White people feel so uncomf recognizing race is a thing, it’s way more racist to try to put it under the Vin Diesel Family Meme Shirt in other words I will buy this carpet then just acknowleding it’s one of the many dimensions of our existence in this world. If there’s no reason to point out race thought, that is weird. So some people take that too far and think ANY mention of race is bad though. I’m someone who struggled/toyed with this for quite a while because I don’t like race to be used as a narrative point (“Then a big black guy walked in and all of us cowardly racists freaked out, just because.”), but I’ve come to realize that race can be useful a a descriptor (“Hand the money to the big black guy, not the little black guy or the Asian guy or the white lady. Both the participants were black and when the police asked me for a description, I froze. I didn’t know how to describe them without thinking what I was saying was racist. Uhh..they had two arms and two legs? Have we seriously been conditioned to think like this? if there’s a bunch of white people and one Black guy i just can’t see that as racist. like. he IS black right? what else would you say to immediately identify him that crowd? if it was the other way around you’d say white guy. there’s nothing racist about the color black. we’re going down a hole of people being offended. if he’s Black then he’s Black. if you said guy with the curly hair instead you’d just look like you’re trying to be woke lol
