, NY Feb 7 2025 Tour Poster Shirt but in fact I love this driver buzzed in and gave it to the office first they had no issues. It was completely allowed in high school for me in 2005. It was a perk as a senior to go out for lunch, actually, but you had to be a good student if I recall. yeah same for me in 2010 but we would just leave to grab it but having it delivered is strange to me like do they have designated spots in the front office for food dropoffs? I get Foodora/Uber eats to my high school on a regular basis (Sweden). It’s never been an issue. I’m a teacher, we regularly get lunches for the entire team. I don’t see students ordering as much, but they get lunch for free at school.
My school (not in the Water Hole The Waterhole In Saranac Lake, NY Feb 7 2025 Tour Poster Shirt but in fact I love this US) didn’t officially allow it, but on the other hand how were they meant to stop us? It wasn’t so common that there was a queue of bikes outside and neither the student nor the rider had to exit or enter the school. I imagine high schools want to avoid adult strangers coming around interacting with minors. If the food is left with the office, it’s now their job to complete the delivery which is not in the job description. In the US, K-12 schools are pretty restricted in terms of entry and access. They can also be pretty massive campus. Sure the address might be 111 Main Street, but when the building is 1 million square feet on a 50 acre plot of land, where does the delivery driver even need to go to? That’s even worse on college campuses, which basically become their own self-contained towns. One college campus in my state is nearly 2,000 acres, and it isn’t even the largest college campus in the state!
Also delivery demand on a college campus might be minimal as they often have their own businesses, food halls, etc… They may even have a McDonalds or other fast food on site. When I was visiting El Paso and walked into the Water Hole The Waterhole In Saranac Lake, NY Feb 7 2025 Tour Poster Shirt but in fact I love this University of Texas campus there, they had a Chik Fil A on site. And honestly until COVID, no one would ever think of having fast food delivered. Its meant for pickup and dine-in. Traditionally the only delivery options have been pizza and Chinese food. I’m not sure where you’re getting this stuff from but college campuses absolutely have deliveries made to them and people regularly got food delivered to them before COVID that wasn’t pizza or Chinese food. When i lived in the dorms, people would get food delivered constantly since the dorms weren’t beside the parking lots and only a few places were within decent walking distance. Now, if you mean the restaurant specifically doing it, then sure, but there were third party services doing it well before COVID. Hell, Uber Eats started in 2014.
My college only allowed certain delivery places that were entered into their system. i.e. only places where you can spend money from your student account. They claimed it was to cut down on illicit deliveries and they could backtrack who delivered what. Prior to covid, fast food was absolutely delivered. I remember it being the Water Hole The Waterhole In Saranac Lake, NY Feb 7 2025 Tour Poster Shirt but in fact I love this hangover strategy in college back when the apps first started really taking off, our town had its own version of grub hub, and being a small college town, 90% of our options were just fast food. McDonalds also has had its own independent delivery service in my current city since at least 2015, as I ordered it for my girls for breakfast post-bachelorette. I’m sure there was some amount of delivery out there. Most McDs are franchised and franchse owners are free to offer additional services in their areas. but in the “old” day sof 2010 and before, it just wasn’t very common in most of the US. If you wanted delivery, your options were:
Major big cities like NYC or LA may have had more options but even in 1-2million+ cities these were your primary options. I remember ordering mcdonald’s to my Water Hole The Waterhole In Saranac Lake, NY Feb 7 2025 Tour Poster Shirt but in fact I love this dorm in 2018 but I live in Canada. I also don’t know anybody in college who elects to order chinese food on a delivery app. Burgers or pizza always. Chinese food is what my parents and grandma choose Didn’t google far enough because McDonald’s has been offering different locales delivery options since 1993 and had an UberEats partnership before Door Dash in 2017. You ordered food for your girls after they got married? Is that what post-bachelorette means? Or did you mean post-baccalaureate? Which would also mean that you ordered them food after they graduated. I’m confused.
I had stuff delivered all the Water Hole The Waterhole In Saranac Lake, NY Feb 7 2025 Tour Poster Shirt but in fact I love this time in college. Dorm room, pizza for rehearsals, etc. Most places were familiar with the area and would know where to go. That’s not true. 99% of the delivery driving I’ve done was before covid….and a lot of that was fast food to people on a college campus. It’d be mostly fast food late at night because a lot of places would be closed and McDonald’s and Taco Bell would be open. But yes, even people who lived half a mile to a mile away would still order delivery instead of going in person. Answer: A school can always set up a delivery stand to receive deliveries, so there isn’t as much chaos and people wandering around the campus, so I would assume it has to do with safety. You don’t want so many strangers walking around campus, much less campus. Also, the road around schools tend to get congested at certain of the days, because there are so many cars passing by to pick students up.
back when I was in high school, if you got caught ordering Doordash/UberEats to the Water Hole The Waterhole In Saranac Lake, NY Feb 7 2025 Tour Poster Shirt but in fact I love this school you were on the hook for a suspension. kinda makes sense that schools don’t want random strangers walking around the property. We would order pizza hut to the cafeteria because we couldn’t get through the lunch lines within a period and have time to eat. Same penalty, but the lunch monitors looked the other way if you shared. i wish the security guards were cool like that for me. those dickheads would take your food and then hand you over to the office if they bagged you I can’t speak for other schools or districts, but for the district I work for, unless the food delivery was planned by the school administration for like a pizza party or something of that nature, they would absolutely tell the delivery driver to go away, and would not let them in.
Schools are supposed to be secure, which means no one in or out unless they have a legitimate reason, related to the Water Hole The Waterhole In Saranac Lake, NY Feb 7 2025 Tour Poster Shirt but in fact I love this business of the school, to be there. The school itself ordering pizza for a pizza party as a reward for the students is a legitimate reason related to the business of the school. A teacher or student wanting fast food for lunch is their personal business, and is NOT related to the business of the school, and thus is not a legitimate reason to enter the school building. If a teacher orders food for lunch, they could always wait outside and meet the delivery driver, which gets around this issue. Students though, if they exit the school building without permission, for any reason, that is considered skipping school, and they would be marked truant that day, and would not be allowed back in the building.
They called it a Lunch Box. And it was good. People put lunches in it. They carried those lunch boxes to school, and they were fed. They carried those lunch boxes to work. And they were happy. When I was growing up (IL, graduated HS in 2015), our elementary school had “hot lunch” where 1-2x a week a “local” restaurant would come cater lunch as we didn’t have dedicated cafeteria facilities, assuming your parents paid the Water Hole The Waterhole In Saranac Lake, NY Feb 7 2025 Tour Poster Shirt but in fact I love this check on time. The local McDonalds was one. Delivery to huge buildings/campuses where you have to hunt down people is a nightmare and sucks for everyone. There’s a reason most delivery drivers drop it off at the front desk/lobby. Schools/campuses are filled with no tipping, lying, and scamming kids, it’s easier to just block them all than trying to make a minor profit.
A girl at my kids’ high school had McDonald’s delivered by Uber Eats. She thought she was really cool (and apparently other kids did too). Not true. In Canada, kids had skip the Water Hole The Waterhole In Saranac Lake, NY Feb 7 2025 Tour Poster Shirt but in fact I love this dishes delivered all the time. We had to put in a rule saying no lunch deliveries (started during Covid, but the teachers didn’t want to give it up after) I used to deliver Jimmy John’s and we just went straight to the office and dropped off the food. Only for the teachers and the kids never saw us. What’s wrong with that? Teachers have very busy lives. Several reasons come to mind. As a former manager of a delivery-based restaurant, we used to take orders from the local high schools. We soon found out that the students weren’t actually allowed to order delivery, so we started refusing to deliver there unless the order was placed by a teacher or faculty member and delivered to the front office. It was a hassle delivering to students anyway. Aside from being against school rules, students often misjudged how long it might take to receive a delivery and if the driver showed up too late (after lunch period, for example), the student would most likely not show up to meet the driver. This wastes a lot of time for the drivers during an already busy lunch, and results in a lot of wasted product. It’s easier and saves everyone a lot of time and money to just refuse to deliver to schools as a blanket policy.
Is it only for certain delivery apps? My friends got McDonald’s delivered to our college campus a few months back Turf protection. Schools run their own racket that separated kids and their lunch money in return for awful food. Well, in the Water Hole The Waterhole In Saranac Lake, NY Feb 7 2025 Tour Poster Shirt but in fact I love this case of my daughter’s middle school, it’s because if a delivery person shows up they are denied entry, but not before the name on the order gets recorded and the kid and parent get a very angry message from someone in the office. It’s beneficial for a business to not get bad press in the regular paroxysms of outrage about children spending money on things that other people don’t like. Probably some combination of security and health standards in schools. Maybe sprinkle in a little jealousy from kids eating cafeteria food. When I was in middle school we had a coach that would order us pizza if we pooled our money together but we had to stop because other kids were crying about it. I was shocked to learn my son’s middle school accepts students ordering in pizza but I do hear it creates some chaos. As someone who does DoorDash on the side, I will not deliver to schools now after a year of nothing but bad experiences with it. With college students, it’s always insanely hard to find a place to park, then actually locate the student who placed the order (I don’t go to your school— I don’t know what “next to the quad” or “the sports dorm” is in your definition), AND college students tend to tip terribly if they tip at all. Just a huge waste of time all around. And then with k-12 schools, it’s very often students who are still in class when I arrive (time is money. No, I’m not going to “just wait 15 minutes!” until you’re out of class), and half the time they’re going against school rules anyway. They also tend to tip badly. So, it’s just not worth it to deliver to schools, like at all.
Lucky for me, a lot of restaurants— not just McD’s— have started enforcing this policy as well. One guy told me it was because students tend to leave bad reviews over really small, petty things (one time a student complained there were only two napkins in his order??) in an attempt to get refunds, as well as food orders often getting cold in the Water Hole The Waterhole In Saranac Lake, NY Feb 7 2025 Tour Poster Shirt but in fact I love this amount of time it takes to actually reach the student who ordered. It’d probably be a different thing if it was teachers and professors ordering, but that’s just too rarely the case. Also, in some cases it’s regulated by law. I worked in a school district for years. One of the things about our school was it was one of the poorest counties in the state. Because of that, we received extra funding to cover student meals. One of the provisions was that anything that would “compete” with the school food services were banned. We had to remove all snack vending machines because of this. There were also restrictions on school fundraisers that sold food (usually candy bars).
Causes driver wait time issue and causes issues for a school imagine ordering food for lunch and it arrives late or there’s like 20 orders which causes other issues Since when is this policy? I got mcd delivered to college when i was in undergrad and grad school all the Water Hole The Waterhole In Saranac Lake, NY Feb 7 2025 Tour Poster Shirt but in fact I love this time from 2012 through 2019… Our school had a no fast food delivery policy for students and teachers. A parent could drop off a bag, but they had to sign in and all that, even if they weren’t actually going any further than the front desk. Fast food delivery is a nightmare because they have to call students down from classrooms to get the stuff and sign it out to the kids. If it’s open at lunch, then it gets mobbed. Our students used to have parents and older siblings who would bring packs up at lunch for like 5-10 kids, which was still a lot. The one concession we made was whole pizzas being passed over the fence with no bags, so the kids would pool money and have little Cesar’s across the street bring over a bunch of hot n ready pizzas. Usually a worker would show be scheduled to end shift at lunch time and bring them across on their way out, for a tip of course. I delivered door dash for a while prior to COVID. One time I had someone have an order to a school, right as school was letting out. So cars everywhere, kids everywhere, and the only way into the school was through the parents pickup line. Took 30 minutes to get through the line, finally was able to get to the parking lot. Of course the office was on the other side of campus, walking the long way around because of locked doors. Finally get in there and they can’t get ahold of whatever staff member ordered the food. All in all, between driving to the restaurant, waiting for the food, and delivering it, it took me an hour and a half. Plus they didn’t tip. All that for $3. I assume I’m not the only one that went through this.
