Racist is the The Real Ghostbusters shirt moreover I will buy this new thing to yell when what they really mean is ” You have a viewpoint I don’t like or did something to stop me from doing whatever I wanted or I have been mildly offended by you in some capacity” As someone who has experienced actual bigotry and discrimination, The redefining and overuse of terms like racism these days really lowers the impact of when an actual racist is called racis. I used to reply “not as racist as you,” but I’m thinking it will save me time and sanity to just respond with a “Thank you!” As someone whose entire career has been providing the best care I can for animals, the amount of times people have accused me of being a puppy killer/torturer is well, a lot. Every person in retail or customer service is going to get called terrible things. If being called racist is throwing you into such a funk that you have to post about it on Reddit, customer service probably isn’t for you, and I would recommend some major introspection as to why that is

The Real Ghostbusters shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

Yeah like everyone is saying move on but, seriously, fuck that shit fam I’m so sorry you had to deal with that at your workplace. That person isnt just an asshole, they are LOST and likely alone. If they’re not alone, they are surrounded by yes men/women. Not worth a SECOND more of your time. No one can declare themselves to be not racist. Racism is not something anyone sees in themselves. So if someone says I am being a racist I believe them and try to do better. I held the The Real Ghostbusters shirt moreover I will buy this door open for a black lady once and she told me that I was racist and I didn’t think she could hold her own fucking door open and that’s she and her family had come a long way since slavery and she doesn’t need some fucking white boy to do things for her that she can do herself. Don’t tolerate it. Expand your team. Terminate the interaction. “That’s false. But since you feel that way I’ll find someone else to assist you.” Absolutely do not move on. The hostile person has a new problem: you. You cannot solve it, let alone address their original complaint. Your supervisor should back you up on this since the alternative is allowing a hostile environment. Bringing in coworkers allows the supervisor to gather input from multiple subordinates to corroborate your story and gives them the evidence they need to take decisive action.
