Again, I am not a special educator. I am a general education teacher with a class of 18 kindergarteners, 17 of which are being taught that it’s okay that they and their teacher is being exposed to violence daily. This has been my reality every year teaching so far- 3 years in, I have yet to see a general education classroom without routine physical agression, even when observing older established teachers on my team. In reality most of the Paul Tracy 1993 Cleveland Canadian professional auto racing driver T-Shirt in contrast I will get this complaints I’m seeing are about the system, and not about disabled students that are agressive as a manifestation of their disability. I agree with everything you’re saying, and the vast majority of comments are more so about the system failing the students than the students themselves. It’s just a few comments and posts I’ve seen over the past few weeks that compelled me to make this post, I don’t think this is some universal issue we’re having with teachers placing blame on students for their behaviors or anything like that. I’m fully on board with GE teachers having more power in deciding if a student is inappropriately placed in their class and having a streamlined process for getting them appropriately placed. My gen ed classroom is not equipped to handle the type of students discussed here, yet I have three in a class of 24, and if one has an issue, the other 2 join in and the other 21 students are left to fend for themselves. I’m not trained to handle those students bur admin thinks it’s so cool to mix them into my class. Plus I teach middle school and these are boys that are 5ft 8 and 150 lbs. It’s dangerous.
Paul Tracy 1993 Cleveland Canadian professional auto racing driver T-Shirt: Unleash Your Inner Fighter
You absolutely shouldn’t be left to deal with these students alone and I’m sorry the Paul Tracy 1993 Cleveland Canadian professional auto racing driver T-Shirt in contrast I will get this school is failing you and your students, you deserve an adequately staff classroom for the students they ask you to teach. At our school inclusion is accompanied with paras and if the students are causing a major disruption they’re simply removed for the day or their inclusion is reevaluated if it’s a constant issue. I think the problem is inappropriate placements. It is really hard to get kids who are violent moved out of the GE classroom, often taking years. I’ve seen this as a teacher and also as a family member (my parents adopted multiple special needs kids, 2 of which were violent starting in elementary school). Districts don’t want to pay the extra cost.
You nailed it right on the Paul Tracy 1993 Cleveland Canadian professional auto racing driver T-Shirt in contrast I will get this head. It’s expensive to send them to a private program if they don’t have an appropriate place for them in district, which they often don’t due to staffing and funding issues, so they let teachers suffer. I basically let the 3 of them hang out in the back of tge room while I get the rest started on some work and then try them for a few minutes. It’s messed up on a good day. Well said. I work in a private school where we are trained in deescalation techniques, as well as physical restraints in the case that the deescalation does not work. I have heard that district schools often have students who are just as dangerous but that the teachers are untrained on how to keep their classes AND the violent student safe. For this reason alone, I have no intention of leaving where I am, lol. In the Before Times, SPED was this place for kids with learning disabilities or cognitive issues. There were no aggressive kids in SPED. It was not expected for Generic Public School #428 to be equipped to handle such students, little less try and integrate them into the general population of students or subject the gentle SPED kids (some of whom that cannot physically or mentally defend themselves) to these kids.

Get this Paul Tracy 1993 Cleveland Canadian professional auto racing driver T-Shirt
And now, every school is virtually expected to handle these kids, even though the Paul Tracy 1993 Cleveland Canadian professional auto racing driver T-Shirt in contrast I will get this schools themselves are only minimally set up for it. People EXPECT it. If you sign up to work with aggressive kids, and are trained for it, that’s one thing. But most people deciding on being a teacher are not signing up to work with what sometimes feels like a mental patient, and the only way to protect themselves or make the school take corrective actions is to file police reports. I was a BT for years. If I had filed a police report for being attacked it would be weekly. However, that was my job and it was my job to protect other students and staff (and myself!) from injury while also allowing students with aggressive behaviors a chance to attend school. There are always going to be some older kids who still have aggressive behaviors but mostly it’s something that improves through early intervention in elementary school and it’s so essential to keeping kids safe they they do learn how to control their behaviors before they’re adult sized. I’m a substitute para for 2+ years (4+ yrs school exp), and that means I work in both Gen Ed and SPED. I couldn’t agree more with OP. I really don’t know if Gen Ed teachers/paras receive the same training as those in SPED but I know for certain that they don’t have the experience of working in the program, and working with kids who have aggressive aspects of their disability. I think that’s all there is to it.
The first day I worked in a SPED classroom was a little nerve-wracking because I’d only had Gen Ed experience up to that point, and I can understand the Paul Tracy 1993 Cleveland Canadian professional auto racing driver T-Shirt in contrast I will get this shock for someone who has always worked in Gen Ed hearing about students in SPED displaying aggressive behavior but now I’m used to working in SPED classes for students of various needs around the district, and it doesn’t bother me. But when I work with Gen Ed teachers, I watch teachers work with a student having a bad day with the teacher having obvious frustration, irritation, or diamay on their face because it’s out of the norm, but the SPED teachers work with a kid having a regular Tuesday of having a meltdown because they weren’t serving what they wanted at lunch, or the tag on their shirt was itchy but they can’t explain, or because they didn’t want to put their shoes on, etc. with a normal pleasant expression or the exaggerated “sad” expression saying something akin to “you are making me sad, because we can’t go to recess if you can’t put your shoes on” because again, they have the experience doing something. If it’s your first time using a stick shift it’s gonna be hard when you’re used to an automatic, but if you’ve used a stick for years, it’s easier, down to experience doing it that way.
I’m not saying that Gen Ed teachers don’t have other concerns, they certainly do, with making sure their students are functioning at their learning level not to mention management of much larger class sizes, but I think all the Paul Tracy 1993 Cleveland Canadian professional auto racing driver T-Shirt in contrast I will get this discrepancies in levels of surprise comes down to experience with a particular type of setting. Sure seems like this post, and the earlier post about the reality of education are related. If kids can’t think, they can’t control their emotional outbursts either. Those socialist teachers did their jobs the last few decades. We got rid of meritocracy. All kids can be equally violent, confused, and behind grade level. I can guarantee the majority of people don’t understand the SPED population, practices, or how the department functions realistically. I’ve worked with admins and educators who are known for doing everything in their power to know nothing about Sp.Ed. As a former inclusive education teacher, I would write detailed safety plans regarding student warning behaviours. Unfortunately, it was the EAs that put themselves in danger by ignoring the strategies outlined for their safety. One EA continually antagonized a student by getting in his space when he was upset, even though the safety plan said to step back out of reach and use hand signals because verbal instructions did not work once the student was elevated. This EA became injured because of their proximity, and eventually they “didn’t have to” work with the “aggressive” student anymore.
You’re not wrong, OP, but sadly, many people who don’t have someone who would qualify for SpEd or an IEP or 504 in their lives don’t understand that intervention isn’t a magic pill that stops everything. If there was an on/off switch for the Paul Tracy 1993 Cleveland Canadian professional auto racing driver T-Shirt in contrast I will get this behaviors we cover with IEP and 504 plans, then…we wouldn’t need extended IEP or 504 plans. It would just be like, “Oh, Bob has attention problems? Fabs, just present it in this format and he’ll be fine. Done.” And he never has attention problems ever again. No. Bob’s always going to have attention problems, folks. Always. Accommodations are ongoing and used to lower the likelihood of undesirable behaviors or outcomes, not really eliminate them. Sure, we HOPE it eliminates them, but just because Bob sometimes still has attention problems doesn’t mean that he can’t or shouldn’t be in a classroom teaching a curriculum that he needs for graduation. Even if he taps his pencil, hums under his breath, or wiggles his chair and annoys other students.
This is a light example, obviously, when we’re talking about aggressive behaviors like slamming doors or yelling. But here’s the Paul Tracy 1993 Cleveland Canadian professional auto racing driver T-Shirt in contrast I will get this thing… it totally equates across the board. Becky might be a door/drawer/desk slammer. And accommodations have helped her be able to control the impulse to take that action when she’s frustrated, but there’s going to be a bad day or a bad week or even…a bad month… where something is going on internally or externally and she can’t hold onto the restraint, even with accommodations. Someone’s going to get upset that there’s someone who slams the cupboard in their class or be scared of the fact that she does it so hard and she’s so strong. Or that she might break something. But that doesn’t mean that Becky doesn’t deserve the opportunity to learn proper etiquette from her typical peers, learn how to be frustrated in a social setting, or how to accommodate her own needs by asking for a break or pass to the resource room.
It’s legitimately only through practice that some of these “aggressive” or “behavior” kids will learn to control their hands, feet, and voices. And I’m not at all saying it’s right or should be allowed for them to take it out on other human beings physically. However, with a good progress report and shown growing control of the Paul Tracy 1993 Cleveland Canadian professional auto racing driver T-Shirt in contrast I will get this behaviors that sparked their educational plan, they should be allowed to try …and even fail. Maybe multiple times. If they’re failing too much or too often, perhaps it’s time to take a step back and re-evaluate how best to help them, which includes considering least restrictive environment. I know it’s not comfortable for everyone – life isn’t comfortable for everyone all the time. We all have to learn how to be together.
This seems a straw man. No one, including the Paul Tracy 1993 Cleveland Canadian professional auto racing driver T-Shirt in contrast I will get this OP, were talking about the loud kid who bangs on tables. OP is talking of truly violent kids in specialized settings. If you’re saying that we get rid of those and just hope no one gets hurt (difference from being mildly uncomfortable) I can’t stand by that. Maybe we’ve over corrected as a society and that we are too afraid of someone hurting us instead of rolling with minor attacks. But that’s where we are.
vSo my family had gone to my dad’s colleagues wedding last month and I was utterly humiliated just because i want to be an animator when I grow up. It was during dinner when a couple uncle’s who were sitting a couple rows behind me started asking the Paul Tracy 1993 Cleveland Canadian professional auto racing driver T-Shirt in contrast I will get this young people there what we wanted to grow up and be(they were obviously drunk).I tried avoiding them for the most part but they came upto me and started talking. One of them asked me what I stream i was currently in and when I said sciens they began praising me.They said that science was the best thing to do and all of they other streams was a waste of time The one aunty asked me what I wanted to be when i grew up and when I responded that I wanted to be an animator they’re faces changed
They called me a fool for throwing my science knowledge for some stupid hobby And one aunty slapped me calling me a insolent brat who didn’t know what was good for me when i tried to defend myself So yea that was what happened and quite frankly I’m just so angry of how orthodox people still are regarding jobsThat sucks op but remember that these people aren’t gonna be waiting around w medals if you decide to live your life the Paul Tracy 1993 Cleveland Canadian professional auto racing driver T-Shirt in contrast I will get this way they deem “right”. Follow your own path and find your own happiness Agreed with all the above. But I would say that you don’t feel obligated to ‘defending yourself’ as well. It is perfectly fine to just ignore such fake well wishers. Arguing with them can sometimes be like what people say about fighting with pigs in the mud – you end up getting dirty, and the pigs enjoy it. I was a 3D animator. There is not much money in that field of work and there is so much pressure of work that you won’t get any fun in doing what you do. But if you are truly passionate about it and also very creative then give it a try but don’t do more than 6 month or 1 year worth of course for animation. And do complete your graduation. Your parents should confront that aunt of yours for slapping you for wanting to do what you like. Shame on such relatives.
I’m a full time film maker and let me assure you, there are better things you should do. Do something else and make animation as a plus thing to what you do. Also studying in the Paul Tracy 1993 Cleveland Canadian professional auto racing driver T-Shirt in contrast I will get this 3D modelling field, but OP, listen to this. I would highly recommend learning online if you’re truly passionate and not sink thousands of dollars into student loans; the animation industry is currently in a downturn and with AI cutting a lot of jobs, the threshold to enter the field is going to be much higher. There are online schools like Animschool and Animation Mentor taught by professionals currently working in the industry, and you can at least test the waters without going into debt. This comment and all three comments are exactly true and specially one pointing out at AI… Soon 90% of work will be done by AI, texturing, rigging, motions and color mappings, environment shading, light shading and many more and most of this can be done by a single software already released in market and soon many new advanced things will emerge which will cut down required manforce to almost 60-70% Well idk what you’re doing wrong but I’m in the same field of 3D animation. And maybe I’m the only one saying this on this thread that it’s the best damn thing ever. I know it has its ups and downs but woh kisme nahi hai? Also, it’s just about right opportunities and platform, you can do the best in any field.
Wtf we’re his parents doing. If people go around slapping my kid for a career choice there are going to be consequences But the Paul Tracy 1993 Cleveland Canadian professional auto racing driver T-Shirt in contrast I will get this point is that she slapped OP in front of the parents. Some parents are invertebrates who don’t have the guts to defend their kid. You have to be aggressive in that scenario. Tho I agree with one comment that if I was slapped I would have thrashed the person to the ground. It was most probably a tap on the cheek in the sense of “stop fooling around”. Makes me doubt the authenticity of this. Because I think it’s really good to have this conversation with your parents when sober and especially call out this woman by bringing it up in front of her and her family if and when you meet them again (hopefully never!)
What do you say to people like you who don’t do anything but poking your business in things with useless information? 90% of people are too stupid to understand this. So dont even try to change their minds bruh..its not worth it. Elders lecturing you and disrespecting your individuality is a common thing, body shaming is how they greet people. But slapping was so wrong on many levels. Please promise me if you ever see her again make sure to shame her for her actions. Shit man, the Paul Tracy 1993 Cleveland Canadian professional auto racing driver T-Shirt in contrast I will get this slap bit was hard to read! I wish, OP would’ve slapped that b right back too. But I guess, when all these old people gang up on you, (and by the post OP looks quite young), you tend to get overwhelmed. Is this story even true? I don’t think that anyone no matter how orthodox they’re will slap some other person’s kid in a function in front of others. Or was that aunty also drunk? Bro even if you were trying to defend yourself and talked back rudely, nobody has a right to slap you. You should let your parents know. No sane parent is going to let this go I would have bitch slapped her and she would have heard some cuss words that nobody in her family in their lifetime would have heard it didn’t cared what others might have thought about it And? You are an individual that has every right to talk to them however the fuck you want. She assaults you, you should have responded in kind. Break that bitches nose.
Sorry to say this but if you think your self worth lies in what others think of you/your choices then you’ll have a very tough life. Exactly this ! Why care about some random Uncle aunty on what they think about you , F**k them ! If you really care about others opinion unless you have any financial interest , you are in for a huge problem especially when you are in India Agree bro but if everyone so against you to the Paul Tracy 1993 Cleveland Canadian professional auto racing driver T-Shirt in contrast I will get this point they ready to slap you? I don’t fault him for temporarily feeling bad about himself. Wish the best to the op tho. You should definitely tell your parents about the slap. Indian parents may believe in beating their children but God forbid if some person tries the same thing.. Let that aunty face the wrath of your parents lol
And one aunty slapped me calling me a insolent brat who didn’t know what was good for me when i tried to defend myself Right? Like I know there are shitty Indian families out there. But this wedding was for a colleague of OPs dad. Not a family get together. You haven’t seen unhinged Indians tbh. I vividly remember when I was 16 or 17, I went to a distant relatives wedding functions. So there was this stupid 80+ year old man who was the Paul Tracy 1993 Cleveland Canadian professional auto racing driver T-Shirt in contrast I will get this father of another relative present there. Mind you, I have never met this man before in my life and my father had seen him maybe 2-3 times in his whole life. So he is basically a stranger to us. I just greeted him and he asked which class you were in and everything. After that while in a random conversation with my dad, this mf says get your daughter married as she is old enough or will be soon. This is right after I told this asshole I’m in fucking 11th standard. My dad was baffled. You want to know another hypocrite thing. This asshole has 2-3 daughters one being our relative and she has a master’s degree. She is in late 50s rn. And has a granddaughter who was 4-5 years older than me. Dare he say anything to her lol. She will rip him apart. My dad gave him a good earful and was really pissed the whole day. And this is such one incident I’m talking about these idiots being asses.
The only portion of this story that I am not believing is the Paul Tracy 1993 Cleveland Canadian professional auto racing driver T-Shirt in contrast I will get this slap. Not because Indians aren’t unhinged. But because they aren’t unhinged enough his way. Welcome to adulthood. This is why you have to stop going to weddings from now on until you get married. Cheers Yes they gave me some compliments and I was very proud of myself for a while but then they went away and I was all alone. Cause nobody knows squat about life and what to do with it. They just wanted their share of validation when they told you what to do. Hey man, don’t let that incident get you down. I’m also aspiring to be an artist and create my own comic one day. That incident with the aunt I can feel how angry you must’ve been, but my advice here would be to just ignore her. They are lacking basic knowledge about this field + their dumb mindset of doctor and engineer, so they clearly don’t understand the potential of art, animation, comics or anything in this field. I can tell you that these fields are going to explode in the future in India as I understand their potential. I’m also practicing art whenever I get the time though it will take quite a lot of time to improve and reach the level I’m aiming for. Don’t let anyone’s words or actions dictate your decisions. Best of luck ahead! You want to be an animator ???? Damn that’s so cool actually I always look up to animators and their good work. Good choice of career
