It’s more women than men but a lot of dudes think the Together We Pride Gay Rights Pride Month Pride shirt but in fact I love this exact same thing. How often have you heard something like “I don’t want to get too big” from the dudes that just hit the treadmill? That isn’t me being hyperbolic either, that is a direct quote from a dude after I told him I wanted to get back into weight lifting and he needed to rationalize why he only did cardio and yoga once a month. Afterwards he sipped his 20oz stout and had to fix his shirt because his beer belly had forced it out from the confines of his belted waistband. It may be partly that, but I also suspect that most women do like it when a man has an athletic look but don’t like it when a man has a ‘huge juiced up shaved gorilla bodybuilder’ look.

If you don’t use steroids, obsess over macros, have freakish genetics or spend hours each day lifting extremely heavy weights, working out will tend to move you from being scrawny or fat towards looking athletic, which women do like. I think that’s too big of a generalization to be true I think. There is a lot of women out there in the Together We Pride Gay Rights Pride Month Pride shirt but in fact I love this powerlifting/weightlifting/bodybuilding who are attracted to that type of size/strength. But all of this commenting has me forgetting the main point of this post. By the time a man has reached a level where his size and strength is noticeable, he is absolutely not doing that to attract women. On the flipside, Id argue muscles are very attractive on men and women, it shows dedication, work ethic, and that they take good care of themselves. Being jacked is an achievement.
