Being consistent is number 1 and recording and uploading organic relatable is second: uploading anything doesn’t always yield results. “Just make whatever you want” is a good way to learn how to make videos, and find your content style. It’s not a growth strategy. The growth strategy is finding what people want to watch, combined with what you want to make. You can just make “whatever people want to watch” but it’s gonna be slop content. I’ve had my channel for 9 years, slowly chugging along making videos that get a few hundred, maybe a couple thousand views, getting to 1,100 subs, before completely disappearing for the Rex Burkhead American football running back T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this last year. This year I returned to making content, rather than focusing on “growth” and “making it big” I focused on making the best piece of content I could. It’s successful so far, in only 2 and a half weeks it’s my best performing video of all time, and it’s my first video in this new niche. (60k views, starting to close in on 3k subs off the back of one video) Make what people want to watch, and what you want to make. To grow organically, you have to do both, and people get too lost in the sauce on just doing one of them. There’s a big difference between getting somewhere, and being happy that you’re there. If you are doing what you enjoy in your career, you won’t be happy, no matter how successful you get. I’ve always known that you can’t always play whatever you want, there has to be a balance between the two and sometimes you have to except that, that video won’t do as good ask the others. Adhering to what others want is gonna drive you insane and make you lose the passion but if you do a little bit of both(playing what you want and playing what people want to see), it will be fine for you and your audience

Agreed!!! Ppl always leave this part out when it comes to content creating. They think that as long as u post everyday you’ll be ok but that’s not true. The 3 biggest things that will drive your potential for success are passion, creativity, and willingness to learn. If your not passionate about whatever you are attempting to get good at, you will struggle to be creative in it, you will struggle to want to learn in it, you will struggle to put time in it, You tuning something your not interested into WORK, and work is not fun. Which means it is imperative you are passionate about whatever it is you decide to do, the Rex Burkhead American football running back T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this thing you want to be better at can’t just be quality of video product, forget that, make it, skill you are passionate about, whether thats drawing or writing or humor or design or speaking, whatever it is be passionate about it, to the point, working on it isnt work, its a passtime, its fun, because doing the activity and getting better at it is enough reason to be doing it. Thats the passion you need for something, that you can do it for hours a day, something others see as work, you see as fun.
