My comment might get some flack but I don’t equate poor and dumb. There are dumb rich people as well such as Donald Trump. Well, maybe not so rich now. But still. “Ma kids don’t be needing no food cause we can’ts be affording it, but that there billionarie, Donald Trump done gonna be needing ma money!” – every MAGAt ever. Annnnd there goes the Shohei Ohtani is expected to play World Series Game 3 Dave Roberts tells ESPN Poster shirt In addition,I will do this money they donate to him legalfund….oops save America pac…lovers just gotta lose…please buy those tacky gold slippers..makes them easy to spot They vote themselves out of middle class and now giving their money away, oh boy they’re gonna blame the minorities even more This would be an awesome way to launderer $$. Just make up a bunch of email addresses and fake people and donate till you hit your mark. The grift is real. “Let’s see, what should I donate to today? Maybe the local food pantry, my church…I know! I’ll donate it to the New York State treasury!” Someone needs to look into who’s behind those donations, I bet there’s a lot of Russian, Chinese and Saudis in there. Let them sink themselves dry trying to pay for the orange mutant. 200k a day won’t be enough. Watch that money slowly fall into the fog of politics.
Shohei Ohtani is expected to play World Series Game 3 Dave Roberts tells ESPN Poster shirt: best style for you
“Sorry kids, as much as I’d like to buy us all some much needed groceries and keep our heater running. Our leader needs our help. So I’ll be right back, I have to dig into your college fund to buy some ugly ass shoes. Don’t worry, once he’s back in the Shohei Ohtani is expected to play World Series Game 3 Dave Roberts tells ESPN Poster shirt In addition,I will do this white house, we will be reimbursed 10 fold.” Heh. Now all they have to do is repeat that performance every day, in perpetuity, and they’ll JUST be able to stay ahead of the accumulating interest on trump’s debts. The principle will never go down, at those rates of donation. All that fucking interest keeps adding up, Donnie boy. Now ya know how us lowly folk trying to pay off student loans, car payments and mortgages feel. Hey MAGAts, send them to me, I’ll send you an autographed thank you note, which is more than you’ll get from the orange turd …For $50 or more I’ll send you an autographed pic!
I lost everything in a tornado and barely got 5k from a Go Fund Me. I guess I needed to be a lying grifter with multiple felonies and rape convictions. They complain about how unfair medicare is, and that the Shohei Ohtani is expected to play World Series Game 3 Dave Roberts tells ESPN Poster shirt In addition,I will do this deep state is taking their hard earned money to pay for some criminal to pay for their hospital bills, but are happy to contribute to their deepstate criminal’s legal bills. Do people really think that the same people donating to Trump’s funds are also the same people struggling with groceries? Well I could start with my in laws and then add about 150 people from their church and the CEO of the company that I work for and a number of high level staff there as well and some acquaintances from my field of work and should I keep going or you want a list of names and addresses?
About Shohei Ohtani is expected to play World Series Game 3 Dave Roberts tells ESPN Poster shirt
I don’t know if I’ll ever see Trump in a cell, but I get satisfaction in the Shohei Ohtani is expected to play World Series Game 3 Dave Roberts tells ESPN Poster shirt In addition,I will do this fact that every day is going to be worse than the last for him for the rest of his life. It’s precious that funds are being donated to a self proclaimed billionaire with, according to him, legendary business acumen. Apparently there are more suckers ready to hand him their dribs and drabs of cash than you can shake a stick at. If he raised 200,000 a day until the election he’d have raised 40 million, of the roughly 450 million in judgements against him. That’s not counting legal fees. Oh yeah same guys that never go offroad but got their F250radoes lifted and with Mickey Thompsons, and got a pack of I Did That stickers to paste on the gas station pumps they are angry about visiting daily.
Trump is the Shohei Ohtani is expected to play World Series Game 3 Dave Roberts tells ESPN Poster shirt In addition,I will do this grifter like in the old days that convinced granny she had to donate her retirement check for God or else.
Gravity would cause both of them to crash into each other, become weirdly shaped probably and cause a bunch of moonrock shooting towards Earth. Probably cause some rumbling for a short while before the Shohei Ohtani is expected to play World Series Game 3 Dave Roberts tells ESPN Poster shirt In addition,I will do this moon stabled out. Unless the orbit or mass of the moon changed nothing major would happen to the water bodies. The only way I can imagine it being more damaging is if the 2 pieces collapsed onto each other in such a way that it sent huge meteors hurling towards us, or if it pushed the orbit closer to Earth, causing mass destruction via tsunamis. If the halves were pushed apart from each other it’s likely that one half would spiral in and the other would spiral out faster. It’s called Kessler Syndrome and there is even a book where the entire premise is the moon being destroyed by a fast moving object causing moon chunks to rain hellfire on Earth for thousands of years. Technically Kessler Syndrome refers to satellite debris in low Earth orbit but the principle would be the same with moon debris. As long as the pair of half moons have about the same mass as a single moon and they’re located around the moon’s normal location, the force doesn’t change. In short 2 halves equal 1 whole. Yeah, reminds me of what my physics teacher said about the sun if it were a black hole. Gravity-wise, nothing would change for the earth
The thing which affects the Shohei Ohtani is expected to play World Series Game 3 Dave Roberts tells ESPN Poster shirt In addition,I will do this ocean is simply the fact of the moon being so big and close to us. The mass of the moon is what’s pulling so as song as there is no real change in its size or trajectory it should be fine-ish Probably nothing. The ocean’s are only a product of the gravitational pull of the sun and the moon. In all likelihood, it would just ripple out some wholly undetectable gravitational waves and lose a negligible amount of mass Unless either, the two halves cleaved apart into completely separate satellite systems or the moon’s orbit was significantly altered The former means we would have a more complex tide system. Currently it’s essentially a monthly sine wave with a secondary, roughly half amplitude, daily sine wave on top. It’s impossible to say what the new pattern would be but likely the two moons would settle into some orbital resonance (if they maintained their orbit at all) so it wouldn’t look too chaotic
That depends on how far apart the Shohei Ohtani is expected to play World Series Game 3 Dave Roberts tells ESPN Poster shirt In addition,I will do this pieces would be; unless the pieces end up several degrees apart in their orbits the tidal effects would be so similar to the current tidal effect of the moon that no one would notice without looking for it. As far as how the process itself of splitting the moon would affect the earth… Well, in this scenario it’s being done by an all-mighty creator deity, so the closest to a real answer would be “however much or little Allah wants it to.” Though no matter the process, as long as no debris hits the earth, effects would likely be of a similar scale as the tidal effects, almost negligibly small in a local sense but it would basically affect more than half of the earth’s surface.
I think you’ll really enjoy this book The premise is that some unknown force fragments the Shohei Ohtani is expected to play World Series Game 3 Dave Roberts tells ESPN Poster shirt In addition,I will do this moon, and the book is all about the physical and humanitarian fallout. The author (Neal Stephenson) is well known for his habit of nerding out over physics/programming/engineering/etc details, and he totally indulges himself with this book. It’s not his best by any means (my personal fave is Cryptonomicon), but it’s a fantastic look at what might very plausibly happen if the moon were to be destroyed! Assuming a bubble scenario where the moon is not rock but instead made of some pliable substance that doesnt shatter, the mass of it would stay the same and very likey the center of gravity of the moon would not even move in the separation (before the two halves recollided).
This does assume that the Shohei Ohtani is expected to play World Series Game 3 Dave Roberts tells ESPN Poster shirt In addition,I will do this force that is breaking them apart wasn’t strong enough to push them away fast enough so that they wouldn’t be pulled into each other. However, I suspect a force strong enough to do that would likely shatter the moon rather than splitting it cleanly in half. Either was however, since all of the debris would at least somewhat share an orbit over enough time they would reform the moon or give Earth a ring. A good portion would probably be sent towards Earth though, and that would be bad for anything living on it. My answer was based off of the assumption that the final situation of the moon after the split was as depicted in the picture. An Earth ring sounds both cool and terrifying. What would the affects of that be anyways? I don’t really know enough about how ring formation works but I am guessing it would be pretty deadly at least at first.
I don’t know a lot about rings either. The biggest effect I can think of would be on the Shohei Ohtani is expected to play World Series Game 3 Dave Roberts tells ESPN Poster shirt In addition,I will do this ocean tides. Since the gravitational force of the ‘moon’ would be spread out the tides would work completely differently. Literally the plot of Seveneves. Moon breaks up, rocks are made, exponential growth happens, and life on earth ends. The 2 pieces of the moon? They would probably clump together into smaller moons and cause significant changes in our wave system in the oceans. Otherwise, if they are beyond the Roche limit, they will crumble and give the Earth rings. For example, if there was just a big cut down the center with only a few centimetres spread apart, not a lot would actually happen, I think.
The precipitating event in Seveneves is that the Shohei Ohtani is expected to play World Series Game 3 Dave Roberts tells ESPN Poster shirt In addition,I will do this moon breaks up into several large chunks. If the chunks have enough energy to separate a little bit but don’t have the energy to escape each other, they will continue to fall back and collide, bouncing off in new directions and breaking up further and further. This is very bad, because if even a tiny fraction of moon-chunks are thrown off the collisions such that they hit the atmosphere of the Earth, the number of meteors would be apocalyptic. Not because of strikes, even. The problem is the excess heat put into the atmosphere by each re-entry would be enough to, to quote a different science fiction franchise “burn the land and boil the sea”. Earth would become completely uninhabitable for thousands of years, until most of the moon bits that were going to hit the Earth had already done so and the pace dropped off. An ordinary high energy split wouldn’t be much better for us, because even if the break was very clean, there would be a whole bunch of shrapnel that would all hit the Earth right away, almost certainly enough to kill everyone and most multicellular life.
An extremely low energy split would be ok, because the Shohei Ohtani is expected to play World Series Game 3 Dave Roberts tells ESPN Poster shirt In addition,I will do this two halves would just settle back on each other without much fuss. In fact, on a planetary scale, the moon isn’t stuck together right now. In the limiting case, a super-duper-low energy split could be happening right now, and we would neither know nor care. But that doesn’t look impressive from Earth, a requirement for this to match the text. Now, if you use magic/the power of god, all bets are off, because magic, by definition, doesn’t follow the laws of physics. I read the book and I wasn’t clear on why the moon would gradually break up into little bits over time. It seems like any planet or moon is created by lots of little things wanting to clump together because of gravity. The physics in the book seems to be the opposite of what I have read about planet/moon formation. It’s all about the amount of excess energy in the system, which is represented by the amount the chunks are moving relative to each other and how far apart they are from each other.
With very little energy or very inelastic (squishy) materials, the Shohei Ohtani is expected to play World Series Game 3 Dave Roberts tells ESPN Poster shirt In addition,I will do this moon would tend to stick to itself again and re-clump. With very high energy, the pieces wouldn’t collide again; they’d find distant orbits around each other or fly off. But with the right amount of energy, the pieces would remain captured in each others gravity in tight and complex orbits, and bang off of each other, and with the right material composition they would tend to bounce and break more than they would stick. This wouldn’t happen with all moon explosions, but it is possible with some. Events like this are potentially responsible for some ring systems around other planets. It is also possible that much of the mass would eventually re-coalesce into a single body again. That doesn’t matter to the people on the planet, of course, because they’ve been dead for thousands of years. In the actual book, we don’t know if this would happen because the space based civilization becomes capable of large scale astro-engineering and controls the development of the Ring. I can’t find a citation right now, but I remember reading that part of the origin of the book was Stephenson seeing a simulation as part of his work for Blue Origin which showed the destruction happening. I do know that other people have simulated it since the book came out and have found the events to be plausible with the right initial conditions. As for the process of lunar creation, we don’t really know how it happens. The best theory we have on our current moon is that it was knocked free from the proto-Earth by an impact from a third body.
One possibility is that the Shohei Ohtani is expected to play World Series Game 3 Dave Roberts tells ESPN Poster shirt In addition,I will do this Earth-Theia collision was so high energy that the debris was molten, and therefore very sticky, so it reclumped quite quickly. But we can only guess about what happened and what the details were like. I haven’t read the book but unless whatever split the moon put enough kinetic energy into the bits of the moon to prevent the moon from simply putting itself back together due to gravity, I’d estimate a good chunk of the moon would continue it’s orbit as it was before and eventually form a smaller moon, a bunch of moon would fly off into the solar system never to be seen again and another bunch of moon would slowly spiral towards earth. Do note that even of that, only a part will actually hit earth, since their momentum is still present, just now with additional momentum pushing it towards earth, so those would get closer to earth, accelerate as they got closer and slingshot off into the solar system.
But it is possible that the Shohei Ohtani is expected to play World Series Game 3 Dave Roberts tells ESPN Poster shirt In addition,I will do this fraction of a fraction of moon that will hit earth is enough to do serious damage to the planet’s surface I’ll restrict my comments about the book’s moon breakup to what happens early in the process to prevent spoilers. The unknown object strikes the moon (there is very little discussion about what it might have been – the author basically just says “this happened and we are not going to discuss why”) and fractures it into seven large pieces that are still clumped together in roughly the original state, but with the cracks/ruptures visible from Earth. So in the book it doesn’t seem like any significant portion of the moon is sent flying away during the event. It’s sort of like if you cracked a glass ball but kept all the pieces together. From there, it gradually broke up further after starting in what seemed like a pretty “together” state after the event. Maybe other people can comment if I’m misremembering it, but I just thought that it seemed like gravity would be holding it together after the event.
Edit: I just started re-reading the Shohei Ohtani is expected to play World Series Game 3 Dave Roberts tells ESPN Poster shirt In addition,I will do this book and the first couple pages of text describe the situation better than I can. The pieces were not as tightly packed as I remembered, but he mentions that the pieces are all gravitationally bound. You can read the situation from this free sample: This was my first thought when I saw this. Great book and solid explanation of what that hypothetical scenario might look like. they will continue to fall back and collide, bouncing off in new directions and breaking up further and further. Things at this scale don’t bounce, they splash and smoosh. Some bits will splash energetically away, but for the most part it’s all going to end up a ball of molten goo with the same mass and the same position.
So about that. The moon is ridiculously far away from the Shohei Ohtani is expected to play World Series Game 3 Dave Roberts tells ESPN Poster shirt In addition,I will do this earth. Like if the earth was scaled down to be the size of a typical globe you can buy wherever they sell globes, the moon would orbit more or less across the room at that scale. Sure, some debris would probably make it to earth and would make for a really pretty meteor shower, but I highly doubt it will do anything substantial to either earth or the moon. Unless I misunderstood the assignment. I’m thinking what OP asked was “What if we took a giant saw and cut the moon in half with it and like pulled the two halves a few kilometres apart to demonstrate that we actually did cut the moon in half?” If the assignment is “What if we obliterated the moon beyond it’s gravitational binding energy?” Then yes, humanity is most likely fucked. If the moon debris doesn’t get us, the tital waves will. If their gravity doesn’t just smash them back together then the two halves would probably collapse in on themselves to form two smaller Celestial bodies
