Had a co-worker insist that humans live “inside” earth, we explained to him that even though we live within the atmosphere, when you stand outside, you’re standing “on” the planet not “in” it, unless you’re underground or in a cave maybe. I once had a customer come in because she wanted to return the case of water bottles she got because they were made out “100% recycled plastic” It was New Year’s Eve and I was delivering a parcel to a young shop assistant. She was filling in the details and asked me what the date was. I said, “It’s New Year’s Eve, party party,” or words to that effect. She looked at me blankly and said “yea but what’s the date?” I said, “It’s the 31st, same as every year,” and she told me that it isn’t the same date every year. She thought it changed like Easter.

My brother told me with a straight face that you can get carbon monoxide poisoning from drinking too much soda to fast. I know someone who straight up believes that sharks don’t exist. You’d think that was a joke or an obvious gag. Nope. She 100% believes that sharks are made up. I’m not even sure how that’s possible.
