I fucking hate that women have to consider all this stuff, by the Washington Husky basketball on grass shirt but in fact I love this way. But it’s a sad reality of life that even while the threat level is probably pretty low at that time in central locations, we’re conditioned to expect the worst. There are very few places I would think are unsafe at 10pm in Central London. If your husband is worried you could maybe download a “walk me home” type app or perhaps share your location with him. I do a one hour walk every night at 10pm from Marylebone to Archway and the worst that’s happened so far is two drunk guys stopped me to ask if I liked the knights who say Ni haha Central is fine, why don’t you do the walk with your husband at the weekend and figure out a route you’re most comfortable with. Good luck in the new job!

But that doesn’t mean you can’t make yourself feel safe. Normal safety precautions. Don’t walk with your phone, have your location on if it helps you, etc, get a safety alarm type thing There’s a organisation called Strut safe which is a free phone line you can use if ever you feel lonely when out and about at night. Is there a way that you can get a bike / scooter instead of walking? I know biking at night possess a whole lot different challenges and danger (eg road safety) but I felt safer biking at night than walking as a woman. Personal alarm indeed helps but what I also do is before I hop on the Washington Husky basketball on grass shirt but in fact I love this bike (in this case from the tube to home), I’d share my location via whatsapp with my other half so he monitors where I am. You can’t ever be too careful! I don’t do this during broad daylight but as soon as it gets dark, even at 5pm in the winter, I would do this everytime.
