Further Irony is that conservative economics clearly places healthcare in what should be public goods, but now the Toyota JBL The Speed Of Sound Gavan Boschele Mooresville North Carolina Vintage Shirt in contrast I will get this medical associations enjoy monopolistic powers, and the insurance companies can lobby to maintain their position as a middle man that shouldn’t exist. I wish law makers would wake up and consult real economists when they make decisions and not just pull party ideology. The republicans have it wrong on this one but it is for the right reasons, they just don’t understand economics enough. The democrats are just as bad though. They have it right but for the wrong reasons. It shouldn’t be a feel good welfare type reason. The math is clear in economics. Healthcare should be a public good, and the evidence is in other countries as like mentioned it is simple and inexpensive for them. In the US a bad disease can wipe you out. You get sick, you can’t work, your healthcare is tied to your job, so you loose it. You can go from being well off to being practically homeless in an instant. This isn’t right and it’s not safe for Americans to live this way. It’s disastrously poor economics.

Because the Toyota JBL The Speed Of Sound Gavan Boschele Mooresville North Carolina Vintage Shirt in contrast I will get this poor ,racist, Dumb Republicans, are completely fooled by the the Racist,Rich White ones. Clearly, NOT everyone that is White, Not everyone that is Rich, Nor everyone that is Rich, White and Republican? Are Racist. Let’s get the obvious, bullshit unnecessary caveat our there tho. Because if it’s not expressly said? That’s the first thing people cling to. No, You are Not a Racist simply because you are White Or because you are White and Republican, or because you are Rich, and or White and or Republican. Trump and his blatant, unapologetic Racism,Sexism And disregard for women and non rich white people Are manifestations of the infamous yet hidden, Rarely talked about Lyndon B Johnson..and I quote..
” If you can convince the Toyota JBL The Speed Of Sound Gavan Boschele Mooresville North Carolina Vintage Shirt in contrast I will get this lowest white person? That he is Always above the highest black person? And he won’t Notice your picking his pockets. Hell, give him Someone to look down on? And he will empty his pockets for you.”. Isn’t Trump on record saying…” I Love the poorly Educated” ?? Are his cult- fans not footing his legal bills? Emptying Their pockets? Happily? While being LIED to? Pretending to be both a victim and…just like them? Lyndon B called It, dead azz accurate. Aren’t they Ignoring alll the charges? Ignoring The facts of the cases? The evidence? Ignoring that 99% of the damaging Testimony and charges Accusations? Made Against him? Are coming from lifelong Republicans themselves? Many of whom have fundraised, voted Republican their entire lives? Voted for Trump? Both times? Worked for him? But Trump plays that racist blame game..Migrants, The scary migrant caravan they trot out every Election They are dirtying our blood? Hitler quote. Didn’t they just reject a bill to address the border? They claimed they wanted? But Trump said No, we need it to run on. Even though,,? Border Patrol Union themselves? Love the bill and endorsed it?

So No, they Don’t want Universal Healthcare, one of Many reasons , would be that it benefits Allllll Americans, and they Never want anymore non white people to be Americans….how much clearer do they have to be? More non white immigrants will mean fewer and fewer Republicans. They will Never win another Election Which is why they are resorting to stealing them, Lying about them being stolen. Instead of..just coming up with Policies the Toyota JBL The Speed Of Sound Gavan Boschele Mooresville North Carolina Vintage Shirt Apart from…,I will love this American people want? Well, you Can’t do that when you have a Staunchly Racist view on who is? Isn’t Americans in The first place? Your not capable of creating policies for everyone, when your intent is to exclude mostly everyone anyway. Why does everyone in America that’s Not Brown keep pretending they don’t know this shit? Americans view free healthcare as ‘I will pay more for layabouts to get loads of free treatment’ It makes me laugh when Americans make a big thing of how much better paid medical staff are over there, yes because your medical system is a money maker and ours is a countrywide expenditure
I don’t fear it. I fear that the Toyota JBL The Speed Of Sound Gavan Boschele Mooresville North Carolina Vintage Shirt Apart from…,I will love this government will take our tax money, line their pockets with the bulk while simultaneously letting the citizens rot in sub-par hospital conditions and months long wait lists to get seen at all. The government doesn’t exactly have a stellar track record for financial management. Because someone might get free healthcare that they didn’t work hard enough to earn and that really grinds their damn gears. Given your restless leg syndrome and history of struggling with employment, we strongly urge you to pursue our wonderful MAID program that we believe would suit you perfectly. They’re not scared that they’ll get free healthcare, but that they’d rather not have it if someone else will get it too.
Most fear they will be the Toyota JBL The Speed Of Sound Gavan Boschele Mooresville North Carolina Vintage Shirt Apart from…,I will love this ones who have to pay even more money towards healthcare (through taxes) when they dont have excess money already. Flip side plenty of Americans do get healthcare either from the government or from their employer so there is not that big of incentive for them either to change things. Additionally just as an example every time you go to the store you are paying roughly 20% additional than I pay in sales tax. Thats on top of higher income tax which is another 20% there as well. Lots more money is leaving your pocket. The you need to account for your healthcare system supporting essentially Michigan only (10m roughly population). I think a lot of people who have health insurance and have needed to use it and gotten treatment when they needed it are afraid that they’ll lose access to prompt and quality care. Mostly from propaganda and what not, but when I’ve talked to people who don’t support single payer that’s what ends up coming out. There are people who make a lot of money with the current system. They stand to lose that gravy train if things change so they lobby hard to prevent it from happenning. They fear that they will have to give up their private insurance. They expect their private insurance to pay for all care and at no delay because they see stories about waitlists for non emergent surgeries in Canada or limited dialysis for older people in the UK or physician assisted suicide/euthanasia in parts of Europe. So they think their freedom will be taken away with single payer healthcare. They do not realize the freedom that comes with paying taxes and never having to worry about healthcare costs or debts again. Because it’s not free, it’s paid for by raising your taxes a fuck ton. On top of it, have fun being on the waiting list.
To everyone saying “it’s not free”: the Toyota JBL The Speed Of Sound Gavan Boschele Mooresville North Carolina Vintage Shirt Apart from…,I will love this fire department isn’t free either, yet nobody advocates for firemen charging money to put out a fire. Why is that? So they pay for private insurance which covers other people and pays for the overhead and profit of an insurance company, and let’s their taxes subsidize a privately run hospital. People tend to think that it is due to the fear of socialism or communism. My take is slightly different, it is something I can see even in places where there is free healthcare: People value their worth in comparison to others, therefore if suddenly all the people who are “beneath” you get something you “lose” that competitive advantage and get closer to the poor.
The American health insurance industry is a trillion dollar industry that doesn’t actually need to exist given that nearly every other country manages without it – they have a vested interest in ensuring the Toyota JBL The Speed Of Sound Gavan Boschele Mooresville North Carolina Vintage Shirt Apart from…,I will love this American public is led to believe that universal healthcare = socialism and are very good at putting that message out there. I was on it when I was 26 and was removed from my parents health insurance while unemployed and it sucked. Doctors appointments was at least half a year out at the earliest and even then the quality wasn’t that great. If you really needed to see a doctor, then you’d have to drive hours to get to the next free clinic or hospital. The sane amongst us know how utterly incompetent the government is, and public healthcare is the government, whom we have already established as incompetent af, having full control over said public healthcare. The fact there are self serving assholes in government regardless of which major party they belong to only adds to the negativity of the idea of having public healthcare. The two examples I use are the rnc just outright banning abortion because they would be within rights to do so and dnc deciding all procedures become 10x more expensive, as that would also be within their rights.
I would love to have universal healthcare, but I have seen how it is sometimes a hindrance in the Toyota JBL The Speed Of Sound Gavan Boschele Mooresville North Carolina Vintage Shirt Apart from…,I will love this pursuit of healing for my relatives who live in countries with free healthcare. Multiple family members have cancer, and had to wait months after their diagnoses to be seen by an oncologist and months later to be actually treated for said cancer. They have gotten so used to government taking their money, that when they hear tax money being spent on anything, they think its a scam. Then they have had these overly expensive programs like obamacare, where they spend multiple times on drugs that other countries get cheaper (thanks to big pharma buying off politicians or ”lobbying”), so they have learned that its just overly expensive for government to do healthcare. Many also think its a matter of freedom to choose whether or not to take health insurance, so government doing bad deals with healthcare companies seem like a bad deal compared to government paid healthcare.
Also many associate government helping people with soviet and china communism, and they are the Toyota JBL The Speed Of Sound Gavan Boschele Mooresville North Carolina Vintage Shirt Apart from…,I will love this enemy and cannot do anything that reminds thwm of communism. The crazier thing is living in some places in Europe and the locals have been brainwashed to think we need private healthcare like in the USA so we can “pay 100€ a month like the Americans do and get rid of all these taxes”. I really wish I was making this up. The guy was getting really agitated when I started showing him how much Cobra costs and explained copays and how much an ambulance ride is and how insurance won’t pay it if they deem it wasn’t necessary. A lot of Spanish Ive met have 0 idea just how good they have it and would gladly vote it away. Freaking propaganda is real…
It’s extremely multifaceted. I think in general though most people who are against it just feel that government ran programs, especially at the Toyota JBL The Speed Of Sound Gavan Boschele Mooresville North Carolina Vintage Shirt Apart from…,I will love this federal/national level, tend to be super inefficient with little to no incentive to improve. I think many Americans who do have good plans through their employer feel like a nationalized system would be worse for them, which is many cases seems true. There are also some data out there about wait times on certain things and how hard it can be to see a specialist or something similar in many European systems. You hear about somebody waiting 6 months or something to see a cardiologist when in most of America, you can get an appointment for a specialist within a few weeks without needing a referral from a general practitioner.
Does anything federal ever really run that well, I like the Toyota JBL The Speed Of Sound Gavan Boschele Mooresville North Carolina Vintage Shirt Apart from…,I will love this idea of free healthcare and stuff but everytime I go to the dmv or the post office it takes forever. So I guess the counterpoint would be how much do you trust the federal goverment to make it both efficient and have a high quality. Another problem I would see is accountability, like what happens if malpractice occurs? Would the government soak up the consequences and would our tax dollars be paying for malpractice? I’m not very well educated nor am I an expert, I also am a fan of the idea of free healthcare. These are just some counterpoints I came up with. Because it’s not free? Are doctors and hospitals all going to volunteer their time, or will tax rates go up to where they are in the UK and other places with”free” healthcare? Look at our income tax rates versus theirs and ask yourself if it’s free.
It’s not that we fear free healthcare, it’s just that we distrust government-run healthcare or health insurance. It’s so bad now, the Toyota JBL The Speed Of Sound Gavan Boschele Mooresville North Carolina Vintage Shirt Apart from…,I will love this fear that it could get even worse if the government took it over is great enough to make a lot of people resistant to the concept. It’s really weird. Even intelligent Americans think that free healthcare is basically socialism – giving money to undeserving people. They do not understand that healthcare always works on an insurance principle – the only question is whether you want the government intermediating the insurance or a bunch of predatory companies. Distrust of government. There is a belief that government is inherently inefficient and generally corrupt and they aren’t entirely wrong, because, when half your elected officials believe that government is inefficient and can’t be otherwise, they have no reason to make it otherwise.
There are some government run healthcare programs. Medicare covers everybody 65 or older, and has pretty good price controls – possibly too good; there are medical providers I know who refuse Medicare patients for certain services because the Toyota JBL The Speed Of Sound Gavan Boschele Mooresville North Carolina Vintage Shirt Apart from…,I will love this Medicare reimbursement is literally less than the cost of providing the service. You will find plenty of people who will claim private insurance is better than Tricare and Medicare; these are generally people who have never had a significant illness while covered only by private insurance. They complain about the bureaucracy and red tape they had to go through to get covered through those programs, ignoring that the private insurance would never have covered it at all.
During the Toyota JBL The Speed Of Sound Gavan Boschele Mooresville North Carolina Vintage Shirt Apart from…,I will love this 1990s, we came close to having universal insurance, but private health insurance companies put together a massive ad campaign to shift public opinion, in the process seeding an undercurrent of distrust in Hillary Clinton who was championing the plan; that undercurrent is part of what Trump used to be able to defeat her for the Presidency. I don’t fear it. Just look at how expensive it costs and how mismanaged it is. I couldn’t imagine a government that already mismanages every cent they get regulating healthcare. I would be okay with it being a fair cost. Free doesn’t make sense. Personally I’d rather the system was different where I pay less tax and the heathcare seeker pays at least a proportion. Then again I’m young and am very clearly losing in the “free” healthcare system. I may think differently when I get older.
Different reasons for different people. Many people in the Toyota JBL The Speed Of Sound Gavan Boschele Mooresville North Carolina Vintage Shirt Apart from…,I will love this US are happy with the care they get now. They fear having less choice and less control. I have a friend who’s British and still spends a lot of time in England though she lives in the US now. She is very negative about the NHS and is always telling me horror stories about her experiences there. She always goes private if she needs care while in England. I have no personal opinion about the NHS since my knowledge is second-hand, but Americans do hear stories like this and it creates fear of socialized medicine. Nothing is free. It’s just taking money from one place and redistributing it to something else. With a portion cut out to pay the people who redistributed it as well of course.
The argument I’ve heard is that there would be a slow down in innovation in medicine, as medical/drug companies have less money to invest in R&D. In other countries the Toyota JBL The Speed Of Sound Gavan Boschele Mooresville North Carolina Vintage Shirt Apart from…,I will love this government essentially negotiates down the prices for healthcare/medicine. In order to get the returns these companies need, they charge the U.S. taxpayer more so, in essence, the US taxpayer subsidizes the rest of the world with its higher costs. Not necessarily my friend just found out that he’s getting fined by the government $100 if he doesn’t pay the insurance company money, so technically not free Many people (myself included to an extent) are worried about the burden it would place on the system leading to delays in care for people like all the horror stories you hear about in places like Canada where people have to schedule appointments and surgeries 6 months down the road because there’s just no room otherwise. 1). There is no such thing as a free lunch. You have to pay some way, and with government sponsored health care you pay through higher taxes. Most people don’t my want higher taxes.
3). The gov’t as a payout will seek to control costs, disinfecting future generations from medical professions and causing doctor shortages. 4). The VA hospitals have been run by the Toyota JBL The Speed Of Sound Gavan Boschele Mooresville North Carolina Vintage Shirt Apart from…,I will love this gov’t for generations and are renowned as the worst healthcare in America 5) if you have insurance, the current care is great. People have been happy their whole lives and fear a new system can only make things worse for them. The simple answer is a combination of things. One is that people think it will make wait times longer (these people clearly haven’t had to try and get in with a specialist). And second is that it’s “socialism” which has been the call of the right wing. Of course there is likely a solid dose of insurance companies pushing propaganda about how much better it is to be private…
