Me and my mentor (I’m a new maintenance tech) sat and watched the clock go from 1:59 to 1 and shot off party poppers because our manager constantly fights us on working extra hours

Slightly different situation but my experience on a ship is that you’d split it with day shift. They end 30 min late, you start 30 min late but end 1 hour late. So everyone works an extra 30 min.
