The idiots who cause you to wait 10 mins on the Tattoos And Skulls Make Me Happy You Not So Much T Shirt Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this plane just turn into idiots who cause you to wait 10 mins at the gate – except that now you have to add the actual boarding time on top of that. The only thing to come out of all this research is that there is some advantage in dividing the plane into two or three sections and boarding each section separately and a lot of airlines do this. I wonder if having the boarding area seats arranged and assigned the same way the plane is laid out would have a positive effect on boarding times. You get your ticket and go to the boarding area and you find “your” seat there and then board the rear of the plane to the front. (1) It would mean having to have space for as many seats as there are on the plane – which is rarely the case at most airports

(2) Different types of plane, with different seating layouts can leave from the Tattoos And Skulls Make Me Happy You Not So Much T Shirt Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this same gate and sometimes the gate isn’t allocated till late in the process. This would mean flight staff having to rush around re-arranging seats between flights. (3) And we are dealing with human beings here, not robots. The same kind of humans that cannot form a queue at a store checkout without cutting in line, that cut you up in their cars and that are more interested in shouting at their kids than sitting in the right place. Can you imagine having to organise that? People would probably intentionally delay getting their ticket, so that they can sit in the front, just to be first to get off the plane at the destination. United, which does “boarding groups” absolutely takes seat position into account. Flying coach, if I choose a window seat, I’m generally in boarding group #3…but if I choose aisle, it’s boarding group #5 (I assume those stuck in window seats are #4)…this at least helps to ensure that folks aren’t having to move back into the aisle to allow people to get to other seats in a given row.
But more to OP’s original question, as others have stated, it’s because ultimately it doesn’t matter…first class class folks will always want to board first, and you’ll always have larger families and groups that don’t want to get split up. Plus, in this age of having to pay for checked bags, you also have to consider that overhead bin space is a valuable commodity…so even if folks don’t care as much about when they get to their seat on the Tattoos And Skulls Make Me Happy You Not So Much T Shirt Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this plane, they may care about being able to stow their bag near them on the flight, and thus desire to board early enough to ensure that is the case. I’ve never had a first class seat, but if I did I wouldn’t want people walking all over me in my seat or hanging over me to shove bags into the overhead bins.

Luxury first class (lay flats/showers etc) is also boarded from a separate door, so coach folks don’t even go through it. So does Allegient. I flew with them to Arizona last year and it actually was a pretty smooth boarding process. They let disabled people and active duty military board first, followed by veterans and people who upgraded to priority, then they split everyone else into boarding groups B, C and D and call them in that order. If you don’t have the Tattoos And Skulls Make Me Happy You Not So Much T Shirt Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this proper pass for the group boarding you get turning away until your group is called. Not sure how true it is but I’ve seen it brought up a lot when someone asks this. Supposedly the fastest way to board is just going free for all, just let everyone board at once. Even though its slightly faster airlines don’t do it that way because they can charge you more for early boarding
Tbh it sounds like having extra employees and renovating terminals to have assigned seating was a bigger factor that the Tattoos And Skulls Make Me Happy You Not So Much T Shirt Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this efficiency of boarding the plane. I can’t see why it wouldn’t help, if not with time at least with customer satisfaction That is surprising. I took Southwest for the first time the other month. Doesn’t have assigned seats but does have boarding groups and numbers. People seemed pretty good lining up in numerical order when told to at the gate. Stuff like loading baggage, routine checks, etc take longer than boarding, so there’s very little incentive for them to change. Plus, it’d probably take nearly as much time to get people to line up in the correct order as the current system. I’m not convinced there’s much we can do to decrease wait time. It’s just a matter of waiting at the gate vs waiting in the plane aisle.
IIRC Mythbusters did a bit on this and determined that “completely random” was actually the Tattoos And Skulls Make Me Happy You Not So Much T Shirt Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this most efficient method. On a recent flight, of course they had let people who needed assistance board first. The attendants got a guy out of a wheelchair, and put him in an aisle seat. I was in the window seat, he couldn’t stand to let me in, and of course I wasn’t about to climb over him. It took a few painful minutes for him to scooch over into the window seat because he couldn’t use his legs at all and barely had arm strength. Meanwhile, everybody behind me was just standing there waiting as there wasn’t anywhere for me to get out of the way. I don’t know what they thought was going to happen. Some parts of loading people onto a plane present challenges that have no fix. Those who require an aisle chair to board an aircraft generally prefer to do so when the aircraft is empty and prefer or require an aisle seat as transferring over can be difficult. It’s not that the agents weren’t thinking; there are just no alternative options. I used to page the window and middle seat passengers in situations like this and most were not interested in boarding the plane 40 minutes early knowing that getting out of their seat would not be quick or simple.
Yep. Money talks. Your way would be efficient. They are not concerned about efficiency when they can be making 50% more per body on the Tattoos And Skulls Make Me Happy You Not So Much T Shirt Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this plane for people to feel more important. There is now a service where overweight people can buy an extra seat so they have more room. This can also help with paying for seats that were going to go empty anyway. More profits! Because families sit together and also want to board together. But if you are sitting behind me and want to help usher my 10 year old and her carry-on onto the flight, by all means, go ahead. Exactly, if you are traveling with a 5 year old and an 8 year old, and they are in the inner seats, is anybody going to say “hey kids you go board now and your parent is coming along later?” similarly, if you have someone who is less abled who has someone along to help, obviously they must board together and not be separated.
There have been a lot of studies done on this and the Tattoos And Skulls Make Me Happy You Not So Much T Shirt Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this biggest issue is putting your baggage in the overhead component really screws up the flow and you end up actually shower overall. Airplane CG, you want to keep the majority of the weight forward of the MLG to prevent the aircraft from tipping back. If you were to load people in the back before the aircraft was refueled or the bags loaded, it’s very possible for it to tip back on it’s tail. The unpleasant truth is that the airlines want, even more than you do, a fast and efficient boarding process. For them, time literally equals money. To that end, they’ve had teams of experts studying this exact issue for decades. They’ve never come up with anything that works better.
If everyone was traveling alone and they mandated that everyone be at the Tattoos And Skulls Make Me Happy You Not So Much T Shirt Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this gate prior to starting boarding maybe, but that doesn’t really make logistical sense otherwise. When I’m traveling with my kids, I’m waiting until the end to board so they can use the bathroom right before and not be cooped up any longer than necessary. Doesn’t matter where on the plane our seats are. Considering how many passengers there are on a plane, boarding really doesn’t even take that long. It’s because the special seats and tickets get priority on overhead storage. If you start from the back to front, it’s the cheap seats to the expensive and the expensive seats then don’t become worth it if your carry on has to be checked because the bins are full when you get on.
Still wouldn’t stop idiots from blocking the Tattoos And Skulls Make Me Happy You Not So Much T Shirt Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this whole row to try to stuff their oversized bag in the compartment. I can understand it with older people, but why people can’t do it from within the row itself instead of blocking everyone is beyond me There is a good youtube video on the subject showing the time different betwen different ways of boarding. But the difference are minimal between different ways so breaking up groups for a minute less ain’t worth it. Only thing worth doing is removing fixed seating and just let everyone just sit wherever and just shovel them on like cattle that saves kinda alot of time. Amongst other reasons, because they want to board reasonably quickly. Boarding from back to front is one of the slowest ways to board a plane because everyone has to wait for the first guy in line to sit down in order to sit down themselves. Random boarding is quicker. If you literally went back to front you could do it in like 5 minutes. You’re not “waiting” on the guy in the back. Seat 32 man walks all the way back while seat 31 lady is literally RIGHT behind him and arrives at her seat immediately after he gets to his. It’s not like they send them one at a time and wait until they’re at their seat to release the next passenger.
No she isn’t. The person behind 32A is 32B, who must wait for 32A to sit down before they can. Assuming a narrow-body jet, 31A is SIX positions back from 32A and is nowhere near her row yet. Hmm, that does actually make some sense. I’m sure there have been actual studies done on this and to some degree airlines have to be about efficiency to maximize profits too, rather than just charging first class and priority boarding a boatload. They still have to load and unload quickly to keep their schedules, so I’d be surprised if the Tattoos And Skulls Make Me Happy You Not So Much T Shirt Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this way they do it now is far slower than the optimal method. If I remember right the most efficient way to board a plane is actually totally random. That way people are settling in in random locations around the plane at the same time – instead of bunched up. The problem with that is that people like being special, they want to be grouped above other people even if it make the overall experience worse. Just curious–how does the Southwest method of boarding–where you just have a boarding position and sit wherever you want–compare to other boarding methods in terms of time? It seems like it could be worse because there’s almost no semblance of front-to-back that may exist with traditional airline zones, and the middle seats are almost always taken last requiring the aisle seat passenger to stand up.
I have never understood this. Do window seats in the Tattoos And Skulls Make Me Happy You Not So Much T Shirt Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this back third, then middle seats in the back third and windows in the next third. Airlines should adopt Southwest’s boarding numbers BUT with seats. Everyone has to line up in order and then go to their assigned seats. And actually have flight attendants monitor carry on sizes along with people putting bags nowhere near their row. Because it doesn’t make a damn bit of difference. It would take longer, you’d be splitting families up and sorry I’m not letting my little kid get put in a different line than me in the airport where I can’t see them. Sorry not happening. You want to board without much hassle then get priority boarding. You don’t even have to pay for it if you have good credit. Just get a credit card that gives you airline perks like priority boarding and lounge access just for having it. Or join the airline’s mileage club and redeem. Or if you don’t fly enough for any of this to make sense then just suck it up and deal with it.
Seems like the Tattoos And Skulls Make Me Happy You Not So Much T Shirt Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this best thing would be to get rid of carry on bags and make you check everything. That would stop the “stowing” slowdown. Nobody wants that though. Ideally, in a 6 wide centre aisle, you would the back row to board first, followed by the 6th row, who should be able to seat themselves as the back row is getting themselves organised, and the 12th and 18th rows. Or maybe left 3 back, right three 6th, ect Like learning how to ride in a school bus as a child? Training is already there, so we have to assume it didn’t take. The real reason is because people are arseholes and there will always be someone that insists on boarding when they want. Airplanes often say they are now boarding the back third of the plane and give row numbers that are boarding now. Every single time there will be someone from the front third of the plane that will insist on boarding early.
Because of groups that fly together (they usually pick seats next to each other). Groups tend to try to board with the Tattoos And Skulls Make Me Happy You Not So Much T Shirt Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this first member even though the fair thing would be to have them board with the last member. It’s so much worse this year than it was last year and I don’t know why. Mostly with 8th graders. Some 7th graders, but not as many. I give them a more structured project? They don’t want to do it. I give them something more open-ended and choice based? They don’t want to do it. I give them clay? They don’t even want to do that. What’s worse, is when they conflate “I don’t want to do this” with “I don’t have to do this.” Or the somehow even more insulting, “I’m gonna scribble on a piece of paper and hand it in as done.”
I remind them that creativity and effort are the Tattoos And Skulls Make Me Happy You Not So Much T Shirt Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this main components of their rubric and will reflect on their grade if they sit around and use the period as a social hour. It doesn’t change. I know art isn’t for everyone so I can’t always win. But I try so hard to make my projects fun and engaging and right now I just feel like I’m failing. I just can’t wait for this trimester to be over. At least then I can try to start fresh with the new groups.Schools are now lord of the flies. Why do the kids do this? Because they can. What a shock that making every kid feel comfortable every second of the day while simultaneously having access to the internet in their pocket made them realize they can get away with doing jack shit 24/7.
Students shouldn’t be allowed to have their phones out in school. Teachers also put them on the Tattoos And Skulls Make Me Happy You Not So Much T Shirt Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this computers way too much. Yes and no. I have been teaching mostly on paper / photocopies the whole year unless the printer is down, and i still feel like they’re not curious. We’re talking about sports now, read two articles about young Latino athletes and nothing, they didn’t want to do more, just get the questions done and over with. Even more than that sometimes they don’t even try with the questions. If it’s not a multiple choice, good luck getting some of them to put effort in giving a quality answer i agree. i definitely like doing stuff on the computer bc it’s just more organized for me personally and less to carry around. however what i HATE is reading on the computer. my adhd brain just can’t do it. our district tests for english are online and reading on that screen is just so difficult. it doesn’t even have a highlighting option
Music teacher here… It’s the Tattoos And Skulls Make Me Happy You Not So Much T Shirt Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this same with us. I’m in elementary now, but when I was teaching middle and high school the apathy was absolutely pathetic. It’s the fact that we’re asking them to do something. It hardly matters what the activity is. Middle school band also. I teach general music throughout that day, and have volunteer beginning band. Before break we had about 75 in the beginning band, but after break it’s been halved…. Just because they don’t want to do stuff after school… unfortunately it is volunteer so I can’t tie grades to it, but it wouldn’t matter. They’re tired. They’re growing. So I wanted to go home and nap instead of after school band/orchestra. I hated mornings but if my friends were doing it, I’d go as well. So there’s always kind of been that. The lack of intellectual curiosity down here in K has me gobsmacked. They’re very passive learners. They’re not passive during recess or music, PE or free choice. But we had to teach them to ask questions. Like basic questions. Also consider the age at Covid. A lot has to do with the age of the kid during lockdown. I know, it’s exhausting. I agree! They are exhausted! We are a low performing school, so the school took away more special time in the spring… it’s kinda awful. It used to be an hour a week in each special, and now it’s 30 min a day. And cut PE time in half also.
We don’t want to teach to the Tattoos And Skulls Make Me Happy You Not So Much T Shirt Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this test, so the kids feel that. They bought new curriculum this year and it sucks compared to the old, and we’re a little cranky about it, so your admin cuts the stuff that brings the kids back the next day. i’m a senior in high school right now and i relate in a way. the teachers will do something fun for us and my classmates will just complain saying “this is so stupid” but then they also complain when the teachers just stand in front of the classroom and lecture. like pick a struggle… it’s so frustrating and because of that i overcompensate and make sure to show my teachers my appreciation for the projects that they spend time to come up with and put together We appreciate you and students like you, believe me. If only we had ten students like you in our classes of 28-34 people it would already make a difference. i wish there were more people like me in the least egotistical way possible. we just need more students and parents appreciating our teachers for what they do. what a lot of kids don’t realize is the reason they get treated badly by teachers is because they’re dicks to them. i have never had a problem with a teacher except for last year because she didn’t follow my 504 and she was just passive aggressive and condescending but that wasn’t just to me. apparently all the guidance counselors hate her and want her fired but that still wasn’t my fault because even when she was being rude to me, i was still nice. even the time when she said i couldn’t have been sick for 4 days. i’ll admit i was slightly passive aggressive because i said “i’ll send you a picture of my trashcan filled to the rim with tissues” but other than that, i’ve always had amazing relationships with my teachers because i ALWAYS respect and appreciate them
