Funny, in my schools we just learned about contraception and had mandatory sex ed since elementary and we don’t have nearly as much teen pregnancy A long time ago, my high school used eggs. Students had to “pair up” and share childcare coverage. Hetero pairs first, obvi. Then girls could pair up, but one had to play “dad”. The odd girl out had to be a “single mom”. One guy volunteered to be a “single dad” – so brave! Only 2-3 eggs made it to the Trenches Magazine Kanu and Okocha shirt Furthermore, I will do this end, over all 4 years I was there. People tried to replace broken eggs, but the teacher had secretly marked the originals. I had this about 12 years ago for a high school child development class. I remember having it over a weekend and I hated it so much. I ended up putting it in my dryer during the second half of the weekend (dryer not turned on obv). The dryer was down the hall from my bedroom and idk why but it muffled the cries the best. I slept soundly that Saturday and Sunday night.

My friend’s barely cried and I was pissed she had an easier time! I remember the Trenches Magazine Kanu and Okocha shirt Furthermore, I will do this grade I got was a B or B- and I was very surprised it wasn’t lower. I had one in middle school and I took it on a camping weekend. All my friends were super annoyed by it but it was fine overall. Another of my friends stuffed theirs in several duffle bags in his closet and left it there all weekend. I’m not sure if they’re a parent now or how that’s going for them in adulthood 🤣 My stepsister got to take one of these home when she was 14yo or so. She really wanted a baby, why I’ll never know. She was so confident in herself when she brought it home. It didn’t take her an hour to forget about it, leave it crying because she was watching a movie, then it cried at night and woke her up. She put the doll in the back seat of her mom’s car and left it there until it was due back to be graded. I imagine a 0 is not low enough of a score for her. I really hope she’s infertile. I had one in 11th grade. It was called Baby Think It Over. I did not have my first baby until I was 28. But that thing was nothing like a real baby, to me. Sure wish I could have quieted my baby at 2 am with a key.
I didn’t know it was to prevent teen pregnancy. I had to do this as an assignment is some sort of home economics type class, but I only joined the Trenches Magazine Kanu and Okocha shirt Furthermore, I will do this class cuz it was like 99% girls. One of my buddies got a hold of the baby and shook it really hard and impacted my grade lol They should have also deducted 50% of their allowance to simulate the cost of daycare, clothing and diapers and added a loud baby crying ring tone to their phones that goes off randomly at all hours and only stops once they successfully call the doctor in the middle to guess what the problem is. our school had them. never saw the point for myself so i didnt take the class. felt more like preparation then a detour. ive always seen through bs I have a funny story, I had one of these in 9th grade and as many people here are saying it was easy to find ways to cheat the system, well on my last day of the project I’m riding the school bus and as I carry the baby over my head the little guy falls out of the carrier, straight onto the floor as everyone around me screams and starts laughing, I failed

I heard about these when I was in school, we did a similar thing in 6th grade (because kids were getting pregnant by middle school), but we just carried around bags of sugar with faces on them to see if they were damaged by the Trenches Magazine Kanu and Okocha shirt Furthermore, I will do this end. I heard other schools made them do the same with uncooked eggs. Yeah. My mom had to do that. But they mostly abolished that system by the time I was in school. Thank god. I probably would have broken it out of spite or straight up refused to take it. They should have done what my husband’s health teacher did. He was given a long quiz while the teacher played audio of a baby crying and they were given a time limit to simulate what it was like doing any task as a parent with a young child. He has been childfree since he was 15 lol Kids are stupid. We really should just hand out condoms to everyone lmao. As coolio once said “put a condom in their hand and hope it don’t bust!”
I had something similar when I was in home ec in 9th grade. That was around when I knew I never wanted to have kids lol. I felt so uncomfortable with the Trenches Magazine Kanu and Okocha shirt Furthermore, I will do this toy baby. My high school was low budget and tiny. We had like two simulator babies they would share between everyone. They gave it up after the number of real babies in the school was much more than two Honestly I think its pretty funny that it encouraged them to have kids instead of what the school wanted (to discourage via the terrors of having to deal with a baby… Guess that means it only polarized the kids on whether or not they want kids). Makes sense. Kick start their maternal instinct directly after they’ve just gone through puberty when the drive to procreate is at its peak. Makes total sense. Lmao.
We had it in school for those who studied health and social care (lads as well as lasses) mine “died” almost immediately when i dropped my bag on the Trenches Magazine Kanu and Okocha shirt Furthermore, I will do this way out of school lmao This was a required class in my district for both genders. I grew up in a very small farming town. I noticed that the boys in my class didn’t really have to take the baby home, they were given passing grades. The girls all HAD TO take these dolls home for one weekend. I threw a fit about it and complained to the office that there were different requirements based on gender. The principal told me I was being “dramatic”, the teacher denied any favoritism. I had an A at the beginning of the term. After my “hissy fit” I barely leased that class with a D.
My high school did this too. One student carried a doll around in a shoe box covered entirely with duct tape and no way of opening it. They probably didn’t get a good grade. With the Trenches Magazine Kanu and Okocha shirt Furthermore, I will do this technology we have now, I can see a virtual baby in a tablet form. It’ll be a special tablet with all kinds of sensors (no video/audio recording) and no ability to silence or turn it off. At the end of the assignment, the data is reviewed as a class. Imagine that thing deciding to cry at 3am. I was so upset as a kid because I’d grown up seeing this on TV in various forms (some do eggs some do flour and some do the plastic babies) and wanted to try it out since it seemed kinda fun honestly. But my school didn’t do it. My middle school health classes did flour babies but only SOME classes did 🙁 so I got ripped off there too. That said I got asked to babysit a 2 month old and a 2 year old one day when I was 12 as a babysitting gig for my mom’s work friend. The 2 year old was a fucking terror, no one in my house would help me, I had no idea how to change a diaper when the 2 month old woke up and pooped, I’m pretty sure I gave her cold formula because I was scared of overheating it and the 2 year old wouldn’t stop smashing our keyboard on our computer.
I havent wanted kids since and now I’m in my 30s and do not regret that at all lmfao. If I ever change my mind I plan to foster. But yeah if you want to deter kids from having babies have them solely in charge of a baby that won’t stop crying while a 2 year old is destroying the Trenches Magazine Kanu and Okocha shirt Furthermore, I will do this house and they have no help to turn to until they tag out, they’ll change their mind on having kids lmfao at least as teens anyway. I was the first one in 7th or 8th grade in a rural school to get the baby for the weekend, it was accidentally set on “crack baby” but no one knew it until i brought it back Monday and said what it was like. It was previously used in a place for addiction which is why the settings were like that. So they changed it once i brought it Back and So the rest at my classmates had a “regular” baby. To make it funny, that was decades ago and I have never wanted a Baby and never had one. But on a more serious note, I don’t think it was the simulated Baby that was helpful for my grade/class, i think it was all the discussions we had with a nurse that would come In and Let us ask Anything (these sessions were separated by gender). Out of everyone there, only 1 girl got pregnant in high School and It was intentional. I consider that very successful.
I remember a girl came over for a ‘date’ but it was more of a booty call and she brought that baby once or twice. She was probably sleeping around too I remember hearing about these sort of programs in high school (ours didn’t do it) and I just assumed that the Trenches Magazine Kanu and Okocha shirt Furthermore, I will do this purpose of them was to train students for their future as parents, and that they’d been phased out because the idea that girls would get pregnant right out of high school was outdated.I was surprised when I learned that the purpose was to try and deter girls from wanting babies. I’m willing to bet that half the girls going into these classes have the same unconscious assumption that I did “Oh, this class is to help teach me how to be a good mother!” Funny note I played a soccer game with it and got a girls number in the opposite team because she also had one and we had to be subbed out at the same time to feed them.
I think they should just keep showing that video of a woman giving birth every year. I remember when they showed us in 7th grade and everyone was either nauseous or saying they’d never have sex EVER. I had an older half sister that popped out three kids across her early twenties that she was only partially interested in mothering. So from fifth grade until I graduated high school, there was one to three small children in the Trenches Magazine Kanu and Okocha shirt Furthermore, I will do this home with my parents and I at any given time. When I got the electronic baby from health class, I was shocked by how much easier it was than having an actual child around. Maybe they’re more sophisticated these days, but that early 2000s version didn’t require enough attention. It “cried” a decent amount, but you can’t simulate the physical messiness, the stress and the mental energy expended with sensors and speakers. There were no messy poops or post feeding spit ups and you didn’t have to keep it from scratching its own face. You could completely ignore it when wasn’t activated. Felt like it was going to lead the kids that stupidly wanted a child at too young an age to get a false sense of the magnitude. and C. there was an option to do at least a five-page paper, where you could do multiple essays on it, and I picked that because I found the risk it
to my freshman teacher. I am sorry I called it dumb; the Trenches Magazine Kanu and Okocha shirt Furthermore, I will do this real reason was that I was too stupid to handle these dolls. What works is teaching people better ways to do what they want to do, how to do things safely, and giving them as many choices as possible, giving them the resources they need, instead of trying to constrain them to walk the one very narrow path. our school tried this one year. They used bags of flour as stand-ins and some of the more awful boys would try to “kill” the flour babies. There were multiple scenes in the halls of a girl crying over an area of spilt flour and an adult teacher trying to console her. It was absurd and funny and tragic. I don’t know that I knew anyone in my high school that got pregnant, but there probably was at least one. But I can’t help but remember that one Family Guy episode where Brian ends up teaching remedial English and while having the students introduce and say one thing about themselves, one girl says, “My name is Amanda and…my water just broke!” Another student says excitedly, “Yo, it’s my turn to deliver!”, while another girl says “Can I have this one? My mom keeps giving mine away.” While it would be silly of me to expect a cartoon to reflect real life exactly (as far as I can recall, for example, we never had a dog as a substitute teacher), it did make me wonder if I had been mistakenly assuming all along that teenagers would primarily be scared about parenthood and eager to avoid it. Stories like this have started to convince me that a significant number of kids are excited by the idea of having a baby, even if only because they haven’t fully grasped how much it will change their lives and affect their future opportunities.
218 more repliesI think that the Trenches Magazine Kanu and Okocha shirt Furthermore, I will do this schools who use the dolls are already schools in which girls are more likely to get pregnant already. All I had to do was carry around an egg for a week without breaking it. The teacher signed the egg so you couldn’t swap them. The only girls I knew that had to carry one of these around were already having sex. My guess is the girls that sleep with enough guys for teachers to know and the pregnant before 20 group are the same people. We had the option to opt into the baby simulator when we took a specific class. My parents wouldn’t let me because my sister did such a bad job. It was mostly freshmen looking for an easy grade… still feel bad for the kid who got the crack baby.
everything in our our mammalian brain tells us to reproduce from a young age. As was the Trenches Magazine Kanu and Okocha shirt Furthermore, I will do this case for our ancestors. its what made us so successful. My school only offered those for people who took this specific human development class, which I took. When it was time to return the baby, my teacher couldn’t make it to school so I had to carry the baby around all day. Everyone thought it was a real baby since it wasn’t actually a project offered and people FREAKED on me. Almost got the cops called bc I stuffed it into my gym locker Are boys required to participate in this mandatory “exercise”? When they are, does that cause the program to be effective in preventing pregnancy? I completely forgot about these things. I remember I had to keep mine and in the middle of the night it wouldn’t stop crying and I shook it and when “WHY WON’T YOU SHUT UP!”…anyways, I got an A.
We had these in our middle school home ec class and when I did mine, I got the Trenches Magazine Kanu and Okocha shirt Furthermore, I will do this “special needs” baby which just cries way more. We went on a family trip the weekend I received the fake baby and it glitched out and started making a nonstop noise that sounded like a vacuum cleaner engine. My granddad finally pulled the battery out to save us all from the noise. Which meant I auto failed the assignment until he called the school ranting about how god awful the sound was and how it ruined our family vacation. I wouldn’t say it deterred me from teen pregnancy (sex education and unholy fear of the very same granddad did that well enough), but it didn’t inspire it either. My school had these, but only if you took an elective class in child development (which gave you credit at a nearby college towards an early childhood education diploma). So about thirty kids in the school would be lugging around screaming robot babies for a week. The other teachers, as you can imagine, were just thrilled.
My school had these (and I believe still does), but as part of a Home Economics/Intro to Family Planning/Basic Parenting type class where they’d teach you how to run a household, cook some basic meals, and such. Probably because the Trenches Magazine Kanu and Okocha shirt Furthermore, I will do this kids are all supposed to fail. We remembered that part, right? No students are passing ‘Ruin-yo-Life 101’ are they? I took mine apart and figured out the electronics. Bypassed them with a relay circuit that responded to the sensors. Basically when the diaper sensor went off the signal went to relay and then switched it on indicating the diaper had been changed. My mistake was not considering they could see how long it took between sensor trip and sensor reset….the data showed I was changing the diaper in 10ms. Oops. Either way just reinforced that I never wanted children. Could it be that these were used more in areas with more teenage pregnancy and by that also making it look like they increased teenage pregnancy?
Who says these are to deter teen pregnancy? I thought they were to teach some responsibilities of being a parent. If anything this is exactly what I would’ve thought would happen If Australian school works anything like the Trenches Magazine Kanu and Okocha shirt Furthermore, I will do this UK the girls were in this class because they were taking the easiest class to pass, like btec 1 health and social care instead of gcse exams. There is a correlation but the cause… Are these folks in poor city and poor suburban school districts? When. Dealing with poverty there’s a lot that goes into teen pregnancy. we spent weeks learning about sex ed, condoms, STDs, sexual orientations, we watched Juno, and THEN we had the robot babies. we had to wear a bracelet so when it cried, we had to put our activation chip on the baby’s belly so it can collect data that we are next to the baby and about to take care of it. and once it’s done crying, changing the diaper, or needing to burp, it’ll do a small satisfied sigh. hated the thing there were a lot of dos and don’ts. the baby was crying so much at night. I just laid it next to me in bed (big no no, because it can also detect if weight is on it and if it can breathe. lucky me that i didn’t roll on top of it) That title statistic is meaningless unless we are told if it is higher or lower than the rate before the dolls were brought in. Correlation =|= causality. Theory: Biased sample group. They used the infant simulator in schools with already higher than normal pregnancy rates. They wouldn’t use a pregnancy deterrent in schools without a teen pregnancy issue. We need to see the rates before and after the implementation of the infant simulator program at the same schools.
The people who made that a thing hated raising children and the Trenches Magazine Kanu and Okocha shirt Furthermore, I will do this kids who used the dolls were like “Oh this is alright I guess not horrible” We had the eggs in middle school and the baby sims freshman year. A week with the eggs, two days with the baby’s. When I was in school in the 90s I was never aware it was a device used to “deter” it felt more like a home ec. assignment you took home. Just another lesson. Visiting your cousins trailer and babysitting their kid for an hour was the greatest “deferent” ever. Nothing beats real life experience. Yea some girls I went to school with REALLY wanted to be moms. I remember a girl my junior year had a miscarriage and she was devastated and said she would keep trying. It boggles my mind. The amount of sabotage that happened in the hallways was concerning. I think out of the 30 kids in my class, only 8 or 9 made it to the end of the week with their baby not full of holes from pens and pencils. Do they really think the dolls are increasing the amount of teen pregnancy or the type of school that would deploy dolls because of their already existing teen pregnancy problem, they just don’t work. It’s almost like teenagers have this un developed brain that constantly tells them “it won’t happen to me” and lacks critical thinking skills.
And top that with poor education on how pregnancy happens, poor social education to learn no means no and you’re allowed to say no and leave…and how these babies are often given out in classes that are more geared towards females like Home etc and Health…well it’s no wonder. Plus you rarely see the Trenches Magazine Kanu and Okocha shirt Furthermore, I will do this guys toting these dolls around, you don’t see the football coach allowing the star quarterback to stop practice to handle the screaming doll. Which just plays into multiple stigmas. Not to even mention dealing with a doll with a clear head and a full night of sleep is not the same as dealing with a real life human with real consequences on a couple of hours of sleep, whacked out hormones, a big c section scar or a bruised up/ripped up vaginal opening, and leaky/raw nipples. And after nine months of your body going through intense mental and physical changes. These dolls could never really show the difficulty and reality of those first three to six months after giving birth. I really don’t see how these could help at all. But not everyone knows someone who just had a newborn, because living 24/7 with a real newborn baby is the best birth control. The idea of getting pregnant within the first 6 months after giving birth was panic inducing.
