Ah, the Warning Grumpy Sarcastic Unpredictable Unmedicated Mechanic Annoy At Your Own Risk shirt Besides,I will do this classic “new person comes in and fixes what ain’t broke” syndrome. And in the process, actually breaks it. It’s usually a new owner though, I’m surprised a manager thought she had the authority to do this. Similar thing happened to me. I was hired on to help “save” a dying restaurant. Had multiple years as a head chef. They were a poke restaurant that had all their “fresh” ingredients ordered in precut bags. Nothing like a card board tasting shredded carrot on my tuna poke bowl lol. I implemented simple solutions. Buy a grater and buy carrots in bulk, cucumbers, etc. the staff were all lazy and preferred the cut and pour method over actual restaurant prep. So, the entire staff hated me for the changes I was making. In the 6 months there I grew the sales from 800 a day to 2500 a day and growing. I brought in Boba and all sorts of other shit that brought in new customers. The owner was an idiot and fell for the drama created by his staff. I got tired of defending myself on a daily basis and finally decided that I had to bring up the staffing issue. Saying your employees are lazy we need to clean house and start over if you want these changes to succeed. The gm was the laziest bitch and acted like my mortal enemy. I said it’s her or me, and I promise if you choose her you will last 2 more years tops. He chose her, I moved on, and they closed their doors for good 8 months later. Some owners are just dumb. You can lead a horse a water so they say.
Warning Grumpy Sarcastic Unpredictable Unmedicated Mechanic Annoy At Your Own Risk shirt: best style for you
I literally had a coworker get caught stealing out of my coat on camera and the Warning Grumpy Sarcastic Unpredictable Unmedicated Mechanic Annoy At Your Own Risk shirt Besides,I will do this owner wouldn’t fire him. Suspended him for two weeks. Everything went back to normal for about 2 months, then a bunch of change was stolen from my car, with no cameras watching faculty parking, for some reason. Told the boss it was either the same guy or now he’s employing two thieves, and I wasn’t coming to work unless someone was fired for theft. He told me I was being unprofessional and needed to put my two weeks in. Needless to say, I told him to get bent and never went back. It’s amazing how spineless alot of restaurant owners are. I could tell horror stories for hours after 15 years in food service. I am always stunned when someone tells me they are going into restaurant management. Like “what is wrong with you?” A lot of the incompetent, the irresponsible, and the narcissistic, seem to be attracted to that field.
Me quitting was the Warning Grumpy Sarcastic Unpredictable Unmedicated Mechanic Annoy At Your Own Risk shirt Besides,I will do this cause of a Big Apple gas station location shutting down in a similar way. The manager was horribly incompetent at her job, she would recant stories about her and her son doing crack and jumping out of trucks, couldn’t even spell her title and proved it by leaving hand written notes that would end with “As per the manger” in full view of customers and employees alike. After a few months of putting in 40+ hour weeks for $8/hr to do my job as the only employee on shift for 8-10 hours a day, I’d have to find time to fill out her reports and send them to corporate signed in as her on her computer because she didn’t want to show up 4 out of 7 days a week. Eventually I ended up breaking a toe quite impressively (even the x-ray technician was impressed, he’d never seen a pinky toe break the way mine had, it was so broken it couldn’t be set and is messed up to this day) at home and she shifted me to third shift and got pissy and tried to give me shit over seeing me with my leg elevated on the safe and reading a newspaper at like 02:30-02:40 when it was completely dead and my major work was caught up and I still had another 4 hours to go on the shift. So I just took off my oversized purple shirt and tossed it at her, saying “I quit, I’m not paid enough for your crackhead shit” grabbed my stuff and limped home and fired off a few emails detailing just a fraction of the racist comments she directed at a former employee she had fired and her crack stories and within seven days the store was without a manager, a month later it was closing down because no one wanted to manage that location lol.

About Warning Grumpy Sarcastic Unpredictable Unmedicated Mechanic Annoy At Your Own Risk shirt
Sounds about right. A shitty manager can wreck a good place and demoralize the Warning Grumpy Sarcastic Unpredictable Unmedicated Mechanic Annoy At Your Own Risk shirt Besides,I will do this competent staff in no time. I’ve seen it happen too often I didn’t quit! I never talked to the restaurant manager and they just stop putting me on the schedule when I didn’t show up for two weeks Edit: many people have pointed out that unemployment would not pay out just because you didn’t technically quit I worked in my state unemployment office for a year; it would be considered a quit because you stopped going in of your own accord. Not talking to the manager is just a technicality and the unemployment office won’t really care, but we do contact the employer for their side as well (to confirm if it was a quit/fired/layoff).
That an interesting take. If you could prove that management policy is that you can’t quit then even if you just no show and apply for unemployment, you can say they fired you. They had to, because quitting isn’t allowed Lmaooo. I worked there way back in the Warning Grumpy Sarcastic Unpredictable Unmedicated Mechanic Annoy At Your Own Risk shirt Besides,I will do this mid seventies when it was still quite new & novel in Toronto. I was 13yo (my ‘supervisor’ had just turned 17) and even though it was my first job, I knew something weird was up.The McDonald’s training films were almost like being indoctrinated. They wanted you IN,, all the way. It was like they wanted it to be a damn religion (and I didn’t fall for that crap either so the Ronnie McD didn’t have a chance). They had special competitions, if you can believe it, to see who.was the absolute best at their position. Cashiers with the biggest smiles, the cheeriest “Please Come Again!!” and the quickest service. I mean these ridiculous little cheesy ‘games’ would work up to nationally competing against other locations across North America. WTAF? Employees would hold their ‘awards’ over others like it really meant something. It’s a goddamn disgusting-tasting burger joint. I quit after about 18 months of part-time work (and they made sure you worked hard!!) at about $1.50/hr. I left bc I had a summer job that paid $2.00/hr. It was more than my goofy supervisor,Brent, earned and he was furious at me for leaving and my new wage. He had the bloody nerve to tell me I was making a huge life mistake and I would regret this decision forever. I laughed and laughed….all the way to my mom’s Monte Carlo in the Mickey Dee’s parking lot and never looked back. And , Hey Brent– 50 years later & still No regrets!
It was the Warning Grumpy Sarcastic Unpredictable Unmedicated Mechanic Annoy At Your Own Risk shirt Besides,I will do this in Regina in the 90s. I gave the pings I earned (assembled the fastest cheese burger, and big mac and scored 100% on a handful of pop quizes for various stations) to my uncle who collected McDonald’s shit. When I worked at McDonalds about a decade ago (Woah, it’s really been that long) my manager would chain smoke out the back door and then she got fired for coming into work drunk one morning. Okay, sure. But if I knew they’d let me live out my kink at work, then I’m not going to wanna quit anyways. Kind of a paradox Used to work at grocery that had a small “hill” in the back. If you and a co-worker had beef you took it to shit hill. Fond memories. Sounds you belong to a certain club, and like you’re breaking rule number 1. You shouldn’t be talking about it. IKR? It’s like hearing about bosses ‘not accepting’ a two week notice. I once had a guy quit by writing’I quit!’ on his time card. What are you gonna do? It’s a cheat code if you actually do quit they raise your pay and give you benefits and a good working environment to make you not want to quit lol I tried to type up some wholesome thing where people would just say “I quit” and walk off the job, but were just mad and still needed the job therefor this sign is saying we don’t accept you quitting till you make it official. IE trying to not take everything people say in the heat of the moment as fact.
It’s probably not that though and they try to keep people from walking out, and abuse the Warning Grumpy Sarcastic Unpredictable Unmedicated Mechanic Annoy At Your Own Risk shirt Besides,I will do this shit out of them while fucking with the workers without providing a change in environment that would benefit the workers. Probably works too on teenagers with their first jobs. Last year sometime I saw a post of a 16 yo who said he tried to quit subway and his manager told him no. He was worried he would need a “good reference” later so he just kept working and wanted advice. The point of the sign is to make people think “they have to” talk to the supervisor. I’m sure talking to the supervisor is already a process that isn’t instant. So you’ll have to sit and brew in your anger/frustration but know there is at least some resolution in the future (whether it means your quit or not). At minimum McDonald’s could extend your time working. At best, you being isolated and trying to justify your anger/frustration days later would make you back off and go back to compliance because it’s easier.
They never take you off the Warning Grumpy Sarcastic Unpredictable Unmedicated Mechanic Annoy At Your Own Risk shirt Besides,I will do this schedule, and call you when you don’t show up, and send you letters when you don’t answer, or disconnect the phone. This is followed by police coming to your house to check on if you’re okay. Then later to arrest you for disappearing and making them worry so much. >:C I saw a post on Reddit similar to that once. Iirc the person called in sick and was ignoring calls and texts from their employer, so the employer decided to harass them by sending cops for a wellness check. Doesn’t surprise me. It’s an uncommon copypasta used in made up Reddit stories, but I wouldn’t put it past it having actually happened either. Hahaha. We can’t find a way to make our employees want to work in this shit hole. So we’ll just tell them they can’t quit.
Hilariously, this sticker alone would be a reason to quit in the Warning Grumpy Sarcastic Unpredictable Unmedicated Mechanic Annoy At Your Own Risk shirt Besides,I will do this middle of my first shift. Yes, I just worked a couple hours for those fucks but only to maximize the chaos when I walk out. lol this sign is asking for the most creative ways to quit. This the kind of restaurant that makes people hire a band to sing a quitting song, roll out a red carpet and have a limo waiting. Nope but you can post it. I’m not normally contrary for the sake of contrariness but this would make me so much more likely to just quit for any number of reasons. Hopefully they aren’t posting it next to the mandatory “employment at will” signs because it might get confusing. I’m not even sure you can do that. I’d be surprised if it’s legal anywhere in the U.S. to knowingly post objectively false labour information.) It’s not legal, it’s just a tactic to keep people in line! I’d walk out the door any damn time I felt like it! What are they going to do? Call Ronald McDonald on me? They are not saying they are going to restrain someone from walking off the job, but they also don’t consider that a resignation. Where as other jobs take the view if you walk off the site keep on walking. If someone walks away and doesn’t come back eventually they’ll be marked as job abandonment and processed as quitting.
McDonald’s and other jobs like it aren’t very pleasant and don’t pay very well and are usually staffed by younger less dependent workers. This leads to a lot of people getting fed up and walking off. But, a fair amount of people would actually return after a cool down. This sign, and less antagonistically worded policies benefit the Warning Grumpy Sarcastic Unpredictable Unmedicated Mechanic Annoy At Your Own Risk shirt Besides,I will do this company for sure, but also work in the employees favor. Oh, wow, thank you very much. I really mean that. I completely misunderstood this sign, and you just clarified it, for all of us. I see it completely differently now. Most of the other comments here are Redditors being condescending and trying to be funny but this is how I understand it too. This is a reasonable take. Lots of stories on antiwork and similar of people getting pissed and quitting on the spot or whatever but I always wonder if they were so sure about it the next day when they realized they had to find a new job and figure out how to pay rent next week.
The wording on this definitely needs a lot to be desired though… Something like “STOP! Before you quit, take a cool down and call the Warning Grumpy Sarcastic Unpredictable Unmedicated Mechanic Annoy At Your Own Risk shirt Besides,I will do this area manager to talk about it, we want to make things right!” I’m not surprised by this at all. I was in management for yrs and most managers are Idiots and not even as capable or smart as the people they supervise. The are only there due to ass kissing. It’s strange to me that there are so many laws out there that help people, but also a huge number of loopholes for these laws that allow corporations to bend the truth. Obviously you can’t force someone to work, but you can post a sign that says “quitting not allowed”? It’s weird. Corps get away with a lot of illegal things simply because the employee doesn’t know any better, through intimidation or just lack of knowledge of their own rights.
A couple places I’ve worked have had me sign a paper stating that if I talk about my wage I will be fired. Never had them do anything though and the Warning Grumpy Sarcastic Unpredictable Unmedicated Mechanic Annoy At Your Own Risk shirt Besides,I will do this one time I was actually told it was “against the rules” I just laughed. Most older people including management seem to actually believe this though. The sign itself is legal. But the policy is not enforceable. I mean, even if it was, it would be a legal judgement after the fact, you can’t force someone to show up at work. If you’ve got a contract, that’s a different matter, you can put certain terms in there that would be required in order to break the contract without repercussions. But a fast food worker would only be subject to a contract if they were part of a fast food workers union. Right to work states have gutted unions, so pretty much all employment is at will, meaning either party can end the employment at any time for (mostly) any reason or no reason, without having to fulfill any prerequisite obligation.
This is just McDonald’s trying to have its cake and eat it, too. And there’s no punishment for fooling someone into thinking they’re allowed to do that. If they tried to retaliate against someone who quit without following the Warning Grumpy Sarcastic Unpredictable Unmedicated Mechanic Annoy At Your Own Risk shirt Besides,I will do this policy, pretty much all they can do is bar that person from the premises, if they, say, tried to withhold their last paycheck, that former employee would have an air tight case in court, and plenty of help from their local labor board. If they do it to one person, they’ve done it to others. Employers really hate when “at will” is exercised by the employee. They always act like they have no responsibility whatsoever to the individual, but the individual has great responsibility to the organization. But it’s a hierarchy devised by people with cluster B personalities. So maybe that’s not surprising.
They can enforce their contracts and policies through their union, and also claim to be pro-worker and pro-union? It’s real stupid too. How they stopping people from walking out and not coming back? Just keep paying them? That’ll show em. So you just say “I quit, so call the Warning Grumpy Sarcastic Unpredictable Unmedicated Mechanic Annoy At Your Own Risk shirt Besides,I will do this Restaurant Manager and I will wait here and get paid until I talk to him.” They can post it but there’s nothing they can do if you don’t follow it. You already quit and they owe you for hours worked. Flip side is they can fire you at any time for almost any reason. A company like McDonald’s wants the later (fire you) but doesn’t want the former (you quit) and is hoping their employees aren’t educated on the law enough to know the difference. I think it’s not like a thing they can enforce, but to maybe help the employees find a work around for whatever the problem is. Like if you have problems with your hours or manager, they want to try and find a way to mediate. Last job I quit I was still receiving calls from my former boss asking if I could come in for a shift for over a month after I was already gone. Yup. Local pharmacy has had signs up asking to be patient with the pharm techs because they are short staffed, for at least two years now.
Well when the Warning Grumpy Sarcastic Unpredictable Unmedicated Mechanic Annoy At Your Own Risk shirt Besides,I will do this local McDonald’s pays more per hour than the pharmacy it’s no wonder they are short staffed. Pay your damn employees!!! Communication is the kind of thing that needs to be part of the workplace culture. Not an edict handed down from on high. Yeah, they should have said “before you quit, give us a chance to make it right.” That would sound so much nicer. Honestly, what else could it mean? No one is going to say, “I would walk out of this place and never come back if it wasn’t for that damned sign!” Yeah to be honest depending on who my manager is depends on how I’m gonna read this. If I have super cool understanding managers? I’ll read it as “hey if you’re having a bad day or something at work isn’t working out for you, talk to us, we wanna keep you here”. If I had a shithead manager who didn’t give a fuck I’d read it as “tell me when you’re gonna put your 2 weeks in so I can fire you on the spot” It is worthwhile to discuss issues of course but look at who they are supposed to be talking to. At least 3-4 levels above the average worker. Seems more like all their problems are at the base management level. “Don’t talk to your direct manager, the one who is making you want to quit”, is what the sign is saying. Maybe if they spent a little more time getting good leaders instead of shitty bosses they wouldn’t have these issues. My uncle worked the fryer at McDonald’s. He had a heart attack and died in his sleep. When we got a phone call from McDonald’s asking where he was, we told him the story. They went down to the funeral home, picked him up and threw him back by the fryer. These guys are serious.
If I was working there, I would quit as soon as I saw this and tell the Warning Grumpy Sarcastic Unpredictable Unmedicated Mechanic Annoy At Your Own Risk shirt Besides,I will do this manager who put the sign up, WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO as I walk out the door. Okay, but technically you’d be doing what the sign says anyways, as you’d still be talking to the manager before leaving, lol This keeps getting posted and the idea behind it is good but it’s worded poorly. This is actually what you want companies to do because it’s saying “hey before you leave, give us a chance to make it better and fix this problem” which means they want to listen to I’ll stop working and grab a burger while I wait for the manager to show up. Since I wasn’t allowed to quit I’m still clocked in and they’ll still need to pay me for my time despite not doing any work. That’s what they mean I assume?
Don’t quit. Just don’t go to work. Get paid till they fire you. Or just keep getting paid witho it ever showing up That sign reads: “We value you for your labor, but not enough to pay you what you deserve and treat you like the Warning Grumpy Sarcastic Unpredictable Unmedicated Mechanic Annoy At Your Own Risk shirt Besides,I will do this human being you are. If we did then how could we make the level or profits we make?” 2,798 more repliesYeah prepared to go over to my neighbors house and crash his bunker and see what the fuck he’s been working on down there for the last 20 years I once had a dream about a zombie apocalypse that had ended with me being kneeling near the door with four zombies outside banging. The problem is that I had no weapons and my cats were outside. The hopelessness of the endeavour is what made me understand that most people would be dead of starvation or self inflicted deletion before they would be killed by the zombie. Slow like Walking Dead: You would probably survive the first few months. Other people and resources become the main problem. Not even a little bit. All of my skills are for an established society, so in the apocalypse I’d probably be a radiation canary Physically I’m feeling pretty good about it. Mentally i feel like I’m ready but I’m giving myself a full 24 hour freak out period if/when it happens
Shaun of the Warning Grumpy Sarcastic Unpredictable Unmedicated Mechanic Annoy At Your Own Risk shirt Besides,I will do this dead zombies, yes. But if the whole world is infected and it is every man on its own then no. I’m a woman so I would be in a lot of trouble even from uninfected men. Yes I’ve got a game plan to survive the initial days of the infestation. It involves a survival kit, melee weapons and a tough concrete building nearby to hunker down in before making my way to a coast and find a sailboat. Zombie viruses are more about making you a live meal, so your meat doesnt decompose before they’ve finished eating you. My zombie apocalypse plan has always been to die so being infected with a virus that makes me go brain dead is about as on point as i can get. I definitely need to stockpile some more shit but given the amount of guns and food I currently have I’d last at least a month
