Speaking of that, one of them is so old that he forgot that the Tennessee Strong when you go through deep waters I will be with you shirt moreover I will buy this election is rigged, and is running in the election again! And one was so old that she had to be told, “Just say ‘aye’” during votes, completely unaware of what the vote was. After she was away on medical leave during a time when the party actually had an edge, she pretended she was working the whole time. Then she suddenly died. She was 90 years old. Posts like these help to foment apathy. “Both sides are bad!” May be true in part, but not in whole. It’s like how $100 and $10,000 are both money but I’d prefer one over the other. PSA: don’t let the argument that ‘both sides are old’ stop you from getting to the polls to vote on what you believe in.
Tennessee Strong when you go through deep waters I will be with you shirt: Express with Style
oh i’ll always vote. it has to be done. we all have to advocate for ourselves and what is important to us. it would be nice if we had a better pool of candidates to choose from though. Just because the Tennessee Strong when you go through deep waters I will be with you shirt What’s more,I will buy this Russian system is more rigged doesn’t mean that the American system isn’t. There’s levels to this. Because old people vote and young people get on Reddit and complain about the old people in politics instead of voting. Don’t believe me? Google it. Right and many of the people complaining arnt even voting age. And are also a VERY loud minority. The average American just wants to see their country and them selves do good. And if that means to them to vote for tried and true than that’s what they do. They are a silent majority. The meme of the dude grilling is really true most people arnt as radical and outspoken as the news and internet wants you to think
Money. They have amassed enough over the Tennessee Strong when you go through deep waters I will be with you shirt What’s more,I will buy this years to run a major campaign. And they have enough money to stay alive. They’re old, alive, and rich. Sure we can, but that would honestly mean getting off your ass and running. I have noticed the people who bitch and moan about old people the hardest are the least likely to involve themselves in politics either as candidates or voters I’ve voted in every election I’ve been eligible to participate in, for all the good it’s ever done me, and I’d have to be completely delusional to believe anybody would vote for me. If your country has an ageing population you’re always going to be at a disadvantage and you can’t vote your way out of being a minority demographic If you believe no one would vote for you must believe no one believes in the same things you do. You are right you won’t vote your way out of helplessness if that is all you do. Until you stand for office though don’t claim you have done all you can do.
About Tennessee Strong when you go through deep waters I will be with you shirt
BTW if you think your views are less popular than Deez Nuts who polled at 9% there are probably something wrong with your views So go out and make yourself popular. You go around emoting how bad things are, but ultimately your just too fucking lazy to go out do anything about it Who the Tennessee Strong when you go through deep waters I will be with you shirt What’s more,I will buy this fuck said anything about president? People act like it is the only office there is. Your local and state governments have a far more direct impact on your lives, yet you people are constantly letting far right Karen’s run for these positions often unopposed. Please point out where it says president. Oh, it doesn’t. You have proven that not only do you simply wish to whine, you are also too stupid to read and have no idea what political power is.
Looks what the Tennessee Strong when you go through deep waters I will be with you shirt What’s more,I will buy this people running have to go through. Illegal spying, name drag through the mud, every part of your life analyzed under a microscope. That’s why our best and brightest don’t run for President. Right and when they were voted into the people who voted for them are still alive today! And when they die guess what the younger people will vote younger people in and they will keep being voted in until they and their voters get old and die! They hold on to power for as long as they can which in some instances they do die and someone else takes their place. But they will not relinquesh that power. Because they won’t be around long enough to be accountable for what they have done … Or they get assassinated like the Kennedys . You think Joe will be around in 30 years time for war trials ???
Because that stupid shit Trump won’t get the Tennessee Strong when you go through deep waters I will be with you shirt What’s more,I will buy this fuck out if the way. If he dropped out, Biden probably would as well. Both parties need a major change in leadership the only good thing that will come from 2024 is at least both parties will probably change leadership regardless of who wins. If Biden wins the republicans will say “we tried… okay trump your too old and clearly the people don’t want you time to go bye bye” and if trump wins the democrats will go “okay Biden your way too old and clearly the people don’t want you time to go bye bye” Because the fuckin Democrats keep pushing these manufactured 40 year olds with no solution to our problems. When’s the economy gonna turn around? Why aren’t we getting any snow this year? Why can’t I buy a house? Democrat answer is “hey man don’t worry about it”. Republican answer is “just work harder / it isn’t real”.
Over the Tennessee Strong when you go through deep waters I will be with you shirt What’s more,I will buy this last 30 years I’ve actively watched the Republicans blockade pretty much every single thing that Democrats propose. Only time Republicans allowed Democrats to really pass anything of worth is when they thought of it first. Like NAFTA. NAFTA was originally a Republican proposal. During the Bush Sr. administration. But then he lost the election, Clinton came in and passed NAFTA. Don’t ask why Republicans became anti-nafta after it was passed. I have no clue. Probably because Clinton passed it and they could use it as ammunition. And their supporters are too stupid to remember Republicans thought of it first Well when the stuff Reps want to pass reverses policy created 30, 40, 50, 60+ years ago…. I don’t blame Dems for wanting to block it.
I’m at the Tennessee Strong when you go through deep waters I will be with you shirt What’s more,I will buy this point now that if Republicans want to live in the 1920s they should all just move to Texas and be that way. We can even take away their internet. Make them fully feel like they are back in the good old days. They must stay in power (via a plethora of maneuver others have mentioned herein) until they die or the new blood will certainly hold them accountable for the crimes they’ve committed against the very populations they pretend to represent. Just like McDonald’s is the best hamburger as shown by most sold and number of locations. These politicians are best too because of age and experience To answer your question, you can understand a lot of what goes on in any country by looking at a graph of median age. In 1970 the US median age was 28. Today it’s 39 — two years older than in 2010.
Because the Tennessee Strong when you go through deep waters I will be with you shirt What’s more,I will buy this flawed democracy that elected them based mostly on a weird popularity contest where a majority of people are voting not because they think this person is best for their country but just because they like this person more than the other one Not to mention the average American is so unundicated about how the government works that many of them don’t even realize the power they are giving these people until they have it And this is coming from me a fellow American who is constantly surprised by the fact that most of my fellow Americans did not also take a American government class back in high school that should have explained to them how most of this works Because younger people would have to live w the outcomes of their decisions. What’s happening right now ultimately requires people who don’t give a shit
Baby boomers vote for baby boomers and they vote much more consistently than the Tennessee Strong when you go through deep waters I will be with you shirt What’s more,I will buy this younger generations. Also gerrymandering. Ect. Also, Congress getting older is a reflection of America getting older. See: The difference in age between the median American and median congressperson has stayed remarkably stable for decades. If you’re waiting for congress to become substantially younger, it’s probably not going to happen. People are living longer and the incumbent advantage is strong. This has always happened (look at Strom Thurmond) but is just more frequent today. Maybe this will motivate those under 40 to step up their participation in elections. People just keep staying home and not voting (1/3 of eligible voters in 2020 didn’t vote) and that’s how we got here. Because it’s a giant pyramid scheme and everyone has to bribe and suck up to the guy above them who tends to be just a little older and a little richer The current President of the United States was Vice President for a younger than average President specifically looking for a more experienced running mate to balance his ticket. So it kind of makes sense that he’d be on the older side. And I will note, that plenty of younger than 70 candidates ran in 2020, but 90% of the primary vote went to oldsters. The Senate Majority Leader is 73, the Senate Minority Leader is 82. That’s old, but the Senate skews older as the terms are 6 years.
Welp, I’m not saying the Tennessee Strong when you go through deep waters I will be with you shirt What’s more,I will buy this current people running the government ARE wiser or smarter but just by virtue of being on the earth longer there is absolutely a greater likelihood to know more than a younger person. Trump has a cult of personality that dominates the GOP base. Everyone who doesn’t like Trump has no choice but to unite around one alternative candidate because not doing so will simply risk putting Trump back in power. And because incumbency gets special preference, Biden is the candidate people have to unite around. The Democrats wanted to avoid a primary that would weaken Joe’s ability to fight Trump. Any third party candidate is more likely to steal votes from Biden than Trump – maybe RFK Jr. can pick off a few antivaxxers who think Trump is too liberal on vaccines, but for the most part any third party challenge (Liz Cheney? Joe Manchin?) will just hurt Joe and re-crown Trump. If we did not have a First Past the Post system where we only get one vote, as many alternative candidates as want to run could enter without causing a spoiler effect. We could vote for (or rank) all the candidates we support or at least don’t oppose and we wouldn’t need to rely on whoever the parties have settled for as their nominee.
We let Dark money into our political system. Which turned those jobs in Congress into lifetime appointments. I have been watching the Tennessee Strong when you go through deep waters I will be with you shirt What’s more,I will buy this same people screw this nation up for over 40 years now. I’m tired of hearing Lindsey Graham say one thing on Monday , then go to Maralago on Tuesday , Wednesday & Thursday and on Friday Lindsey Graham would walk back what he said and end up just kissing one man’s ass. Because Biden is (D)ifferent, he is still functioning at high level although for some reason it is not yet captured on camera. Before Covid, back in 2019, the democrats didn’t really expect to win against Trump. Thus, Biden was nominated as a placeholder, because the real election was supposed to be 2024. Unfortunately, implementing chinese-style lockdowns became incredibly popular during the pandemic, crashing the economy, thus removing Trump’s main selling point. Now, Biden is in office, and nobody dares to remove him, because if they’d do, they’d get Kamala Harris instead. Because if the parties put someone younger in office, things will change. Their benefactors won’t appreciate that.
If “We The People” would stop electing the Tennessee Strong when you go through deep waters I will be with you shirt What’s more,I will buy this same old idiots over and over, then we could get things done, but that won’t happen. If you’re liberal, would you vote Vivek over Biden? If you’re conservative, would you vote AOC over Trump? Assuming the answer is no, you’re part of the reason. People care way more about effectuating their policy goals than age, and older people have name recognition as well as coalitions built that cause them to be extremely effective, even if their personal cognitive abilities aren’t at 100%. Old people running the country will stop when people care about that and are willing to vote for people with an opposing ideology to them that is young, that is to say probably never.
Well, it doesn’t help that most people don’t vote for younger candidates. Very often the Tennessee Strong when you go through deep waters I will be with you shirt What’s more,I will buy this older candidates appear more experienced, and subsequently people keep voting for them. It doesn’t help that a lot of the younger candidates available are pretty terrible people. The public just needs to get more involved in politics and run for office. Too few normal people do. Too many crazy people do. Because there are a lot of old people, baby boomers, who vote them in and younger generations don’t vote as much The two-party system has given up on maintaining the illusion that our voices matter. The person who winds up in the oval office is a place-holder. Much easier to run a puppet if they’re senile. Politicians start young and slowly rise through the ranks, which they do by being in direct lockstep with the establishment.
They have mandatory minimum ages to serve but no mandatory requirement age to retire. The median age of America is around 40yo. The life experiences of a 40 yo is much different than those over 75yo. All politicians should have a mandatory retirement age of 65yo. Turning 65 while serving would just mean they wouldn’t be eligible for reelection. All federal judges should retire at 70 yo. This includes SCOTUS. Because there is an attitude within the Tennessee Strong when you go through deep waters I will be with you shirt What’s more,I will buy this two party system of you have to wait your turn. And we don’t have term limits for Senators and Congressmen so we have all these people that have been in there forever waiting for their turn and it takes forever so they get old and then we get geriatrics fighting to be president.
Fun fact: Of the Tennessee Strong when you go through deep waters I will be with you shirt What’s more,I will buy this 46 Presidents so far, only 12 have been over 60 when elected. Trump and Biden are the only Presidents who were elected over the age of 70 (70 and 78 respectively), but Reagan got close at just shy of 70 by like a month; Clinton was 46, Bush II was 54, and Obama was 47. Generally speaking, it’s considered good to have practical experience in politics when you’re running for high office. Most people don’t want some rando walking off the street to be a Senator, they’d prefer someone who at least has some experience with the legal system and Washington. Only in politics can “Relevant experience in the industry” be considered bad, and given term lengths having high office holders be pretty old makes sense. Most people wouldn’t elect a random 20 year old for Senate (in fact you have to be 35 to even run for President), so if you start at around 40 (a lot of politicians usually have a law degree) then a few terms as governor or Representative can easily add up especially if you started in even lower offices like city council, county management, or state government.
Secondly, there’s a sort of “All of Congress is bad except my guy” bias. Approval ratings for Congress as a whole are usually in the Tennessee Strong when you go through deep waters I will be with you shirt What’s more,I will buy this gutter, but approval ratings among individual Congressmen in their respective districts are much higher; they have to be, they get re-elected, that’s how elections work. When Johnny McFuckface in Montana gets $50M for a bridge in Bumfuck, Nowhere then it’s a clear waste of federal funding for everyone except the guys in the great town of Bumfuck… and only Bumfuck residents matter for re-election. Thirdly, there is also a prominent “I’ve heard of that name before” bias (like, say, being a host of a TV show and having your one serious skill be promoting your own brand which is your own last name). Most people are pretty low-information when it comes to politics, and this is more pronounced the further away you get from the Presidency (and even then the amount of people who have no idea what even their preferred candidate feels about anything is ludicrous). The incumbency bias is pretty strong in part because the incumbent is a name that voters have heard of; when I voted in the last election, I couldn’t tell you who was on the school board in my town.
Because those are the Tennessee Strong when you go through deep waters I will be with you shirt What’s more,I will buy this people chosen by the people who are actually running things, like the oligarchs and the bureaucrats in the parties. They don’t care if Biden, for example, does his job well or is popular. They just know that he is their friend and will protect their interests. When they find politicians like that, they hold onto them forever. And thanks to the “blue no matter who” voters and their counterparts on the right, the people in power know that literally any candidate they give us will get the votes as long as they have the right letter and color next to their name. So they pick the ones whom they control. There is a lot of cynicism in here, but the honest to god reason is that Gen X just didn’t produce good politicians that can run for office.
