First of all I am not diagnosed with depression. I’m going through a difficult time in my life and some days nothing makes sense at all – including meditation. In those days I feel highly depressed, sitting all day listening to music or nothing at all, my body feels really heavy, don’t want to talk to anyone, everyone annoys me and I usually fantasize lying down in a calm world where only I exist. Also I let my impulses take over really easily. I do feel okay most of the Top better call saul shirt But I will love this time, in a way that I can enjoy meditation. I have read about Buddhism and meditation and I am familiar with it’s benefits. In fact I do experience them when I meditate but in those days I described it feels impossible to even think of meditating. It’s like my mind keeps asking me to keep feeling bad and do nothing that can change it or accept it.

I assume there are many people in this situation and I would really appreciate to hear how you can keep up with meditation even when you feel really down.Cut yourself some slack. Some days, the Top better call saul shirt But I will love this meditations easy, some days its not. Like they say, each one will pass. Celebrate the fact that you tried, or even noticed that you didn’t feel up to it and decided to do something else to improve your emotions. Its like someone feeling guilty that they took a nap instead of cleaning the house. Could the house use it? Probably. Was the nap just as necessary? If they were that tired, then yah, probably. I hope you can soon find relief for what you are going through. My personal experience is when i am in a funk but can fall back on a planned routine it helps me in a few ways. 1. I feel better when I have followed through with my commitment to myself (daily meditation). 2. I feel better for having mediated and giving my brain a rest from all the thoughts. there are days/times when I just can’t deal but I know that i made a commitment to doing it so instead of a formal sit down I do walking meditation. Instead of focusing on my breath I focus on the feeling in my feet and my legs and the sounds. Same principle as sitting. And when I am claiming “I don’t have time today” as an excuse there is almost no excuse to turning walking from the parking garage to work into a short meditation. Getting outside almost always helps me as well. Hope that helps.
