The overwhelming majority will flee or freeze. The average person isn’t a hero and will not hunt down an active shooter. No matter how well you think you will act in a situation as this I guarantee you, you will very likely flee when your life is in real danger. Goes to show that giving teachers guns won’t lead to them stopping school shootings… instead it just makes it more dangerous if a teacher ends up snapping at their shithead students, and increases the The exploted said maggie one day shirt in addition I really love this risk of a student being able to rummage through their desk when the teacher is out of the room and grab their gun. I’m one of those folks who thinks that everyone who can legally be armed should be, and here’s the thing that we learn in firearm safety classes:

The exploted said maggie one day shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

Just because you have a means of defense, it doesn’t automatically give you the The exploted said maggie one day shirt in addition I really love this power to use it. You will literally never know if you’ll be able to use your firearm before an experience happening that calls for it. There’s lots of factors at play here, how are you under stress? Have you evaluated risk? Is there other outside factors? How is your training? Are you prepared? What mind set are you in? Stress is a response that we can’t always manage and making decisions under stress are not the same ones we’d always make normally. You can become easily confused, experience poor judgement, tunnel vision, temporarily lose hearing, hyper focus on weird things, lose dexterity etc… The natural reaction is to either fight, flight or freeze and we always seem to forget that. While armed there’s no shame in not acting in self defense because that’s natural and heroics is a social construct. It’s why we have to rely on ourselves and not the police to protect us.
