Size is an advantage only as long as it provides something actually useful to the Team Baseball Bats Texas A&M Aggies It Means More Here t shirt Additionally,I will love this war. It might provide more space for crops, and a larger population, but if that doesn’t convert to a stronger economy or a bigger military it’s all worthless in a war. Yes to give another example besides Vietnam etc. The Netherlands beat the Spanish in the 80-year war. Mostly cause the logistics of waging a war far away are a major nuisance. Walking your troops from Spain via Italy costs a lot of money if you want to do that for 80 years. So after a while the Spanish just stopped bothering. That’s normally how it happens yes. The small country has some sort of advantage (financial, logistical, technological, in terms of morale) and/or the larger country gets tired of the bs and stops bothering. terrain can also be a big advantage, troops being used and prepared to the climate and location can mean a lot.

Team Baseball Bats Texas A&M Aggies It Means More Here t shirt- About us

Yes, well, in war, anything possible can happen, and there’s a lot of historical events were the Team Baseball Bats Texas A&M Aggies It Means More Here t shirt Additionally,I will love this smaller army has won against an army twice as large. One of the most famous battles is the Battle of Cannae between the Roman Empire and Hannibal Barca. Oversimplified made a banger of a video about this. “Unless… we could make a stand and use their own numbers against them, tricking them into a trap that lets us kill them all.” You don’t have to win, just have drag war much that against country find it much profit losing the war rather draging it. John I became king of Portugal after he led the resistance against an invasion by the much larger Crown of Castille. Look at afghanistan, Vietnam or Iraq. They are exactly small, but their military power is ridiculous compared to US, but they still won the war yeah man being exiled into caves in your own country for 20 years until the attackers left is definitively a dub That’s how guerrilla warfare works. I don’t see how you could possibly declare the War in Afghanistan to be a comprehensive victory for the Americans. The Taliban are now in charge of the entire country. Although the US was successful in Iraq eventually. Probably still a good example foe how long even a ‘success’ can drag out.
Israel was initially attacked by a lot of their neighbors together and they got more land after that war, some of it they gave up to reach an agreement if I understand right. Thats literally considered the Team Baseball Bats Texas A&M Aggies It Means More Here t shirt Additionally,I will love this worst war in Israel’s history and far from the first (though even there Israeli troops stopped the offensive when they were close to Cairo) A better example would be the 6 day war where israel more than 3x their land against much bigger mutliple armies in 6 fucking days without any outside help. I do agree that the independence war is impressive. It started at the end of November 1947 and Israeli organizations fought hard and in May 1948 during the war Israel was officially established and the IDF became a thing which is no small feat considering it was 3 different organizations merging into one and they continued the war until they did the impossible of winning against trained armies and militias.

It was brutal and they did gain some good land (that is also mostly recognized today as part of their own) but I still believe 67′ was better. They won hard, Sinai was a good incentive for peace with Egypt. They got east Jerusalem and the Team Baseball Bats Texas A&M Aggies It Means More Here t shirt Additionally,I will love this west bank from Jordanian control (that could cut Israel off easily as from the west bank to the Mediterranean its only 10km) They got the Golan Heights which was a weak point as Syria was attacking Israeli civilians from there easily, they managed to stop the problem caused in the Suaz Canal aswell. Also on a more serious note, do you mean Argentina is a big country? Territorially yes. Population? No. Military technology in the early 1980s? Again, no. Finland did lose, but the extremely poor performance of the Red Army was a key part in the Nazi planning of Operation Barbarossa. All Soviet demands from the ultimatum prior to the war, and then some, were enforced. Finland lost. They fought hard and fought well, but they lost, by any measure of the word.
Finn here, to me a loss would have been losing independence to Russia. We may not have won, but we definitely didn’t lose. Doesn’t matter, it’s still a loss. A very favourable loss for Finland. Summer was coming, Finland was starting to lose. Only if you care about people lost. When soviet union didn’t. In a view of imperialist wars – people are temporary, territories are permanent. Are politicians involved in micromanaging the Team Baseball Bats Texas A&M Aggies It Means More Here t shirt Additionally,I will love this war? Then yes. They will force the military to play games with “country building” b.s.. After the war, Hollywood made lots of propaganda movies how they (Americans) beat the Vietnamese.. Kinda embarrassing and pathetic if you ask me the rice farmer narrative is a racist and massively incorrect one, the US military was almost exclusively fighting a regular professional army In Vietnam there’s a saying roughly translated as “if you win, you’re made a king; if you lose, you make movies”. Sort of unrelated but it makes happy that people are waking up to how bullshit narratives are seen for what they are when it comes to war
Yupp. Afghanistan kicked the Team Baseball Bats Texas A&M Aggies It Means More Here t shirt Additionally,I will love this USA’s ass and sent them running home with their tails between their legs. Ukraine might hurt Russia enough so that they too fuck off back to where they came from. People in small countries fight for their homes at home. Invaders fight on foreign soil where everyone and everything hates them. That’s a generous way of looking at it. The Taliban (what was left of them) scampered away and then came back after the US decided to leave. There are far better examples of smaller nations beating larger ones (others have mentioned Vietnam, Israel, Finland, etc). I mean, by that logic, Poland won WWII because they eventually became a democratic republic again. And the White Russians won in the end because the USSR fell.
The Afghani’s kicked the Team Baseball Bats Texas A&M Aggies It Means More Here t shirt Additionally,I will love this soviets butt long before the Americans. In fact, a lot of scholars attribute the Soviet unions collapse to the shit show in Afghanistan. I guess it depends how you define winning. A smaller country fighting on it’s own territory can wear out a larger country financially and politically through attrition. If you get them to leave, I guess you could call that winning. But, the smaller country didn’t really gain anything beyond continuing their previous existence. I am not sure of an example of a smaller country invading and defeating a larger equally competent country and eventually gaining anything. What would the size of the disparity between “smaller” and “larger” be? Small and big are relative terms sometimes and win depends a lot on the aggressor. If the small country has a lot of empty land and difficult terrain and it just never stops resisting occupation, the larger one will find it hard to occupy it long term even if it has a larger population and better weapons. That happened to several European powers in the Americas over time and to successive countries in the Middle East. The original concentration camps were a British attempt to solve this problem by rounding everyone up in one place so they wouldn’t have to occupy so much empty land. Eventually it just gets too expensive and the aggressor goes home.
If the Team Baseball Bats Texas A&M Aggies It Means More Here t shirt Additionally,I will love this smaller country has a lot of force multipliers vs the larger aggressor it can also just win, albeit sometimes temporarily. Historically you have cases like Sparta and Rome and in modern times Israel where the small country has a large professional military and excellent weapons vs its opponent. There’s a joke that resource-poor Rome’s only export was legions. Israel is a good modern example. Finally there are some examples of a larger power just not taking a smaller one seriously and losing otherwise winnable campaigns. A famous modern one is Austria invading Serbia during WW1. The Serbs had fewer soldiers, fewer guns, and often not even shoes, and the Austrians just expected to roll over them and so made some huge blunders that left their armies open to being out flanked and defeated in detail multiple times. When facing a people who tend to get into trouble by being unreasonably hard core about things, the Austrians somehow expected them to be less than hard core about defending their homes. Ultimately they had to back off and let the Prussians come in and defeat Serbia for them by running a professional campaign.
Is this post a joke? There are MANY examples of this throughout history. How about the Team Baseball Bats Texas A&M Aggies It Means More Here t shirt Additionally,I will love this American Revolutionary War to start with? Alexander III of Macedonia, a small kingdom in northern Greece, conquered the entire Achaemenid Empire, the most powerful state at the time. Look up the Winter War between Russia and Finland. Turns out trying to fight a smaller force who mostly subsist off stoicism, loyalty and vodka ends badly.
Murthy and others tried hard for this? I heard from a few IT guys, during bus rides that their companies have maliciously moved from 5 days to 6 days working and when asked why? they mention “blah blah BS along with Murth’s name”. Just wanted to know If is happening across all companies or just few who like to exploit by increasing 1 day without paying a single rupee extra. So basically, they steal 4 days of working from you per month and in turn gains 20 Lakhs in cost savings per month aka 2. 4 CRores in a Year. But sir avg IT employee is already working 10-12-14 hours per day. 5 x 10 hours lower side = 50 hours already completed in 5 days, I am not even counting travellings time FOR JOB. Edit 2: Some are saying this is a fake post – What is fake? Did Murthy not say #70HoursPerWeek is the Team Baseball Bats Texas A&M Aggies It Means More Here t shirt Additionally,I will love this way going forward? Didn’t other CEOs from Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi companies support him vocally during various conferences openly? Did IT companies change their policies giving the excuse of Murthi and 70hourPerWeek? – Yes so far I heard 2, from 2 different people during Bus ride. There was also a similar post in reddit, I guess last week or so. This is a malicious process, you can see the simple calculations above, which company wouldn’t want that high of cost savings? And If you think your company is run by some Good concerned CEO and Hrs who really care then I have nothing to say about that delusional way of thinking. so it will not happen in one day, but slowly and surely.
Edit 3: Please, I am not asking anyone to start a protest or start hating your “good” company because your manager or HR once in a while acts like your Parent or says pseudo fake concerning words. My aim here is simply spreading awareness, and create more discussion. You like working 80 hours as an employee great keep doing it. You like working 1000 hours per week (relax it’s a joke) as CEO great keep bluffing everyone. Precisely. Slogging at work will increase and could be detrimental to the Team Baseball Bats Texas A&M Aggies It Means More Here t shirt Additionally,I will love this overall productivity reducing the team velocity too. Because they don’t give af about the employee. It’s a meat grinder where employee churn is inevitable. They just want to sell their stocks during the climb up with such news. Investors love it when they see such numbers and news. It causes temporary inflation of stock prices and sales numbers.
Also consider this when costs are reduced on paper, even if numbers remain more or less steady, %profits show higher. More people who move abroad. Indian IT industry will go down. Then these guys will start blaming people that they are not working for India and going abroad. I’ve been fortunate and privileged enough in the Team Baseball Bats Texas A&M Aggies It Means More Here t shirt Additionally,I will love this past to get job offers from outside India, so hopefully I’d be able to do it again? They are not just stealing 4 days, but 50% of your leisure time. Do not let this happen lying down. But, end of the day, times are rough right now with layoffs happening all around, so they are probably testing waters to see what can fly and what cant. This is a situation created by the corporate… They’re not ready to share the profits they make in a reasonable divide. Millionaires want to be billionaires and billionaires want to be trillionaires… I read somewhere that Germany is going to try out four-day work week. Indian Witch companies want to grab this deficit I believe Murthy once said during interview “I travelled 11 hours without ticket to meet sudha during my young days” that MF enjoyed his young days and now wants youngsters to work 70 hrs a week Me working from morning 9:30am to Night 8:30pm starting from Monday to Saturday & salary paid on Nxt month 20th.
I must be really lucky. My company has plenty of issues but they actually addressed this in a townhall meeting and made it very clear that “70 hour weeks” are not a thing in the Team Baseball Bats Texas A&M Aggies It Means More Here t shirt Additionally,I will love this company and will never be an issue. My manager doesn’t really care if I work ‘x’ hours every week as long as I finish my work on time. Mate it depends on the current management/operations team. At the end of the day the final word goes to the greedy shareholders Any source which is mentioning this? You have posted similar couple of days back as well without citing valid source. It will not happen in USA companies, only Indian startups. So indian startups will not be able to hire good talent. And ppl may even take a pay cut to join foreign companies.
Overworking employees is not a new thing, its been always a fantasy for the Team Baseball Bats Texas A&M Aggies It Means More Here t shirt Additionally,I will love this rich owners but it has never worked. Lol and watch people consume less no way in hell. I think we’ll slowly go towards 4 day work week to drive up consumption eventually in years to come. His boomer economics of hardwork don’t make sense in a consumption and service based economy like ours. Just a few weeks ago the founder of my company sent an email saying that we only get 1 hr break including lunch break. We have to work 7hrs a day. I got into an argument with her. She said all MNCs and blah blah companies do this and it’s now new and wrong. I’m baffled by this. 48 hours is pretty standard. People are expected to spend 9 hours at work 5 days a week. That is 45 hours. Most people stay late enough to add up to 48 hours.
In my experience, its better working for a foreign company setup here. They have much better hours and there is some semblance of work life balance. This should come with a pay rise. If one company won’t give there are others who need talented folks, they will pay to match this. I know most of Reddit is filled with people in IT or related fields, but the Team Baseball Bats Texas A&M Aggies It Means More Here t shirt Additionally,I will love this majority of India works in MSMEs and small companies, and they have always been working 6 days a week & more than 70 hours. The people who should be crying are the majority employed in MSMEs, whose owners will say if Infosys people work 70 hours, we should do 100. Anyways, companies cannot officially enforce 70 hours , since it is not according to law. Unoffically , they do. But, not officially. If someone gets the guts to file a court case, then the companies may face problems. Oh, and btw, I think that companies implementing 70 hour, or even 60 hour will change things- bcoz all those didis and bhaiyas will not be able to justify the salaries that people earn, and hence they will run out of business. And all the craze for people going into IT/CS will drastically reduce. It may also happen that people will finally enforce the Govt. to bring better labour laws. Well, I used to work a sold 8 hours everyday. After many years learned to act my wage, match my team velocity and act on it. Legally, they can make anyone work till 48 hours per week officially. So if your firm has 8 hours as defined working hours, they can definitely ask everyone to work for 6 days every week without additional pay. But how many organizations wants to do it is different thing altogether.
But sir we are already working 10-12 hours per day. 5 x 10 hours lower side = 50 hours already completed in 5 days, I am not even counting travellings time FOR JOB. I’m just sharing legal view point. They are well within rights to demand 48 hours of work from you if you are getting monthly salary. Travelling to work, lunch and tea breaks are outside this 48 hours. Our company has always had a 6 day 10 hour per day working day week. We log out on Sat at 7 30 8pm. And they follow sandwich leaves policy – which means if an employee takes leave on Sat & Mon, then, 3 days get deducted as leave. And we have community based festival leaves – ie only Christians can take leave on Christmas, Good Friday etc. The rest of the Team Baseball Bats Texas A&M Aggies It Means More Here t shirt Additionally,I will love this office should work. And we can take only 4 such festival leaves – along with 2 National leaves for 26th January and 15th August. So I was working on both Christmas and New Year’s Day. With only the Sunday in between to relax last year. This year in 2024 Dec we are going to be working the entire last week since Mon happens to be 30th Dec and Sat happens to be 4th Jan. The only positive is that the company is fully remote working – so I’d rather work 55 – 60 hours a week rather than spend 2-3 hours everyday in the nightmarish infamous Bangalore traffic.
Given a chance they will make you work 24/7 for no extra pay and there are inexperienced fools who will take it up also because they think they are going to be settled in life. Always remember you are extremely replaceable by any company that is looking to make profits. And it’s taking a huge toll on the Team Baseball Bats Texas A&M Aggies It Means More Here t shirt Additionally,I will love this mental health of professionals, how is anybody getting any time to do other things? No wonder everyone is drunk on the weekends Europe is going the other way for 10 hr x 4 days a week. If they attempt something like this we would see mass resignations in the industry. OP didn’t even name one mainstream company which has moved to a 6 day week. Just that they heard from somebody in bus. And now a bunch of us have “heard this on reddit”.
Don’t worry it’s far from reality unless you work in starups. And it’s clear from labour law work should be only for 9 hours per day and if goes beyond, it has to be compensated. If the Team Baseball Bats Texas A&M Aggies It Means More Here t shirt Additionally,I will love this 6Days a week becomes the new norm, I will go back to my village and start agriculture as the primary means of income, can’t work for 6 Days a week, I really can’t.p China did not become #1 by people working 40 hours per week and only 5 day. They became that economy by working 6 days for 12hrs per day. One of my PG room mates, had to do lot of boot licking of German professors. After that the professor wrote a letter for him, based on which he went to German college for Masters. He was just pass-out from Chennai college, and just after one job in Indian It company he was done with Indian companies. Last I know he was still in Germany. This was in 2018. I think now there are many agencies and promotional programme’s, Germany wants Indian tech people.
