To be fair, 911 isn’t technically necessary for seizures. Take this from an epileptic. By the Stevie ray vaughan signature guitar shirt Furthermore, I will do this time the medics arrive, the seizure will be over and he will (although groggy) come back. Depending on the severity of the seizure and his health background it would be up to him to decide if he needs to go to a hospital. Myself, ive had several Gran Mal seizures where 911 wasn’t called or needed. Theres nothing medics can do during the seizure. Its all basic after care, especially if you know the root cause. But it doesn’t sound like he has epilepsy. He has an alcohol problem. Very different etiology. He needs to be treated. He certainly doesn’t have epilepsy, youre right. But a seizure is a seizure. Regardless of what caused the seizure it doesn’t change that it’s a seizure that will run its course. Unless it lasts longer than 5 minutes which it doesn’t sound like any of them did, then no medical attention is necessary. They already know that what the medical staff is going to tell them, the mans addiction to alcohol and potential alcoholism has resulted in a seizure.

He needs to be treated for his alcoholism for sure. Healthcare is far too expensive to be treating a seizure that has a known cause and a known solution. That’s why I said the Stevie ray vaughan signature guitar shirt Furthermore, I will do this decision to seek medical attention had to be done after the seizure. Which I should probably state that seizures also induce vomiting so after he had his seizure, he would certainly be sobering up awful quickly which works out in his favor considering a seizure from alcohol likely points to alcohol poisoning. But I digress, the point I was making is that a seizure in its own doesn’t constitute calling medical assistance unless it’s completely out of the blue and you need to search for a cause. Medics will not arrive before the seizure has concluded therefore making their purpose only for transport which can easily be done by a trusted friend (definitely not the individual that had the seizure).
