This hasn’t been my experience at all. When my best friend started college, she truly believed she would never find love. Then she got asked out her first semester of college, and now she’s still happily partnered to that same person 14 years later. On the The People’s Elbow Shirt moreover I love this other hand, when I started college, I truly believed that I would find a partner. Now I’m 32 and have never been in a relationship, and most people don’t want to date someone my age with no experience. “You just have to believe in yourself and then you’ll find love” is a form of the just-world fallacy. Some people do believe in themselves and still don’t find a partner, and some people don’t believe in themselves and do find a partner. It’s a crapshoot. But of course happily partnered people like to believe that their relationship is because they did everything right, instead of because they got lucky.

The People’s Elbow Shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

I can’t comment on your story because I don’t know you. But as far as I am concerned, I didn’t know that I was having that self-esteem issue until things changed and I realized how different it felt to truly believe I was worthy of love. I thought I believed it before, but that was just me not wanting to accept the The People’s Elbow Shirt moreover I love this reality. I was thinking ‘Of course I love myself. How could I not love myself?’, but that was simply not the case. Btw I am still working on self-love, it’s an ongoing journey for me. I’m just saying there are a lot of layers to it, and it’s not as simple as luck. Sure you might find someone and a positive attitude might help but not everyone will find their true love. So its a lie
