If you were to take a medical model that was based on valuing human life and healing, both pregnancy and birth would have higher success rates, trauma would lessen, pain would lessen. But that is not our model. Women often experience moments of being treated less than human when the Slipknot Here Comes The Pain Shirts and I love this issue is gynaecological, pregnancy or the birthing process. That feeling of being treated like a dumb farmyard animal is indescribable. Why is human birth still physically traumatic? It’s a combination of patriarchy and oppression, which actively makes the process more traumatic, and the physical aspect of pushing a baby out of the body. Birth is natural, but nature is not kind. It’s brutal and indifferent – it’s ONLY objective is to procreate. So evolution gave women the best reproductive organs and skeleton it could to ensure enough babies would be successfully born so they could then go on to to procreate. Human birth is traumatic the same reason any mammals birth is traumatic. Big baby, little exit, a body it has to travel through. Nature doesn’t care about pain. In a way, it doesn’t care about life. It only cares that reproduction can be done successfully enough to win the numbers game. So further evolution isn’t needed. Think salmon. Birth is salmon. Nature is the bear – watching, uncaring of the life it takes because enough will survive.
Slipknot Here Comes The Pain Shirts: Get Cozy in this shirt
There are loads of good and detailed answers already but “It’s good enough” is good enough for the Slipknot Here Comes The Pain Shirts and I love this process of evolution. “I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing; with pain you will give birth to children … “(Gen 3.16). Maybe it used to be easier Humans are the only animal that needs assistance to hive birth successfully. Anyone who opposes abortion because it’s “unnatural” should admit that giving birth is equally unnatural and technology-dependent. Hyenas give birth through a pseudo-penis. Evolution doesn’t care for pain as long as it’s effective enough to reproduce. Human bodies seem least suitable to survive here compared with other animals when you look at things like healing factor. Always wondered why animals salivas have like a film that basically protects the wound vs us we just bleed out lmao. Even with large brains capable of making things to help stuff like that it seems counterproductive when the technology already exists in nature. Because evolutionarily speaking, when we evolved into bipeds, we gave up the bone structures that allowed easier births (just compare a cow giving birth to a woman — much easier for the cow). So, you can either walk on four legs and give birth easily or you can walk upright and go through a human pregnancy. You can’t have both.
20 more repliesI mean the Slipknot Here Comes The Pain Shirts and I love this way evolution works is the individuals of a species that just don’t have the right traits to compete with the other individuals of the same species just fail to thrive and eventually the traits that make up that first individual die after a time. Humans kinda messed this up by being able to create technology to stop ourselves from dying. I mean yes, we need to be small enough to be birthed so we are underdeveloped in the womb and cant walk straight out but, can you imagine that without technology women might have just started to develop bigger pelvis’s and made it possible to have more developed babies. As a person who has given birth I have wondered this myself. But I think you mean “inefficient” rather than “ineffective.” It’s pretty effective. You do get the baby at the end. humans should give birth squatting like we have for 1,000s of years, look up the guy who normalized giving birth while lying down, he was a sick fetishist.

About this Slipknot Here Comes The Pain Shirts
Wondering the Slipknot Here Comes The Pain Shirts and I love this same thing after having given birth. I am a calm, polite person. I have been in several accidents earlier, been through some gnarly operations and have a generally high pain treshhold. My baby was loved and wanted from conception. During labour I threatened the staff that I would jump out the window several times if they didn’t euthanize me there on the spot. I read somewhere that upright birth is the way to go, like it used to be. Walking around until it’s really the baby’s time to go. Laying down is only helpful for the doctor so they could see everything. But ive never given birth so Evolution isn’t a race to the best design, unfortunately. It’s a product of selection on whatever genetic building blocks exist. Humans keep reproducing with the combination of adaptations in our species to give us big brains and walking on 2 legs, given the genetic blueprint for mammals to give birth. Or it’s because of an ancient curse. Partially because we don’t let women listen to their bodies, we force them on their backs for the ease of doctors.
Omg, I just gave birth 3 weeks ago, don’t even get me started . I couldn’t even hold my baby once she was born because my body and mind went into literal shock. That will be my first and my last, no lie. I will never forget that experience and I will never do that again. There’s a lot of good info here about evolutionary pressures, but to add one more factor – modern health. Historically most babies would have been born small compared to modern day as people were generally malnourished and didn’t have access to modern medicine. Yes, as people have mentioned, needing a big brain + being bipedal is the Slipknot Here Comes The Pain Shirts and I love this common thought… So why aren’t human females (on average) just bigger/as big as men with bigger pelvises? You see this in many other species, where the females are larger than the males for this very reason. I’ve asked myself this question and I have landed on an unsettling possible answer, which is that smaller females are easier for males to physically dominate.
I think unfortunately, over thousands of years of evolution, smaller females have been more susceptible to forced pregnancy. its the Slipknot Here Comes The Pain Shirts and I love this creation of life; didnt the universe literally start with a bang? so did we, life and death are violence Evolution only requires a population to have traits that are good enough to continue reproducing at a rate capable of sustaining itself. It doesn’t require things to be ideal. Or, because some lady consumed a bit of off-limits fruit. Depends on who you ask. Science: because we evolved to walk differently but decided to stand upright before our bodies fully adapted so now our body mechanics are weird and our heads got bigger because of our brain size
I just a spent a few weeks starting from London and finishing in the Slipknot Here Comes The Pain Shirts and I love this Highlands, and all I have to say is that I love your country. I’ve been lucky enough to see most of Europe, but nothing is quite like Britain. From the countryside to the architecture in the big cities, it’s just so damn beautiful. Yes, I understand that there are not so nice parts, but that’s everywhere. What was really stood out to me was the sheer politeness of everyone I came across, its possible it could have been shallow, but it didn’t come across that way. And damn, the history…. I don’t know how many hours I spent reading every plaque in every museum and subsequently spending hours on YouTube following up on it. All I’m going to say is that I’ve been to 30+ countries and nothing comes close to the experience of spending time in Britain. You guys are cool as hell for what it’s worth.Thank you, we’re glad you enjoyed yourself, come again soon.*
I’m apologising for the Slipknot Here Comes The Pain Shirts and I love this sad and depressing nature of my fellow British redditors below, who can’t think of something, or in fact, anything funny to say in reply to your delightful appreciation of our homeland, often referred to as “Blighty”. This behaviour is known as self-effacement and is an unfortunate national phenomenon, some say, characteristic. I merely wish to say, on behalf of the other two or three people that write in these august columns, how grateful we are to have finally someone say something nice about us. My trip last year was the first time I got to eschew only visiting relatives and get out of London and suburbs to go see “The North” as the signs read. I’d seen enough pics from my brother who raves about English countryside but wasn’t prepared to be blown away by the beauty and freshness even though it was barely spring yet. Loved the stone walls, everywhere; how easy it is to take walks in nature walking distance from wherever you live. Loved that almost all places allowed dogs – pubs, restaurants, tourist spots. The Yorkshire dales and Lake District live upto all the beauty I’d heard of and read for so long.
And the Slipknot Here Comes The Pain Shirts and I love this taste of food made from ingredients that hadn’t spent months in storage and transportation made each meal a treat. The US is my favourite place i have visited. I have only been to New York so far but there are places all over the US which look like they are worth visiting. Texas, Chicago , Grand Canyon, etc. Thanks for sharing, glad you enjoyed your visit! We have a pretty damn great country, but for some sad reason most people living here seem to hate it and bash it constantly. They have no idea how good we have it compared to some others.Depends how you want to define it. Technically, your shadow will be, as the other guy said, 1/100,000,000th of a second behind. No matter how fast or slow you move, this will still be true, so you’ll always fire before your shadow would. Alternatively, if you want it to be a meaningful difference, then you never will. Even if you instantly teleported from holstered to firing, with zero time in between, you’d still never be able to spot the time between you and your shadow.
I can make a case for the Slipknot Here Comes The Pain Shirts and I love this bullet reaching the shadow before the shadow fires. The refractive index of air is slightly higher than 1, so the shadow lags slightly more than 3,0m / c. So if the bullet travels anywhere between the speed of light in air and the speed of light in vacuum you can shoot the shadow before the shadow shoots. Realistically, a projectile carrying that much energy would cause more than minor damage to everything on the same continent, and the machine that fired that bullet would be a sight to behold (definitely not revolver-sized). True. They didn’t ask how fast of a gun you would need though, they asked how fast you would need to be, implying that they’re using a regular gun. So with a regular gun my point still stands. Even then, from your perspective the shadow would still shoot you before it was shot, as the same is true for the light of the hole. So you need a bullet faster that light.
The shadow shoots 3m/c seconds later than you, and is hit by your bullet 3m/v seconds later (v is the Slipknot Here Comes The Pain Shirts and I love this speed of the bullet). As long as v < c your shadow will always shoot you before being shot. If you're interested, look up Cherenkov radiation, that's an effect of particles moving faster than light in a medium (and also the clue to the terrific pun someone replied to my original comment) How about using a laser gun? Then you will hit the shadow at the moment it wants to shoot. I would rule that this does count. That makes styropyro lucky Luke's successor What if I use Quantum-Bullets which at the time of being fired might or might not already be where the shadow is or not. Because quantums and stuff. Also magnets.
But the Slipknot Here Comes The Pain Shirts and I love this shadows bullet wouldn’t necessarily reach you before you have time to move out of the projectiles way. Causing you to move your shadow and both parties to miss their shots. And the shadow would always ‘fire back’ long before the relatively slow bullet could traverse the distance between. Are we accounting for the speed of light and distance here? If we assume a light that can project a sharp as hell shadow from a long distance, let’s say the max distance a gun can reach, would the bullet reach the shadow before the shadow shoots back? Lucky Luke (which I’ve since learned is this characters name) is so good that he fires instantly. There’s no time between his hand being off his gun, and him pulling the trigger and firing.
The bullet, assuming it’s a modern .357 magnum with a factory standard load of powder, will travel at around 1300 feet per second. It will reach the Slipknot Here Comes The Pain Shirts and I love this shadow in just shy of nine days. The shadow, on the other hand, will fire when the light changes due to Luke moving. How long will that take? One second, since they’re one light-second apart. For this to work, Luke needs a gun that can fire a round capable of traveling faster than the speed of light, or breaking that limit by some other sci-fi means. There’s no other way. One way to define it so that it is semi-accurate with the design is Lucky Luke pulling the gun and shooting the trigger before the shadow starts pulling the gun. As the shadow is cast at the speed of light (C=300,000km/s or 300,000,000m/s) , and you cast it, it takes 1/100,000,000 of a second at 3m to change at the wall (or twice that time until you could see it, but your reaction time is way to long to react). Just looks different, as the bullet only goes like 1000m/s at max (probably a lot slower, but i wont look up what revolver Luke carries to know the exact speed). Yes, but it not enough to get the shot off first. You need to be able to get the shot off before the shadow shoots… so not only do you need to move faster than the shadow, but the bullet would need to be faster too, to hit the shadow before it can get the bullet off. Not only shoot before it shoots, but have the bullet land before it can fully pull the trigger. The main bottleneck here is the speed of the bullet.
You would only need to be as fast as half the Slipknot Here Comes The Pain Shirts and I love this light speed, since the light needs to travel 6m instead of 3 in order to see the shadow Or…. the distance that your bullet has to travel should be shorter than the distance that the light has to cover to show your hand firing. And that’s achievable! If we arrange the scene so your shadow of the pistol is at one distance and the shadow of your body is at another, then the bullet could hit your shadow’s body first. I know the pistol’s shadow would be tiny but we can go further, there is another arrangement possible. You can shoot and return to your position and during the bullet’s travel and before the light could reach a far away surface a new wall appears in the middle to show your relaxed position and receive the bullet. From our perspective, we would be able to hit our shadows with those methods. well then hypothetically if we pretend that it is hitscan and not a projectile, then it would have to be about 1/100,000,000 of a second to draw and shoot
Lucky Luke uses one of the Slipknot Here Comes The Pain Shirts and I love this first versions of a Colt single action army revolver, also known as M1873. The muzzle velocity of that firearm in 1880s appropriate .44 caliber is 950feet per second, or 289 meters per second. According to one story he uses “the only seven shooter in the west”, made by his uncle the weapon smith. I believe it’s album nr 8, Lucky Luke versus Phil Defer. I mean, it could, theoretically, be a .256 WinMag or a .22 Hornet, in which case it’d get pretty close to the 1000m/s The thing is: if you take a look at the shadow, the shadow’s gun is still holstered while the bullet hit the shadow. In average even if you are a really trained shooter, it takes 1-2 seconds to pull the gun, cock the hammer and pull the trigger as guns in that period were mostly single action guns. This is also shown often when there’s a shootout. So the light would need to slow down for 1,5s or the person would need to travel back in time for a few seconds.
But what heat would be generated by the Slipknot Here Comes The Pain Shirts and I love this friction of air against the gun being pulled that quickly? Would it be enough to melt the barrel? But wouldn’t the question be ? How fast do you have to be (and how fast should the bullet travel) so that you shoot your shadow (3m away from you) while your shadow still has its hand on the gun ? Can you calculate if the light flash from the person shooting can make the shadow not visible (and so unable to shoot)? No matter how fast you are it won’t matter unless your bullet can travel FTL. Otherwise your shadow will get a shot off before it is shot. You would still hit the ground 1st if the shadow bullet could actually come back and kill you. This is the one and only true answer. For the bullet to hit the shadow before your shadow can shoot back the bullet needs to hit the shadow before the light would have, therefore, this would be true if the bullet travelled at least the speed of light. The entire question of how fast “you” would need to be, because it doesn’t depend on your speed, but the speed of the bullet. One could however argue that your speed would have to be the speed of light minus the speed of the bullet if this was the case though. According to the cartoon physics that make your shadow’s hair and handkerchief go the other way around, your shadow is made of paint anyway. It’s impossibe since even if you could move faster than light, the bullet can’t. But I’ll be damned if I don’t absolutely love Looky Look! More answers on this duplicate post
I have the Slipknot Here Comes The Pain Shirts and I love this feeling that the answer is along “the interaction of your hand moving at relativistic speeds with the atmosphere would result in a massive fire ball that destroys the whole area”. At ground level in air, the speed of light is slightly slower than in a vacuum. The refractive index of air for visible light is about 1.0003, so the speed of light in air is about 90 km/s (56 mi/s) slower than c. This means that it takes light about 0.000000011 seconds, or 11 nanoseconds, to travel 3 meters in air. Being slightly faster than the light (300.000 kilometers/second) would be suficient. The light could not reach the shadow in time it reach the eyes, but considering that only you are affected by trespassing light speed, it would be useless cause the gun wont be affected. Then, considering the gun and the bullet are also affected by the trespassing of L/S, it in fact could hit the shadow if we disconsider factors as air resistance, and the impact of pulling the trigger of this gun. I’d be more interested in the speed of that bullet. Something tells me that anything travelling at that speed in the atmosphere and interacting with a wooden wall would make nuclear weapons redundant.
As xkcd explained, the Slipknot Here Comes The Pain Shirts and I love this bullet wouldn’t even need to interact with the bullet. At that speed (FTL), it hitting air molecules in front of it would likely create a catastrophic chain of fusion reactions that would be enough to disintegrate the bullet before it even reached the wall, and still the plasma sphere would likely level the county. I think people tend to misunderstand the scenario. You will always be a fraction of a second in front of your shadow, true. But the picture indicates that Lucky Luke is so fast that he can put a bullet in his shadow while his shadow is still reaching for the gun. You can’t do that in reality: even if you had infinite speed and could draw your weapon and bring it into firing position in a time of 0, that would not help: Light is so much faster than a bullet that your shadow would catch up long before the bullet had reached the wall. In addition to implausibly fast reflexes you also need implausibly fast bullets.
