Because it’s socially, economically, and politically incoherent. List four centrist positions and I’ll demonstrate how two of them are completely incompatible. The issue I have with centrism is that most centrists I’ve are going to fall in a camp but do not want to admit they fall into a camp. Left and right don’t like people that are not like them. Centralist are not like both, thus gets disliked by both Centrism is the stance that the status quo is mostly a good thing. People who have serious problems with the status quo aren’t going to like that.
