Yeah I think Home Office caught wind of it, or just didn’t realize they had people making that kind of money at hourly and that’s why they started phasing out those positions lol. And yes, someone did make that actual remark to me (at my store ofc) that OP shared so of course, I defended myself. And of course, Darren ftfo’d and demanded a manager. Customer proceeded to cry and play victim saying that I was “rude” and “disrespectful”. I mean, I’ve heard management literally not even acknowledge people who ranked below them as if they didn’t exist. The funny part about that is how underpaid and unqualified most of those “managers” are. Our store did only $65 million and the assistants told me they made $60k or less. I made $70k at Marshall’s and $76k at Primark. Now I’m GM at Forever 21 and make way more. Walmart seems to mainly hire managers with no college and experience cause they come cheap. You see this when you really look around their buildings. Ton of outs that are never ever filled, AWFUL stockrooms, zero morale, no control of shrink, no accountability for turning high margin items like apparel or warranties, poor hiring and never firing terrible workers. I guess in short my point is they don’t/can’t run the business, the business runs them.
