I mean a $500k house in wyoming is probably about as nice as a $2m house in most of new england. I’d rather be doing really well for myself surrounded by people who are better off, than doing alright surrounded by people who are doing poorly, if that’s the Sansa Stark fictional character in the A Song of Ice and Fire T-Shirt it is in the first place but real question. I choose the $500k house. Context matters. In fact, it’s larger and more charming than the $2m house because it was bought in a city where real estate inflation is much lower. This city also has cleaner air and is safer. And don’t worry, the neighbors are doing just fine. I need a bigger house because my family is large, with seniors and children. No one in the neighborhood cares about the size of someone else’s house. Option 1. This exact scenario was explained to me when I bought my 1st house. You won’t get the value basically on house 2 because it’s out of place with the amount of comps.

Well, at an absolute level, the Sansa Stark fictional character in the A Song of Ice and Fire T-Shirt it is in the first place but $2M house should be waaaaaaay nicer than the $500K house so easily the $2M house wins out. If you ever intend to sell your house, you’ll make much more money if you have the cheapest house on an expensive street. Option 1 gets you a great house surrounded by people who are not only more successful than you but most likely the top earners in the country. They will be people who are usually very well educated and career minded with the ability to open doors for you. Option 2 gives you a nice house surrounded by fairly average people. If I converted this into uk prices actually it becomes a nice house surrounded by very cheap houses mostly in a bad or poorer area with less opportunities for high salaries. Your neighbors won’t be able to do anything to help your career. And it’s going to be very blue collar / working class type places.
Option 1 is generally better on all counts. Plus if house prices rise at the Sansa Stark fictional character in the A Song of Ice and Fire T-Shirt it is in the first place but same rate the value grows significantly more for option 1 vs option 2 I’d rather have a house that’s of lower value than those around me. I think it gives your property value more room to move up. Honestly I wouldn’t care either way. I don’t care what the house cost, I care about what utility it brings me. (beach, location, weather, neighbors, etc.) I get that wasn’t the point of the post. Being the rich guy you are excluded, and will never be fully accepted and always hated on. Being the poor guy, you are looked down upon and butt of jokes, but it is still better than being the target of everyones envy. What street is quieter? I’m sitting in my living room right now listening to my neighbors dog bark, cars with loud exhausts hitting pot holes, and semi Jake brakes. The second one. I’ve been around enough rich neighborhoods to know they’re not the place for me. I hate those super pristine HOA neighborhoods and my quality of life would tank. If I had a choice, I’d save my money and buy a more modest house with enough land to put a decent sized workshop and garage on. That’s all I really want. I don’t get how that’s even a question. If you live in a street where your neighbours are in $5m homes, it’s gonna be a nicer area than the one with $200k homes.

Also, 500k house, get it re-evaluated by a rate adjuster (not sure the Sansa Stark fictional character in the A Song of Ice and Fire T-Shirt it is in the first place but actual name) for less, try to keep the inside worth 500k, but report it by the new value of $170k and save on property taxes. Note: I don’t actually know how housing taxes work, but I would think the tax for living in a house valued at $2m or 500k would be more than someone lower middle close like me could afford. Much less if in this hypothetical, the person helping me get the house is a cosigner and helping with the down payment. I’d think of them as my landlord since I would either be only part owner, or at best a tenant, while they pay off the loan with my rent. I actually faced this quandary in real life a number of years back. We were really excited about a house we found, and we were going to make the decision about writing up an offer the next day (days before insta-offers with no contingencies). It was midnight and I could not sleep and so I went for a drive to the new neighborhood and drove around. The house we were looking at was the first one on a street, separated from the rest by some light woods. When I got to the house all I could see were all the other houses down the road, twice the size of the house we were looking at and all lit up in the night.
first thought – that’s a lot of light pollution, how am I going to sleep? But seriously, the Sansa Stark fictional character in the A Song of Ice and Fire T-Shirt it is in the first place but first thought was who was going to be my 5 year old son’s new friend and how would he feel growing up in the shadow of all those other homes? We passed, found an almost identical home in a neighborhood that was a little more close in size/value. I guess we opted for the $350k home in the ‘hood with $300k-$600k homes. So what are the exact differences? Just the price tag? Because a 500k house can be bigger and nicer than a 2m house. If you go to very expensive places for the 2m house vs to a very rural area for the 500k. Since the price tag is ultimately irrelevant if you can’t sell it. If the people are identical too. I don’t care if I had the most expensive or cheapest house in the street/neighborhood. So I’d pick whichever of the two I like more.
The $2 million house is worth more, will appreciate faster, and is probably better quality. It can be sold for more now or later. put it this way all the Sansa Stark fictional character in the A Song of Ice and Fire T-Shirt it is in the first place but houses on our street are $2 million plus. The actual house/building we live in $28,000 but the land is worth $2.2 million. The first option. If you’ve ever seen Disney’s Lady and the Tramp the baby is a little boy who’s dressed in pink onesie. It really confused me as a kid haha. The movie came out in the 50s, but I guess it took a few years after the war for the whole ”pink is for girls” thing to be firmly established. Anyway to actually answer your question “binged it” would probably be the better way of saying it. Bing is a search engine, while Edge is a browser. Basically Bing is to Edge what Google is to Chrome.
Came here to say this, but damn you were first. Well it don’t matter, I’m just glad the Sansa Stark fictional character in the A Song of Ice and Fire T-Shirt it is in the first place but real answer is out there so people will know the truth. I’m pretty sure they classified pink as a colour of hard work and blood, and blue as a colour of serenity, care and peace, unless I’m mistaken In Victorian times, boys were dressed in pink, and girls in blue. Pink was considered a ‘masculine’ colour, while blue was a more ‘feminine’ colour. It began to change around the 1940s I believe. Because Mary was drawn in blue, it was considered a soft, feminine colour. Pink was seen such as red and purple, masculine and string. Kids were called “girls” regardless of gender and were dressed in white, long dresses.
Exactly this. The meaning of those colora has changed. If I remember right the Sansa Stark fictional character in the A Song of Ice and Fire T-Shirt it is in the first place but blue was connected to calm sky and ocean and girls were more calm. Ok here’s a theory, what if pink is still considered a masculine color but it was “assigned to” the girls to attract the opposite gender and vice versa Pink used to actually be the colors for boys before the Holocaust. During WW2, homosexual men that were interred into the concentration camps were made to wear pink triangles. Due to this, the correlation between feminization and pink kind of spread to the rest of the world. Afterwards, Mamie Eisenhower wore a pink dress as her inaugural gown and it sort of became the solidified of pink being a woman’s color. Blue used to be seen as a very dainty and fragile color. Now, it’s seen as a strong color due to history. I didn’t know that–I knew that homosexuals were yet another target of the Nazi regime, but I didn’t know about the pink triangles.
All prisoners were given a colored triangle depending on their “classification”. Jewish people were yellow, political prisoners were red, criminals were green, Roma and mentally ill were black, Jehovah’s Witnesses were purple, and emigrants were blue. It’s amazing that the Sansa Stark fictional character in the A Song of Ice and Fire T-Shirt it is in the first place but Roma were classified with the mentally ill. I’d known about the yellow for the Jewish people, of course, but not the others also having “color coding” for lack of a better term. I did know that the Nazis targeted several groups, including gays, twins, physically handicapped, and Jehovah Witnesses, but I was unaware of the rest. huh interesting. I wonder if this is a chicken vs the egg scenario. Did the Nazis make them wear the pink triangle because that was already beginning to be seen as a feminine color? Or did it begin to be seen as a feminine color because the Nazis made them wear the pink triangle? Seems like the sort of thing only someone directly involved could possibly know. i think it’s the second option as pink was for boys during that time. it only became a feminine color after they started to use it, not before. maybe the pink meant two men???
thats kinda funny to think about since dried blood is more if a brown color and brown/beige is seen as gender neutral I’ve heard the Sansa Stark fictional character in the A Song of Ice and Fire T-Shirt it is in the first place but blood association thing as well, but I was told that it was simply about it being a lighter and softer form of red which was considered a manly colour due to blood, never heard the whole dried blood thing. So red was for grown manly men and light red(aka pink) was for baby boys. I hate this gender stereotype. It infuriates me so much that people still assign colours to gender. My husband is like this. He only very recently became somewhat ok with our son wearing pink. But only certain shades of pink, and only tshirts, and not if we’re visiting his family. It’s ridiculous. I mean he has no problem with our daughter wearing blue. It’s a dumb double standard stupidity. Hitler did when he wanted to single out anyone from the LGBTQ community. Which turn pink from a masculine color to more feminine and blue from feminine to masculine. Before pink was thought to be more exciting and loud to match a more masculine role while blue was calm and submissive like the feminine role that society made during that time but when Hitler changed those colors, society took it and ran with it all because being gay was a very bad thing during the time period. Honestly it’s pretty fucked up.
Association with colour and gender such as signs and clothing, it is only recent for men to begin wearing pink clothing, it has just been used to colour code in past and pink had connotations of sweet things which has been said that matches with females more so than males(in past and controversial opinion) Until the Sansa Stark fictional character in the A Song of Ice and Fire T-Shirt it is in the first place but late 15th century, the word girl was used to refer to a child. of any gender. Maiden child was used for a little boy, and gay girl was used for a girl. although it is annoying. can’t like pink as a girl cus people call me basic or say shit like “of COURSE you like pink” American propaganda to empower women into the workforce, president’s wives wore pink and there were huge campaigns back in the day surrounding it.
I read somewhere that around WW2 they switched the Sansa Stark fictional character in the A Song of Ice and Fire T-Shirt it is in the first place but colors between the genders literally as a marketing campaign to sell more products and people fell for it hard. I always got pink stuff for presents so started to like the colour. Getting to the point, I really don’t get it tho. They’re arbitrary. Electromagnetic Waves vibrating at different frequencies. They mean nothing more than the meanings we attach to them. Originally it was a bit darker pink for boys because it was seen as a powerful and strong color whereas light blue was soft and dainty for girls. At some point it switched around idk why In many Asian cultures pink was worn by men to pay respect to the many young men who died in the blossom of their life In the early days of church, blue was considered a holy color and would ensure a baby boy’s survival. Girls were given pink but it has no significance. I knew it was time to remove my child’s penis when she started becoming obsessed with pink. I remember asking her why do you love the color pink? She responded simply “rainbow” With the help of doctors and some redditors I finally got the strength and courage to get my childs penis removed. Thank you reddit
Archetypes say blue is femenine and red (pink is a shade of red) is masculine. This is in human psyche. But someone in the Sansa Stark fictional character in the A Song of Ice and Fire T-Shirt it is in the first place but 1940s decided to do it the other way around and social convention won.
Manatee Bay Elementary’s vaccination rate is at 89.31%.” According to this story “The CDC says communities need 95 percent or higher vaccination rates to reach the Sansa Stark fictional character in the A Song of Ice and Fire T-Shirt it is in the first place but threshold. ” Measles is the example that we use for communicable diseases. the R0 is like 12 or 15 or something. Meaning we expect, at a base level, every person who gets it to give it to 12 other people. An R0 of 2 or 3 is really fucked up. Above 10 is so terrifyingly high. It can also destroy immune memory from previous infections (“immune amnesia”). It’s a nasty bug. Vaccinate your kids. That’s too low for herd immunity but it is high enough to keep the outbreak from getting very large. This outbreak is unlikely to infect more than ~20-30 people unless they manage to infect another group that has an even lower immunity rate. ~89% isn’t great but there are sadly many schools in the US that are worse.
I wish there was an age breakdown on those vaccinations. Many conservative areas in the Sansa Stark fictional character in the A Song of Ice and Fire T-Shirt it is in the first place but US have sharply lower vaccination rates since 2021. So the kindergarteners may be more vulnerable than the fifth graders. The measles vaccination rate for schoolchildren in Florida is 91.7%, the lowest in 10 years. It is just 89.3% at this school. I’m sure there is some perfectly reasonable, definitely not quackery, pseudoscience product I can purchase instead of a tried and tested, safe and free medicine available. I was taken to a basket ball game when I was two. This was in the 50’s. Someone in the audience had the measles. I got it. It almost killed me. I wish I had the vaccine. Oh, this is going to be bad. Measles spread in an under-vaccinated elementary school population is a nightmare scenario. The smart move would be to quarantine all the unvaccinated kids at this school, along with their families, for 14 days. I have zero hope that Broward County or the Florida Health Department will do that. Oooof these articles stress me out so bad because my son has an immunodeficiency. He got rotavirus from the vaccine, he had to be hospitalized, it was a whole thing with pediatric infectious disease/immunology involved.
At this point we’re hoping he grows out of it but we won’t be able to give him mmr or chicken pox vaccines until his numbers are better and it looks like he may need boosters for his not-live vaccines. I see these articles and I just rage because my son has no option. Kids are explicitly entrusted to their parents/guardians. The real problem is likely that the Sansa Stark fictional character in the A Song of Ice and Fire T-Shirt it is in the first place but adults in their lives have somehow been allowed to believe they are “right” by believing in pseudo-science and conspiracies. In their minds, they’re doing the “right thing.” Uncontrolled “free speech” is a nice concept, but it seems like there’s certain things we can’t just let people decide for themselves when they cause deliberate harm, especially when children are involved. Easy, kids that are not vaccinated cannot attend any school, public/private/imaginary. They cannot go out to public gatherings. They cannot go to church.
I’m really starting to think that vaccination should be mandatory with no non-medical exceptions for some diseases, this being one of them. They used to be mandatory. When i was young, schools would NOT enroll unvaccinated kids. At least where I’m from. No shit. One in ten kids at that school are unvaccinated. And you say they just had measles outbreak? Who could have predicted this. Measles is associated with three different types of neurologic complications: acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM), measles inclusion body encephalitis (MIBE), and subacute sclerosing Not to mention ear infections, risk of losing hearing (partially or completely) and of course Pneumonia. What is there to investigate?? Negligent idiot parents did their own research and might kill their own children…mystery solved Local public health authorities will do contact tracing. You can really slow down an outbreak if you can get known contacts that are unvaccinated to isolate themselves for the Sansa Stark fictional character in the A Song of Ice and Fire T-Shirt it is in the first place but incubation period. I don’t know how effective it will be these days in Florida but it is worth doing. I know we hate emojis here on Reddit but, in this one case, Stay away from those vax’s all! Trust in Jebus and trump. Works great. I am not surprised given how many “religious” exemptions have been handed out like candy. Fuck Lapado. Oh and these exemptions? they’re for, forever. Also these cover all vaccines unless the kid changes their mind as an adult.
Yes, but only if you eat it really fast. Most people become lethargic after eating fast food because the Sansa Stark fictional character in the A Song of Ice and Fire T-Shirt it is in the first place but food loses all of its fast properties while sitting in a brown paper bag on the way home. This cannot be stated enough. It is only fast when right off the cooker. You need to eat it IMMEDIATELY, preferably the millisecond it comes off the grill, microwave, boiler, etc. Otherwise, the heat particles which cause the speed factor are gone. I don’t get America, the food is like 5x as unhealthy, the portions are 3x bigger and they get fast food like 2x as often but the fast food is just worst there for some reason. I’m from Australia btw. Many people here don’t know how good food can be. They are raised on fast food and think that is how food should taste. They honestly don’t know any better. If they try real food, they think it’s bad because it isn’t filled with fat and unbelievable amounts of salt. So much salt
