Centrism assumes that there exists a middle ground between the SURFING THE GREAT WAVE Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this “extremes” of both sides on every issue but there really isn’t. What is the middle-ground between war and peace, what is the middle ground between freedom and slavery, segregation and freedom? Tell me what is the enlightened middle ground between the right wing belief that Trans people should be legislated out of existence, and the left wing belief that trans people should have the exact same access to the same gender affirming health care procedures cis gender people have. Trans people can have access to medical care but only after they’ve proven to a bunch of cisgender politicians and doctors who start from the position that trans people don’t really exist that they are trans? Trans people can change their names and legal gender but only if they’re on hormones, and undergone surgery whether they want it or not?

You are giving their beliefs legitimacy which is entirely unearned, and they thrive on it. They are a parasitic organism, the legitimacy given to them by “centrism” is what allows them to disguise themselves as an actual political ideology rather than a hate factory. It’s why they can present their groomer panic as “we just care about protecting the children” out of one side of their mouth whilst forcing 9 year old rape victims to give birh and defending institutional child marriage. They want you and me to suffer and die, and they are gonna make a hell of a profit doing it, and you want to tell me both sides are worthy of consideration? Kindly fuck off if you think that. Even idealised centrism, the kind of centrism that “centrism is supposed to be” according to comments in this thread, just preserves the status quo. Ignoring that the current status quo is extremely harmful to multitudes of people to the great benefit of a select few. Nothing will ever get better without radical beliefs.
