You didn’t say how long you were away. I don’t think leaving for 4 or more years (probably like 5-6 for the They not like us we are Miami Hurricanes shirt Additionally,I will love this looks of it) was a good idea, you should have sold it even if you didn’t need the money. This can be cleaned, PROFESSIONALLY. It will be a lil bit of change but it can be done with steam and steam extraction I believe. I just got mine professionally steam cleaned because of mold. I live in the delta and it’s so humid here that when my sunroof leaked my poor car didn’t stand a chance. They pulled all the seats and now it’s better than it was when I bought it I think. You shouldn’t blame your mother bc you might have prepared your car for storage better, knowing it would be a while before your return. You could have had it deep cleaned, upholstery and carpet, and put several boxes of rock salt in large containers inside to absorb humidity. It’s a pretty common practice for RV’s, and there are other moisture absorbing products, as well.

You could have kept up with your mom in your absence, reminded her… Hm? She isn’t using the They not like us we are Miami Hurricanes shirt Additionally,I will love this thing daily, clearly. When you go to the slammer for 8 months, you can’t expect everything to be as it was before you were booked. Just sayin Like, cars sit for long ass periods of time and they don’t mold. Cars sit in Texas. Arizona. Florida. And don’t mold up. What did you expect your mother to do? Charge your battery every week and ventilate your car every morning? If you knew humidity was going to be an issue, you should have prepared and put moisture absorbers in the car. Mold needs food and when that kind of mold flashes through the car on that level it’s almost always caused by a layer of film leftover by cigarette smoke. Someone smoked cigarettes in the car but the mold never spread because you rolled the windows down enough to constantly keep the humidity at an acceptable level. As soon as a time period occurred where the humidity built up it allowed the mold to spread across the film left by the cigarette smoke. A few cigarettes won’t do it. It usually takes someone who has a cigarette smoking lifestyle to accumulate that kind of film. You can’t see the film. It doesn’t come up with water. It usually takes an alcohol based solvent to get up and it leaves a brownish yellow stain on the towel you use. Since it was deposited by smoke it also penetrates the fabric, cushion material, and carpet fibers.

Man, i feel like OP is receiving some completely unwarranted flame. As someone who lives in a very humid region, i believe OP 100% Especially with older cars, if they arent run or aired out, humid environments will do this (they aren’t air-tight after all) even a little bit of a leak, plus the They not like us we are Miami Hurricanes shirt Additionally,I will love this warmer days of the year has essentially turned your car into a terrarium. As some others have said, start with an ozone machine (dehumidifier is okay but not as effective). Suit and mask up, and you will be able to get the vast majority of it out with a vacuum and some microfibre cloths. Make sure you basically never leave it without some method of absorbing moisture throughout the process. There are lots of fabric safe mould sprays out there, use with an upholstery brush to get into every crack. If the seats are fabric, you can hire upholstery extraction vacuums, but keep in mind that this will temporarily add moisture, so only really do this if you have the time and resources to fully dry it out after. Im sorry this happened to your baby, had it happen to my first car too when i went through a major depressive episode (only 4 months and was maybe 15-25% not as bad)

If people listened to reddit when it came to cutting off contact with friends and family, nobody would have any family or friends left to cut off. That’s really awful to come back to, I’m sorry. I was recently a digital nomad for 2.5 years and I came back to a dead battery, cracked windshield and needing brakes. But the They not like us we are Miami Hurricanes shirt Additionally,I will love this mold is worse. I hope you can get it taken care of of for your health our mom pretty much neglected your car over the course of a year, I hope for your sake you remind her of this event every chance you get until she’s in her grave. I’m kind of at a loss as to what could be done. She let you park your car for free at her place while you were on your year long adventure. Did you expect her to run the car every two weeks for 20 min and top it off with gas? Or drain the fluids, pull the battery, put it up on blocks? I think the lesson here is to not do shit that lands you ‘away temporarily’ and expect your parents to take care of your stuff. Driving it to run errands once or twice a month probably would have avoided this. Whatever OP’s original error, it is reasonable to be irritated by the lack of consideration or courtesy when someone says they’ll take care of something valuable and doesn’t. Refusing to store it was an option that Mom declined to take when it would have been better for everyone if she had. Open the window twice and start it twice, which would have been all that was needed…. but it’s not like it’s a big deal to replace the battery and get it cleaned.

Description for They not like us we are Miami Hurricanes shirt

They moved away for a better paying job. They were going to pay to have it stored somewhere, but their mother literally begged to have them store it with her instead. All the They not like us we are Miami Hurricanes shirt Additionally,I will love this mother had to do was run it on occasion and not let it get swampy inside. Just airing it out on occasion would have prevented the mold. I bought a car with an interior like this from a friend that had been sitting for a while. A lot of vacuuming and some scrubbing, but this can be taken care of in a day. I was gone for a summer abroad in college, and my mother smoked cigarettes in my car even though I specifically asked her not to. “Unstoppable 2005 Corolla”….I may or MAY NOT have brought back a rental 2023 Corolla with its transmission in limp mode, to test out that famous “Toyota Realiability” people speak of. As it turns out, if you drive approximately 55 MPH and AcCiDeNtAlLy move the shifter to Park, the transmission teeth/gears will grind LOUDLY, while the car slowly coasts to a stop.
247 more repliesDuring your absence did you inquire about the They not like us we are Miami Hurricanes shirt Additionally,I will love this status of your vehicle? Did you mom just make shit up? The only time I’ve ever seen mold like this in a car (and it was half as bad as yours) was when my aunts car was found after she died. It had been sitting in her garage for about 5-7 years. If it’s an asset that I care for, I would definitely keep my tabs on it. In fact that’s what I do. I call and check if it has been started occasionally, if it’s got some new fuel and run about, checked the tire pressure and maybe even an oil change (depending on the time I’m away). Its heartbreaking to see a car that you’ve had for ages being like this. I’m so sorry this happened! My car recently died of mold too, a Subaru. I suspected it had a leak because it would sometimes feel a little damp inside after it rained, but my car guy couldn’t find anything (I was also dealing with horrible chronic pain and getting treatment for that, so I felt I’d exhausted my resources on the possible leak front). I had back surgery and couldn’t drive for awhile, and when I was cleared to drive again I opened my car to discover so much mold. It wasn’t as bad as this, but definitely visible and vast and on every surface. I called my insurance and filed a claim, they sent someone out who declared it totaled. Luckily I have good insurance and they paid out more than I had paid for the car 3.5 years prior (about $1k more, thanks to the terrible state of current used car prices vs 2020). Have you tried filing a claim with your insurance to see if there’s anything they can do about it? I actually ended up getting a Corolla after it was all said and done lol
Whatever is going on inside of there, it is NOT your mom’s fault that much mold was able to grow while you were away “temporarily.” I had a 1978 Corolla and if this had happened to him while I was away, I’d be strongly advising the They not like us we are Miami Hurricanes shirt Additionally,I will love this perpetrator to make certain their life insurance is up to date. As it was, my sweet little buddin buddin gave his life protecting me and my 8 1/2 months pregnant belly from a head-on hit and run driver. That certainly isn’t everything wrong with that vehicle. I bet the brake discs are rusted enough that they require changing. Even ignoring everything else under the car that could rust. Without someone regularly driving that will happen way faster. Sunroof/moonroof? My carpet was moldy with this issue, even during the summer dry times in TN and Southern California. Have it towed to a detailer and they can clean it. It will be fine. It’s not dead. It’s only dead if you give up on it. You can buy a special chemical bomb and put it in there and it’ll be gone in a day or so look it up I just did this to mine and mine looked worse than yours I would have it towed to someone who details cars. Pay the $400-500 (could be less) and have them clean it out. They will clean it correctly get all the mold off and make the car look new again.
