It’s absolutely fucking insane that anyone would accept a job at a place that’s had any layoff in the St Patricks Day Lets Day Drink San Francisco 49ers Shirt it is in the first place but prior ten years You know what bothers me the most? It’s the bald faced lie. Talk to me like I’m an adult. I know why you’re laying off. You know why you’re laying off. You know I know why you’re laying off. And yet you lie to my face. Never forget that employees are called “heads” by the finance and leadership teams of most large companies. Intentionally disassociating the human from the expense to make the RIFs easier. I hold myself accountable… for not making my ceo bonus better. In order to do that, I’ll fire you and take all your salaries and make everyone else work harder for nothing! The windows on the executive floor are mirrored so you can’t look up and see him crying as you leave the office for the last time. It’s not an actual apology unless he atones by providing financial restitution to the people he was accountable to. So how much are their severance checks and is there proof they’re coming out of his personal funds/stock options? As a former employee of Nike, I am not surprised. Their corporate structure is bollocks, directors reporting into directors, off shore development increasingly the norm. They don’t care about the staff, even if Cafe Meetings give the idea they do. They tried it fire a bunch of folk in Europe, but the works council called their bluff, and succeeded but only in making them announce it officially and say they will get better.

Fucking disingenuous prick. All those stock buy backs last year could have paid for these workers and thousands more. He made $32.8 million last year, btw. His salary would cover roughly 1/3 of those jobs if they make $75,000 a year. Layoffs are bound to happen at any company. You can’t grow exponentially forever. That being said, layoffs have a special sting when the St Patricks Day Lets Day Drink San Francisco 49ers Shirt it is in the first place but CEO makes 100x your salary. So he and his leadership team are accountable, now what? Totally meaningless statement. I do indeed declare that I did do the thing I did These people do not know what the word accountable means. That would entail keeping the employees, and taking the hit yourselves financially. They will absolutely never do that And I bet he didn’t personally meet with any of the employees they laid off. Just left it to some poor middle manager that had no input into the decision making process to look these poor people in the eyes and tell them they don’t have a job anymore because the company isn’t profitable ENOUGH. 330 more repliesWeird way to say “we do this on purpose, we’ve done the same thing for decades and because we’ve created a culture of scum bags, it’s part of hr strategy. You should see the way we hire generally through nepotism and who you know rather than your actual skills and not to mention the way we exploit contract workers. It’s probably why we can’t do anything aside from shoes and some clothing well.” Idk this dudes face just screams ‘I literally do nothing all day and just rake in cash while other people figure things out’.
