“Old” money has nothing to prove – “new” money has to show off and let people know who they are and how much money they have. I had a friend of a friend – multi, multi-millionaire (oil). They no longer feel the need to show it. People who aren’t used to money or have let it go to their head will show it off with ultra nice cars, clothes, that sorta thing. But people who are very wealthy and also know what it’s like will just try to be comfortable. Look at Adam Sandler, he legit just wears normal house clothes for a guy, same with Justin Bieber (slightly different story but)
