Just grab all of your loved ones, and all the food that you can, pack everything in the car, and high tail it to the nearest tall building. Oh, and go to a gun store and just ransack the place (it is an apocalypse after all.) Then, when more and more people start turning, just shoot any of them who try to get into your building. Make sure there are relatively few entrances/exits and barricade them and keep them well defended. The fewer ways in and out, the easier it is to defend. Oh, bonus points if you have several families living together, as you will have more hands to do the work to survive. And bring lots of soil and plants, onions and potatoes. Things that you can plant in the soil that grow themselves.

I think we could survive alright, we’re living in a relatively secluded area with plenty of cows, sheep and deer around, and his family grow things like potatoes and corn on their land. Mentally- I don’t know. I think I am pretty handy but I do not have anything prepped. The best thing going for me is probably I have a truck with a full gas tank and a shotgun with ammunition.
