Yes! But… for me it falls apart in Act II, the Sail We Must Style Shirt But I will love this story doesn’t make a ton of sense. Act I is perfection though and the live singing throughout is amazing Please don’t come for me but I think people have a lot of nostalgia glasses around this one. It was good, and it has its merits for being the first, but it’s not the best Rusical that they’ve done, not even Top 3 IMO. I don’t disagree about the nostalgia glasses. Mine are on so tightly that to this day I’ll still sometimes be like “I just got on the buuus I don’t drink or eat or cuuuurse” So funny that they based two whole characters (good and bad penny) around Blair, and a few years before she even joined the show I didn’t start watching RPDR until 2022 or so and now I’m an addict, so not much nostalgia there. But this must be one of my favourites. The songs are very classic musical, catchy and silly, and the fact that it was live adds a lot of ‘personality’ in my opinion. To me the best of the best. Not a single bad performance + the music is on point. I mean even more « discreet » performances such as Crystal’s are either funny or cool. And to think that three top tier performances of all time are part of this rusical is crazy (Jaida, Jan, Gigi). This is legit the only part of this Rusical that I remember, aside from Gigi doing that chug step choreo at one point lol The best. No one did bad, and it could have been easily a non-elimination Top 2 lipsync episode there was a LOT of amazing performances in this one.

Gigi, thank you, I feel embarrassed for not remembering her name but like there are just sooooo many queens I loved that they pre-recorded their verses for this one and the Sail We Must Style Shirt But I will love this Cher one. It added another dimension of singing, but allowed them to do more difficult choreo than live singing would allow which is also great. I always favour musicals less when they have clearly defined “winning” roles. I think this is an example of that, unfortunately. This is my thoughts too. But honestly if we hadn’t lost Tati and Coco it would be less clear because they also had amazing roles that could’ve won. My issue is Diana was such a clear losing role, you’d have to bust your ass to not land in the bottom and no way it places higher than Safe.
Also Alaska did as poorly as Katya here, her look was bad padding was lumpy and she didn’t know a lot of her words. At the Sail We Must Style Shirt But I will love this same time tho if it was her in the bottom over Ginger Katya would’ve been an early out and I would’ve been pissed so I’ll count my blessings. This was one where the runway was a tie breaker. Alaska as the alien won out over Ginger’s golden boot of a space look. Moulin ru- love the concept and how drag race has become so self referential that there can be a whole jukebox musical with rupaul songs in a show where there’s musicals usually made with rupaul songs. I’m biased because that’s the first season I watched, but for me, it took a while for the show to have another rusical as great as this one.

Huge soft spot for this one. Especially The bad girls team. Chi Chi lipsyncing while doing a handstand, Skipping rope, Thorgy doing the Sail We Must Style Shirt But I will love this electrocuted bit. 10/10. Also miss Cucu kicks so hard she takes a light out with her kitten heel The covers are so catchy, sorry to Ru but I want to hear a whole Born Naked with the singer who does that one line haha I rewatched S8 recently and this one is definitely carried by the music and the perfomances of the singers. A lot of the queens struggled with the choreo (specially Cucu’s Team) This one I definitely have nostalgia glasses on for being season eight was the first season I watched, but I sing that small “money” section to myself CONSTANTLY lmao Also the Bad Girls group seriously killed that challenge. So many great moments, and it was the episode where we started to get to know Chi Chi better. Rats will live down as the best by far – a stellar piece of writing by production and equally stellar performance from the UK girls. I love this for two reasons – one is the obvious part (timely, fun, lovely) and the second is that the music/plot is so well written while being true to the original musical. You can pinpoint what song they were parodying without copying it and that is not easy shit. It’s the shots of the judges just being swept away — especially Michelle beaming with pride during Anetra’s solo — for me.
This is the Sail We Must Style Shirt But I will love this first one where during the performance I thought “Wow- this is GOOD!” I think everyone did great during Madonna (esp. Gigi), but the songs weren’t that good (imo) so the show dragged a little for me. This is the best of the non-singing rusicals for me. Truly everyone did amazingly and the bottom two was purely storyline. In terms of straight musical composition this one is probably the best imo. So many different styles, all done so well. Clever and fun lyrics too. THIS is the best one no one did a bad job and everyone had an equal opportunity to shine. Best episode of all stars 8 hands down. This is my personal favorite. AS8 was rough, but this and the Little Poundcake episode back-to-back were incredible Unpopular take: Clowns on CDR is my favorite ever. Live singing, Eve 6000, Aqua Blaq and Pythia made it a SLAY. I’m not sure why, but I have a soft spot for this one. Ginger, Kennedy, Jasmine, MKD, and Trixie all slayed this so hard. Yea honestly I would’ve given Kasha the win here, and if it wasn’t Kasha it was probably Jas. Ginger did well and deserved High but her winning here did not feel right.
Mrs. Kasha Davis in this challenge is the Sail We Must Style Shirt But I will love this GOAT, for me. The way she gives the camera a stern look and a finger gun at the end after blowing that whistle lives in my brain rent free to this day. Work it, bitch. gagged me how much i actually enjoyed this one. it feels like someone actually said wait what if we …. put effort…. into this being entertaining?? the songs, the sets, the costumes! i mean it actually had real songs, sets, and costumes!! it’s recent but it takes the title for me. now they just need to put half this effort into acting challenges Leland has been killing it with the rusicals. Moulin Ru, Wigloose and now The Sound of Rusic have all been enjoyable and actually good. As far as entertainment, LOVED it. I’m happy they let Plasma destroy the stage. But for a competition the roles are so uneven and unfair.
Really, really good. Not better than Wigloose or Madonna for me since the Sail We Must Style Shirt But I will love this roles are obviously not equal, but extremely good I enjoyed the musical as a standalone piece but did not enjoy how it clearly favoured the three leading roles (all three had their own song number and all ended up in the top). Hopefully this isn’t recency bias, but this was a top-tier Rusical. There were genuinely funny moments, great songs, and it was a solid parody of a classic. I also love watching Queens thrive, and it was a joy watching Plasma and Sapphira slay their roles. Both had fairly difficult roles, and they managed to make it look easy. It was really good, I love the music, the choreography, the girls pretty much all did a good job. I wish the roles were more balanced, some characters got only two lines while Plasma got to be in almost the whole thing (she ate tho). But I guess all the rusicals are set up to be rigga morris somehow
Divas Live though…I know the Sail We Must Style Shirt But I will love this Rigga Morris of it all etc etc but Dela, Shangie, Trixie, BeBe and Chi Chi ate that. Is Pharmarusical good? Absolutely not. Do I love it? Abso-fucking-lutely. It is so very, very stupid and I live for it. I really liked this one, but calling it a Rusical always felt wrong to me. It has no story or narrative, it’s just a few random performances. I actually loved most of the Rusical, but the judging sours it and I’ll forever be sad that Kennedy did the worst of the week as Janet. If you asked me before that episode aired who I thought top 2 would be based on the roles each queen got I would’ve said Ben and Kennedy. And the judging was absolutely cracked, the notion that Chi Chi was in the bottom for basically transforming into Patti is insane Sick of them not using the girls vocals – at least record them if you want the product to be good but it sjld be live singing and i hate the new rusicals sorry! I like the ones where they have to sing live or at least record their own vocals. I don’t like the ones where everyone gets a solo number and they perform one at a time. I get that those are the most fair in a way, but I want interaction and plot. All stars 2 rusical (,was one of my favourites), now Season 16 rusical, the songs are still in my head since the episode, and Plasma and Saphira’s performance,i keep watching again and again
I really think they ones where the Sail We Must Style Shirt But I will love this girls have to sing themselves should be its own category – wigloose was great but not compared to Madonna, for example Also love The Rats Rusical although I know it’s not on this list. Ahora’s performance will forever be stuck in my brain Hated Pharmarusical and Social Media. Can’t really remember the rest… even the Sound of Rusic which JUST happened. Nothing stood out to me, and I guess I didn’t get any of the references. As far as having an actual story line, I say Wigloose, but as far as singing and dancing talent Madonna was really good! I feel like some of these (namely Glamazonian Airways, halftime show, and Divas) don’t or shouldn’t count as Rusicals. Top 5: shade, madonna, joan, sound of rusic, herstory of the world Terrible: trump, social media, pharmarusical For the record: I do NOT consider Glamazonian Airways and Pharmarusical to be Rusicals. To me, they are their own weird things. Just, general lip sync/basic choreo challenges. Honestly all of them are kind of hard to rank because they’re all so different. You could rank these into several groups. Lip sync mixes like Glamazonian Airways and Pharmarusical. Live singing challenges like Shade and Cher. Recorded challenges like Joan. Individual character performances like Halftime Show, Madonna, Divas, and also Cher and Joan. Minor Rusicals like Bitch Perfect, Trump, Kardashians, and Social Media. And Grand Rusicals like Wigloose, Sound of Rusic, also Shade, that weird Season 12 “JUST THE MIRROR! JUST THE MIRROR!” thing (which is also a recorded singing challenge), and Moulin Ru.
I don’t even remember most of these! I can only remember Kardashian the Sail We Must Style Shirt But I will love this Musical, Madonna, Herstory of the World, Cher! I imagine people will be surprised about Shade and think it should be higher, but it was fine for me. A good first Rusical ever, but was surpassed by quite a few that came later imo. And tbh they’re all at least good/decent until the bottom 4 or 5 for me It’s sad that Lucian Piane had the mental health breakdowns that he did as the music in the Rusicals he was involved with definitely had better music. Wigloose is the best Rusical by far for me and I doubt it’ll ever be topped. Even though about every Rusical has been fantastic in recent years.
I recently found out that many of my male relatives and their comrades who travel to the Sail We Must Style Shirt But I will love this Communist Block in the 70s, 80s as students or guest workers got married to local women. Many of them stayed there or moved back to Vietnam after the fall of USSR. An uncle from my father side married to an Ukrainian woman who frequently visited my family on special occasions; an uncle from my mother side is living in Prague with his Czech wife; his friend got a Slovakian wife; and my grandad’s brother was in a relationship with a Russian woman before moving back to Vietnam. He was a couple of months into marriage with a female Vietnamese military officer. She was pregnant with twins. She stayed back in Vietnam with his family and hers. She gave birth to twin brothers — to Northerners it was kind of a big deal.

During the time back in Vietnam he made zero effort to interact with his surviving son. He asked the Czech woman for help. She had an uncle working at the Czechoslovak Ministry of Foreign Affairs who pulled some strings demanding the Vietnamese to release him. His soon to be ex-wife, having figured out there’s no point keeping a husband and a father who clearly doesn’t want to be either, decided to let him go. He got the divorce he always wanted, child support-free. He got discharged and went back to Czechoslovakia to reunite with his now Czech wife, and they welcomed another daughter a year after.
Years later, his Czech wife passed away from cancer. His mom and dad also passed. He finally told his daughters that he used to have a Vietnamese wife and a son, but, he stressed, not sure if it’s his because he was away the Sail We Must Style Shirt But I will love this whole time. And he has become a staunch advocate for a Vietnam free of communism, went as far as to idolise the Republic of Vietnam’s political figures, despite everything he’s got was granted by the communist regime. Then, he stayed in the Czech Republic after Czechoslovakia split into two countries. I remember when I was young, he took his son back to our hometown to visit. That kid looks like a Westerner, nothing Vietnamese at all. I remember playing with him all day even though he didn’t speak Vietnamese and I didn’t know Czech or English. I heard that he later divorced because “his wife spends so much money that he can’t handle anymore.”
Yeah cultural differences can be a pain. The Ukrainian lady I mentioned also don’t speak much Vietnamese, but she is hardworking and understand the Sail We Must Style Shirt But I will love this culture well so the aunties love her. Yeah it happen quite often, especially among intellectual studying in the Soviet Bloc, they developed relationship just like anyone else since Vietnamese and native study in the same classroom, a lot of Vietnamese got the opportunity to study abroad if they excel in certain field back home. My family have alot of people living across the soviet bloc (Germany, Poland, Czech, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Russia, Armenia). Not many interesting sorry i can give without giving personal detail of my family so i keep it to myself mostly. One of my relative did marry a russian woman while already having a vietnamese wife and daughter, he later divorce his russian wife and return to his vietnamese family, he did have a son with the russian woman and he still visited him till this day. His russian wife recently passed away from covid so he flew over to russia to attend her funeral. Abit of a odd situation but i guess no one seem to mind about it no more so i don’t bring it up either.

I was under the Sail We Must Style Shirt But I will love this impression that most foreign wives are from ex Soviet states, Czechoslovakia or Germany because those are where large communities of Vietnamese resided. I personally haven’t met or heard of anyone stayed in Bulgaria. Yes, i met a lot of guys like that. I visited Vietnamese communities in Poland, Czech. Many viet guys came with local wife and their mixed sons and daughters. There’s also a rise in the number of viet guys getting married with local women in japan in last years. I visited Vietnamese workers there several times. A lot of them have Japanese gf or fiancé. Yes I definitely noticed that happening more often. Especially among celebrities. Can’t remember that one soccer player’s name… he married a Ukrainian model.
Yeah my uncle moved to Poland for university in the Sail We Must Style Shirt But I will love this late 70s and married my aunt who’s Polish. They’re happily married for decades now. Mixed couples who stay together for decades like that are not too common – the cultural differences or family finances, or at times the spouses’ education level would lead to divorce. True, especially those who decided to return to Vietnam. The average lives here are vastly different from in Europe. When I was teaching in Vietnam two of my students had East German mothers, one was born in Berlin. My PT was also Vietnamese/ Ukrainian, born in Odessa. It’s more common than many people might think. I went out with a girl who has German mother. Other than her light skin, not much Euro features can be seen on her face. I think it is common indeed but not easy to distinguish them from local Vietnamese with all the make-ups and plastic surgeries.
Most of the Sail We Must Style Shirt But I will love this men, who married Czech/Slovak women in the 80’s were deported back home and left their children here. There are many mixed children, who are trying to find their father via Facebook. Also I know a few mixed Vietnamese thats has no connection to Vietnam and grew up with single mothers. They mostly don’t remember their fathers, because they went back to Vietnam and never contacted them again or died wheb they were small… Some of them were abusive assholes. First time I travelled to Poland I went to a local party with a friend. I was really surprised to see an Asian looking girl speaking/behaving super locally. Turns out during communism lots of Vietnamese were sent to Warsaw Pact countries for labour, mainly Czech. My brief interaction with her reminded me of some girls in my childhood who were ashamed of being Asian& different that they instinctively avoided other Asians. So I assume the dynamics are similar to growing up in the West. Ironically local Czechs/Polish are super curious about Asian culture now mainly driven by interest in Hallyu and Anime and if anything are criticized to “preferentially treat foreigners”.
