As of March, I finally made it to a major. First year pay sucks, it’s the P38 lightning (yellow) world war iI airplane classic shirt it is in the first place but last part of “paying your dues” before you finally get paid what every airline pilot should get paid. I’m excited that I even have this opportunity cause the majors had closed doors for the longest time. Anyways, good luck with your private pilot cert! Hope you enjoy the process. The cert is a license to learn, it’s a different world doing XCs by yourself (in a good way), not doing stalls and steep turns with your CFI “failing” your engine all the time. Flying anything other then ATP for airlines or charter is way underpaid, and joining an airline is like signing the years of your life away. There is no winning. To get hours you have to fly incredibly dangerous jobs like AG or whatnot. Almost like signing a death certificate when you fly AG, at least in my area. I’ve spent $30K so far on flight school and I’m still not commercial! I’ve got at least another $20K to go for that, and then I still won’t be able to get a job anywhere flying because most places require a MINIMUM amount of flight hours before they will hire you. So, it’s back to flight school where you get your CFI for another $15 – $20K and become an instructor so that you can build time for ~$35 – $40K a year…

And if you’re lucky enough to have direct contact with clients, you have to deal with wealthy douchebags who don’t respect you or your time.
