I can’t remember who said it but they said something like ‘I would rather cry in a BMW than a rusted-out van with bald tires.’ That’s true. Sometimes I think, with how the Take Brandon To The Train Station Yellowstone Shirt moreover I will buy this world/life is, who wouldn’t be depressed and anxious in this environment?? It’s true, things are bleak right now. That doesn’t negate the impact that therapy can have despite financial hardships. I worry this post might be used by some who have other underlying issues to avoid seeking help. Many therapists work on a sliding scale for exactly this reason. If you need help it’s ok to seek it. This is a horrible post. It’s literally telling people who are already feeling trapped, that the things that are literally proven to help them won’t help will just make it all feel hopeless.

Yeah your work situation might suck but shouldn’t you do what you can to feel happy despite that? You can’t help others or change things without helping yourself first and not feeling shitty doesn’t mean you’re being complicit. The upvotes are because it feels snappy. It takes a glance’s worth of effort to press that orange arrow, so people do. I wouldn’t say this honestly reflects the Take Brandon To The Train Station Yellowstone Shirt moreover I will buy this deeply held beliefs of people here. But you’re very right in that, sometimes, people will use stuff like this to deflect away from seeking help on what they can control. I think that this is also kind of a reaction to all the people perpetually peddling self help as a way to optimize your way out of poverty or whatever. I think both extremes have a great deal of potential to hurt people, either by trapping them at rock bottom or trapping them in an eternal treadmill of being misdirected inward to fix problems that are external, like being underpaid or just being in poverty in general. But therapy and other forms of psychological and psychiatric intervention can fix a lot and people should utilize them if they have the means.
