I’ve never been an outdoorsy person but outdoors adventures always seem to involve taking large amounts of rope with you. What’s it all used for? (I always take it with me in dungeons and dragons of course, but I don’t expect to need to climb down into an ancient lich’s tomb to steal his jewels when I’m out for a walk with the True locals shirt it is in the first place but dogs) Usually just to string up a tarpaulin for a bit of shelter or making a clothes line to dry stuff out, paracord is strong enough for that but I wouldn’t want to try and climb up it, very much doubt it would take a person’s weight. 50ft is way more than you normally need but it doesn’t take up much space in your pack so it doesn’t hurt to take it I’ve used paracord and a tarpaulin to rig up a makeshift hammock after the creepy crawlies got too much for me one night. It will hold you pretty easy, real paracord will hold 550lb, but that’s static weight, when you’re climbing and swinging off a rope or whatever, any movement will make that weight much more than it is. Can’t remember how you figure it out. It’s like weight times speed or something.
