This is coming from a cis white man btw. While there may have been some bias for being fat, i can’t imagine how long i would’ve had to wait or get the Pepe The King Prawn The Muppet Show Shirt and by the same token and tests i wanted if i weren’t in my predisposition. 6 years later, laparoscopy finds my uterus attached to my bladder and my entire abdomen riddled with endometriosis. Couldn’t even detach them or attempt to remove the endo that was attached to organs bc the surgeon wasn’t that kind of specialist. Wife’s experience: When she informed our new doctor that she had received a preliminary autism diagnosis he replied, “That’s strange, I have a lot of autistic patients in pediatrics and they’re all non-verbal.” Oh. Okay, well you don’t know dick about autism then. Good to know. For some reason he “left the practice” 2 weeks later. And if you’re unaware, a lot of autistic folks would know what that sentence actually likely means is “they’re all non-verbal with me.” My experience: when COVID first hit my cardiologist told me I was high risk. My job at the time required in person work, and in fact required me to travel across multiple areas per day that could be (and often were) in completely different stages of travel restrictions as my service area was ~120 miles across. Basically in addition to being high risk I was also ostensibly a super vector waiting to happen. so I hooked up with a GP to get my extended medical leave paperwork straight so I could take some time off until the vaccines came out without losing my job or my house in the process. From her personal home study over video chat this lady said to me “You want to get off from work? I’m working! We’re all working!” How the fuck you manage to get all the way through medical school without being able to play “Which one of these things is not like the other”?

Started Paxil for anxiety and gained about 25 lbs in a month or two. Told my doctor I wanted to switch. He said, “Don’t you think you’re eating better because you feel better?” My diet hadn’t changed. I demanded to switch to celexa, and once I did, I lost 25 lbs in about a month. When my son turned 12, I asked about the Pepe The King Prawn The Muppet Show Shirt and by the same token and (new at the time) Gardisil vaccine against HPV. My son’s pediatrician looked at me blankly and said, “Girls get HPV ” As I’m sitting there thinking, “Who the fuck do you think they get HPV from???” Pediatrician retired, and both boys had the vaccine the next year. Each and every time they recommend OTC medicine or supplements to treat a problem I’m going to them for. I always address the fact that I am going to them because I’ve tried everything else, and I describe all the medicines and activities I’ve done to eliminate the problem so for them to turn around and tell me to try the same fucking thing I just told them I have tried is dumb as fuck. It’s like, hey motherfucker, I’m paying $500 to see you, if my problem could have been fixed with a bottle of shit for $10 DONT YOU THINK I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT THAT?!! It’s seriously insulting to be told to try over the counter painkillers, especially at my age they are almost like candy to me. friend had pulmonary embolisms in both lungs…ER doc said they just needed physical therapy…2 weeks later they were in the hospital with multiple blood clots in both lungs.
