No OP but I assume it would theoretically allow management to discriminate based on race. No ideas of asking for a photo/video is illegal. Yes but interview is usually past first step, and most discrimination happens on that first step. You should be invited to an interview only based on qualification nto face/gender/race. For me the Oscar Piastri The Eras Tour shirt and I will buy this problem isn’t the question, it’s the having to film a video of myself speaking the answer. Noooooo thanks. It’s also illegal in a lot of places. I dont like taking pictures of myself let alone be on camera. Ive had to do a couple of video interviews and I always feel so awkward especially when you’re not actually talking to anyone but just answering questions. My brother in law and I were talking about my last job and one thing he told me was that my biggest mistake was letting them have control of my emotions/showing them my emotional side. Not that you shouldn’t be 100% void of emotion, but don’t let them have any power over you outside of work. Basically what I took from it was to not let conversations with my bosses show weakness or deep emotion. Some emotion is fine and expected, but many bosses will take advantage if you let them. I was gaslighted and verbally abused and some sketchy things took place after a series of illegal stuff and dirty but still just barely legal stuff took place with them- examples: (reducing my hours to 3 hours a week on a day I couldn’t work on and they knew that, lying to my face, making up situations and making very minor faults that anybody could make into a mountain of reasons why I was a “bad worker.” I gave 110% at that place and while I perhaps wasn’t the HARDEST worker there, I was kind of up there. They had a lot of managers for some reason who were treated well, and then there were a few of us that weren’t and we were treated horribly. There was definitely a hierarchy. And there was so much hypocrisy, like managers were allowed to break rules and probably didn’t even realize there were rules, and then we were scolded for doing the same thing. At the end I ended up getting broken bones in my foot at work and I still felt pressured to work 1½ shifts afterwards even tho it hurt badly. Then we finally went in and had it x-rayed and I brought a doctor’s note saying I needed at least 10 days off work and then to take it lightly (and I had to wear a walking boot), and then they got mad at me, my boss yelled at me, and then that was when my hours got funky, so it’s definitely suspicious.)

So when I went in for my last meeting, the Oscar Piastri The Eras Tour shirt and I will buy this same day I decided to never go back, and they lied to me, I started shaking and I felt weak and I felt like crap. I let them influence me and I believed their lies and misinformation and fell for many of their emotional traps. Then at the end they told me if I could work harder I’d get my hours fixed and we could all move on. So I told them what they wanted to hear. They also claimed I had a huge lack of communication even though I talked to my manager twice about two different situations (relating to the days I could work on + new problems regarding the whole “3 hours” situation they purposely took forever to address). They also didn’t bother telling me why I had those issues with my hours or to fix that I was scheduled for only days I couldn’t work on, until I asked them.
