Combos, parries, counters, stance-breaking, are all cool mechanics. But then bosses’ attacks are almost all uninterruptible and very fast. So you just end up blocking and rolling most of the fight and learning where you can get in a single light attack. Then it’s back to more rolling. As a player of all soulsborne games, minus demon souls, about 98% of the time I realized I died because I made a mistake. Rarely do I feel that my death was pure Bs. I just remembered what I did wrong and try again. However, if you are the player who gets upset at every death or any obstacle, then no. This game is really about learning by trial and error. because of the staggering amount of unique bosses and enemies, you are almost guaranteed to die a lot until you learn how to beat them with your own set up. For new bosses I usually die at least 3 times or more until I learn their attack patterns.
