I don’t understand it. How can you be scared of something that will 100% happen? Everyone will die, I will die, you will die, everyone who has ever seen this post will die at some point. Y’all can downvote me as much as you please, but i just don’t get it This is not a recommendation, but having a brush with death actually really helps. You realise it’s all nonsense and fear is a wasted emotion (source: brain tumour at age 33) Never understood the Philadelphia’s Gritty Mascot Unisex T-Shirt in other words I will buy this fear of death. If you’re religious and follow the tenets of your religion and believe you’ll be rewarded by admittance to Heaven, why fear death? Personally, I view death as the beginning of a new journey, while I don’t want to start that journey yet I’m not afraid to. Death can mean the end of pain and suffering. It can mean the end of fear and turmoil and the birth of peace and tranquility. Or conversely, if you’re a wicked s.o.b. it can be the start of your punishment if you believe in. That sort of thing. But if you’re afraid of that, then why tf did you do the things you were doing that made you fear eternal punishment and damnation?

I feel it won’t go away when you have young kids. I feel the Philadelphia’s Gritty Mascot Unisex T-Shirt in other words I will buy this same way, I am terrified to leave my kids with no mom and my husband alone and it’s a huge source of my anxiety. I do think when my children are grown it will change, but that is a long, long time from now. It’s short-term coping for me. I have three adult children. Two of them are disabled and on the autism spectrum. I’m a breast cancer survivor. Talk about fear of leaving this world. I worry constantly about leaving them behind. I have no idea how they will cope without someone’s loving guidance. My ideas fluctuate at times, but my general idea is that the “energy” or “spark” continues on into another form or dimension… When my time comes, I hope that those I leave behind are not torn up about it… but think of our times shared in a more fond manner. I also hope they know how much my love for them will transcend both time & space. I’m not convinced you ever get over the fear of the unknown, which is what the fear of dying typically boils down to. But, you will certainly get more comfortable with the fear as you live with it through the decades. If it’s an acute fear then I highly recommend therapy and potentially some set & setting style of therapy. Watch ‘Ask a Mortician’ videos, accept that getting over this fear will likely take time, and that it’s an inevitable part of life. Mark Twain said something like, ‘I didn’t exist for years before I was born and it didn’t bother me, so I don’t think I’ll be bothered when I stop existing again’–that helped me too. I realized death wasn’t scary once everyone in my life would act like death wasn’t such a big deal and would be so nonchalant any time a family member died. I think I am more worried about having the right people around me when my time comes. A lot of people really don’t take it seriously anymore. I think it’s fine for those people to not take their own death seriously but like come on? I feel like so many people in my family had not had the right support during their end… all I want is when that time does come for me I get adequate medical help and support. That’s all.
