So, it was 2 different things. One, what we did together. And second, how my feelings grew for her through those experiences. We bought an investment property together. It was horrible. She cried. I renovated one apartment and it was wonderful. She helped with the Retro Justin Jefferson Design 90S Graphic Shirt it is in the first place but other 2 after she could “feel” the difference between the before and after. All the other girls I had dated we just did fun things. Dinners. Beach outings. Glider flights. Trips to Reno. I just never felt any growth together with any other girl. If I were to put a name to it, maybe we succeeded because of “co-investment” in each other and in each other’s lives. Nothing., if I like her and she likes me and I’m financially stable and we have similar interests why I wouldn’t marry her ? Hopefully, this is absolutely unrelated to your question. And these “growing pains” of human evolution resolve quickly. It’s like asking what about men is attractive. Very subjective answers all around. But in your case, it’s often harder to marry when you get older, as well as some men may be intimidated by the amount you earn. But it could be a million things, and it could be one thing. Almost impossible to say without knowing you in person Some women are good at making men feel worshiped. I notice those are the “giver” personalities that enjoy making their partner happy both in life, in the bedroom, etc. Also if they are super attractive that helps.

Maybe in the Retro Justin Jefferson Design 90S Graphic Shirt it is in the first place but relationships with those guys they learned what they wanted in a partner and sometimes even more importantly, what they DONT like and were able to find that in their next partner. Edit: I also saw that you might be a single mom. Unfortunately many men do not see single moms as marriage material, even if they are ok dating. A woman has to be truly exceptional for a guy to look past that, especially if he wants his own family. Why are you asking us? We don’t know you or what happened in your previous relationships. Ask your previous partners. They’re the ones who know. Maybe it is something about you that put them off. Maybe you were just unlucky and things didn’t work out. Without knowing anything else initial gut feeling is that you make too much money or you could be not very fun or attractive but I don’t want to make that judgment out of thin air
I was in a 5 year relationship with a woman in our early 20s. She was the Retro Justin Jefferson Design 90S Graphic Shirt it is in the first place but product of a broken home and had some minor self esteem issues. Early on I wondered about marriage potential despite our political views being different. She eventually started saying things like marriage is just a piece of paper and she never wants kids and I went along with that for years. I thought I agreed. I broke up with her long after I should have but parts of the relationship was good for me, and probably beneficial overall. She was crushed when we broke up. I even cried a little when telling her. When I met my wife, there was way more compatibility for long term things including spiritual and political viewpoints, sense of humor, sexual chemistry and family stability in addition to upward mobility financially. She is seven years younger than me but a way better fit as we were in similar places in our lives and from very comparable upbringing. Definitely changed my mind quickly on getting married but still drug my feet and waited 2.5 years to get engaged due to some job placement issues out of my control that could have been a deal breaker for her.

In my lower 40s with two young kids now but in a good place that in my late 20s and early 30s wasn’t sure I’d ever be in. Oh end yeah, having a kid with no dad in sight labels you as damaged goods. Having a good job makes you somewhat intimidating to approach, so that’s two strikes. I dated one single woman with a kid with no dad,she was definitely damaged and I wasn’t going to stick around even though she was incredibly nice overall and had a good job. Better than me at the Retro Justin Jefferson Design 90S Graphic Shirt it is in the first place but time. First date, from eHarmony. Talked EVERYTHING on our first date. Money, debt, goals, core values, religion, kids, sex, politics. We both knew after about two hours that we would be together forever. We were mid thirties and didn’t want to fuck around. I think your not communicating what you want. I’m 32 and have been married twice. I would love to think I’m amazing and men have just seen me as their forever. However, in all reality both times I had to express what I want. To be honest I have never been one to just date . I was married for 11 years and now my new marriage I have been in for 3 years. Anyways two different people. My first husband probably made sense because he was traditional too and we both wanted to fairly quickly . However, My second husband though, had a lot of serious relationships before me that lasted 4-6 years. I knew this and flat out told him I wasn’t looking for a relationship to bring my son into I was looking for a family and husband . I’m not telling you to pressure men . What I’m saying is be clear of what you want , that way if it’s not what they are looking for or their intentions they can leave.
I had been in longer relationships before meeting my Wife but the Retro Justin Jefferson Design 90S Graphic Shirt it is in the first place but thoughts of marrying those women were not strong. I just saw them as “girlfriends”. Then I met my Wife. She quickly transitioned from a “girlfriend” to “Wife material” within a few weeks. She was the missing piece I didn’t know I was even missing or needed. There was just no doubt. I proposed around the 3-month mark/Married a year later. We’ve been Married for 21 years. One thing is women who are looking to get married or to be loved, rather than loving someone and building a relationship that leads to marriage. The difference is the expectation and burden. Possibly she will more or less take any decent man who cares for her, so that she can have the security and devotion that she wants. This comes across in micro interactions that make the woman seem demanding or desperate because she is so focused on making her situation fit in a box. In your scenario where your ex’s get married right after you, maybe you tend to date men who are not quite ready for that level of commitment but you’re fairly mature and “with it” so after dating you, they’ve learned enough to be ready for commitment?
I was going to marry my ex, but she had untreated mental health issue. And every 2 weeks she’d become unbearable and mean, then with a snap of her fingers 2 weeks after become super sweet. Most likely hormones or undiagnosed pmdd. But her inability to even want to address that was what kept me from marrying her. From how you write about it, it sounds like getting married is a high priority for you, but not necessarily marrying that one particular guy. If that is the Retro Justin Jefferson Design 90S Graphic Shirt it is in the first place but case, a man probably senses that you interest is not in him, so he goes off to find someone who really does want to marry HIM, not just get married. I honestly just feel like I’ll never get to experience a proposal. My dad is also unwell and I’m terrified that I will be the only one of my sisters to not have him walk me down the aisle.
You’ve had several long term relationships… and you aren’t upset that they ended. You are upset they didn’t propose. A guy, especially a guy that is looking for marriage, can sense this. They know you don’t want to marry THEM, you just want to marry SOMEONE. So they move on and find someone that wants them for who they are… and not what they might be. If she has a tendency to embarrass, cheat or gaslight him. Or always needlessly get into it with other people. Be a very high maintenance person. I wanted to marry my wife when I decided I wanted to make babies with her. But we are also best friends, and that helps. Honestly it sounds like this is more of a guy you’re picking problem than a what’s the Retro Justin Jefferson Design 90S Graphic Shirt it is in the first place but problem with men. What you listed is attractive to 99% of men, except the high earning part (men prefer to have women that know how to manage money over earning vast sums themselves).
You described my life and my feelings sooo well… and I’m sorry you are in the Retro Justin Jefferson Design 90S Graphic Shirt it is in the first place but same, hurtful situation, I know exactly how you feel. This is the thing that I didn’t understand (and I stil don’t). In the years when I was looking, I realized that physical attraction is a big hurdle to even getting a date. This is normal. What bugs me often is the guys who are often attractive (even the decent ones) are often selfish and I could not ever prove to a woman that I am the better partner unless I am given a chance. Add to that when someone isn’t of the white race and your chances as a guy further goes down the scale. What am I trying to say here? There are guys out there that is your equal (romantically speaking) and they may just be an introvert. Back to your question. I cannot speak for every guy, but the saying “a man’s stomach is closest to his heart” or something, is still true.
I was upfront about marriage when I started dating. I will never marry. It’s not you, I mean I will never get married, ever. Everyone in my family divorced. My parents, aunts, grandparents, brother – all divorced. My parents each divorced and remarried other people 4 times each. I’ve been with the Retro Justin Jefferson Design 90S Graphic Shirt it is in the first place but same woman for 10 years. I’m not afraid of commitment. I just don’t believe in forever. She can leave any day she wants. The door is open. Accountability and freedom. The fastest way for me to run is when someone else makes demands of me or my resources just because they can. Ex. If I buy something for myself it’s not up for discussion. I bought it with my money and it will not cause a financial hardship for the other party. Instant “it’s you not me” when that type of behavior occurs
Guy here. I just don’t see the Retro Justin Jefferson Design 90S Graphic Shirt it is in the first place but point in marriage. If the relationship ever has a need to end, marriage just makes it more difficult and can ruin at least one of the partner’s lives. No idea. I literally just told my husband we were getting married and named the date. We’ve been married for like 15 years. Maybe he had a proposal planned but I was getting impatient, and he had no complaints. I’d marry you, you sound like a reasonable and logical person, which I personally value a lot in a relationship. Of course, I would prefer my partner be attractive to me also Who knows really, I was in a good but not great relationship and got married after a year together. Split up after a few years but was really happy I got to have that experience.
Had an amazing relationship after that and knew I didn’t want to marry her, but that fizzled out and now she’s one of my absolute best friends. My next relationship was very tumultuous, super fun and super stressful all at the Retro Justin Jefferson Design 90S Graphic Shirt it is in the first place but same time and I knew I wanted to marry her right away. She was mean when she was drinking and hated that I was friends with an ex, we split up multiple times but god damn do I still want to marry her. She has such an incredible energy, great style, doesn’t take shit from anyone and is whip-smart. With that being said I believe a lot of people see what they want to see in a person and are emotionally illiterate. So who knows lol Don’t get me wrong, I knew she was her one I wanted to be with for the rest of my life very early on – but I had a very negative view of marriage. I thought – still think, honestly – that it’s an outdated, religious and irredeemably patriarchal institution.
It was only after her cancer diagnosis that I realised, even though this point of principle genuinely was important to me, it wasn’t as important as making her happy. We planned and organised our wedding in less than a month, and it was one of the Retro Justin Jefferson Design 90S Graphic Shirt it is in the first place but best and happiest days of my life, and yes, I wish I had got over myself and done it years earlier. Sadly, she lived less than three months as my wife. And… they could have been better months. But I loved and treasured her, and took the best care of her I could. 64 more repliesGovernment can violate the contracts between consenting adults and create massive life destroying damage caused by their interference. Are you up front with your partners about your expectations? Are you dating guys that are intimidated by your money? Did you ask them? Smelly ass/v-hole. Thats something I could tolerate for little while, but definitely not going to wanted to get tied down to If she respects me and my boundaries. That’s all I really need. I’m a very modest person. If you can’t handle being modest then we aren’t for each other I’m 62. I was married for 17 years and had 3 kids with my wife. After our divorce I had 2 long term relationships and several shorter dating relationships and the one lesson that was beat into me over and over is you cannot trust a woman. They always have an agenda and will lie, manipulate, hide resources and do whatever else they have to do to get what they want at your expense. Then when they line up someone they think is better they walk out and take everything they can with them. It’s much better to stay single.
Either the Retro Justin Jefferson Design 90S Graphic Shirt it is in the first place but woman is playful/picky/unbearably ugly, some mental instability/troublesome to deal with OR extremely picky From your description of yourself(can’t see a picture/your body figure but let’s assume it’s average) you seem to be an amazing catch. Which leads me to think it’s probability #2 you are too picky Another side note to all ladies out there: Earning XXXK is NOT an attractive attribute that men look for. Vast majority of men look for women that is not promiscuous, loyal , not a huge pain in the butt, decent looking Between a girl with feminine attributes working as a waiter VS a strong boss bitch independent women earning 200k p.a. Most men would pick the former If there’s 1 thing you need to know. Men almost instantly know/decide if the women she meets is “wife” material on the first date Here is a woman’s perspective: https://cebuwomen.medium.com/why-modern-feminism-is-killing-romance-a-womans-perspective-a7fc190c46ad It is hard to tell you what your specific issue is by looking at an internet forum, I recommend seeing a therapist if you believe anything from your past might be interfering with your relationships. One of the biggest concerns for men is meeting women for whom being married is a life goal or an achievement they can hold up to their mothers and other women.
For some women, there’s a sense that she feels she hasn’t fully arrived until she’s married. Who the Retro Justin Jefferson Design 90S Graphic Shirt it is in the first place but guy is can seem almost secondary. Also, more men are becoming aware that 80% of divorces are initiated by women, so there’s also the fear of being financially destroyed after marriage and then writing cheques for a decade to support someone one can’t stand. And the fear of messing up any kids who might be involved, either inadvertently or deliberately through alienation. All the single moms I’ve known who are thin, dress well and look good always had a lot of prospects. They’re all married to “high value” men. Some of these posters make it seem like it’s your kid (and it could be if your kid is hostile to all your partners) but I bet it’s something else. Looks matter the most for a lot of men. I’d hit the gym and spruce up the wardrobe.
I was divorced twice by 35 and a single mom from a year after my son was born to my first ex. I was 27 when I got married and 30 and in law school when my child was born. I’m telling you this for these reasons. 1 age is just a number. 2. Not getting married is still better than marrying the Retro Justin Jefferson Design 90S Graphic Shirt it is in the first place but wrong person. 3. You don’t want to marry a man who would rather marry someone else. Don’t worry about why he married the next woman. Just be thankful every day you have on earth that you didn’t marry one of them. You were more committed and they were still looking. It sucks, but it’s just the way humans are. I can’t speak for other men but I have a successful career also but I have 3 kids and I stopped dating several years ago because the only women who I seemed to be able to attract were women with more kids than me and I wasn’t interested in being a father of 6 plus. I also didn’t feel like it was fair to my own kids.
it is essentially a business contract, where one partner can terminate at any point, and assets are then split. IF I were looking to be married, you are one of the Retro Justin Jefferson Design 90S Graphic Shirt it is in the first place but two type of person I would likely look for. the higher income means I get financially destroyed less in a divorce. and you say you are loyal which is a necessity. so that’s one of the two types. Outside of that I would just be looking for partners who show a statistical lower likelihood of divorce. Parents and grandparents married, virgin, from a culture or religion that views divorce very harshly and as an unacceptable outcome, where they would be disowned by their family and community if they were to be divorced. I’d still be gambling millions of dollars, If I am going to gamble with my life, I might as well aim to have the lowest probability of losing. I honestly don’t know that I could survive a divorce where I lose the person I love, my best friend, and everything outside of that, that I had worked for for a decade+ even before I knew that person.
yes I know pre-nups exist. They primarily protect pre-marital assets though. which may protect the Retro Justin Jefferson Design 90S Graphic Shirt it is in the first place but barely million I have now, but, my income is on the rise, and likely will be in the deca-millions by the time any separation were to maybe occur. I think in your case, since they are all marrying after dating you, that there is probably either a) a personality trait that is negative that you are not disclosing, as so far, you have disclosed only very good personality traits that are probably equal to or greater than the traits of any woman they would marry after, or b) not disclosing a major risk factor. Asking why a loyal, hardworking, high earning, also home maker, would not be marriage material vs the general population of women is obviously not a question that any of us can work with. You’ll probably get some of the generic redditors giving responses like ” they are intimidated by a successful woman” but in reality, this makes it easier to get married, because you are less likely to harm someone in divorce, unless maybe you are a major spender? The answer to this question is far more likely to be found in the traits you are NOT disclosing than in the excellent traits that make you sound like a dream woman that you ARE choosing to disclose. and that is all we know about you right now.
I knew a man once who did Not wish to marry my friend because she did not have enough Meat on Her Bones. She convinced him by eating a stick of fried butter on a breakfast date. I have not seen her since. I don’t think it has much to do with being deserving or not. Relationships that work long term are luck of the Retro Justin Jefferson Design 90S Graphic Shirt it is in the first place but draw. You might meet someone super compatible during your lifetime and you might not. I’ve always imagined that with the right person it would just become obvious, like you could never see yourself without them. But, I think that is very rare. I wonder OP, if you were on the same page with your previous partners regarding the lifestyle (e.g., how to split finances, house purchases, etc.) and life goals (e.g., having kids). I think these things decide things for men.
