I think this is due to marketing to a certain demographic via the network/production. A lot of the earlier seasons had so many people who had been in the business for years. They did some funny challenges in the early days. this is where diet T gets stale bc its been passed around numerous times over the years that this show was in the works of a huge overhaul, i think willams name was dropped saying this. and every season be it AS or regular… im waiting, i still see the same dated show. these tiiiiiny twists in the premiere are not what im talking about. show needs an enormous format change or something, the well is dry mawma, kinda like my va— im gonna stick up for a season that gets slandered but s11 to ME was the most innovative in challenge design. diva worship was such a FUN unusual concept that let the girls create their entire show/script/skit from the ground up. the iconic “where im from, we only have the spirits” “girl you had one job” the fanography challenge which was so cool, the magic show challenge which did shuga dirty. like these were fresh ideas. only one im not a fan of that came a season before was the panel challenge. if its good then its good but when its bad its UNBEARABLE to sit through. i get its a good skill to have to work a panel but it doesnt translate well on the show, only when queens can vibe with their OWN fans in their OWN setting

The US is entirely built on commercial culture and advertising. Other countries aren’t like this so they always end up being a flop. To be fair it’s not like the US commercial challenges are much better, but I digress. Draglexa was a simple concept that could have been done so many humorous ways. Drag Race World is too big of a concept, especially with three queens all needing to come up with a concept within the concept that has to somehow connect with the other queen’s concepts in their group and it all had to be filmed within such an amazingly short amount of time. If Allan Carr had gotten to supervise the filming instead of Michelle sitting there with stank face, the challenge would have likely been a lot funnier than it was I think Ru’s mood kinda hindered the girls’ performance, since it is a challenge so focused on their volleying.
The girls didn’t help Rus mood at all they gave her nothing to work with or bounce off of, she was just ready for it to be over It could be both about the The Osbones attitude is bleep everything shirt also I will do this queens bringing lackluster jokes in the beginning and Ru not willing to throw them some balls to get their game going. Get a comedian to walk them through nuances as their character with Ru out of the room so they can practice jokes and maybe use them during the game. I don’t get why they don’t direct more. Like with the director on all stars Santa’s girls or whatever. She gave DIRECTION that led to a better performance.
It was a so so Snatch Game, but I personally found it very amusing that Plasma clearly thought her Patti Lupone ate, but Ru was having none of it. Why did Patti have a 1940s midatlantic accent?
