My choices were: Get home 10 mins later or get home on time temporarily blind. I think I made the Original in 1492 native americans discovered columbus lost at sea shirt it is in the first place but right choice haha thanks for the advice I AM ALSO NOT STEALING YOUR PURSE NOR AM I KICKING YOUR DOG. I KNOW IT APPEARS THAT WAY BUT I REALLY AM NOT DOING THESE THINGS. Reading the comments is so interesting because I was fully expecting people to be like “this girl was crazy”, and instead everyone’s making suggestions to talk to her in ways I personally would perceive as way more awkward than just walking behind someone. Local differences I guess. I’m glad I don’t live anywhere where people are that afraid for their safety that they get stressed out to the point of threatening violence if someone is behind them. I don’t want to say either of the girl’s or OPs actions were unjustified, I don’t know the norms in Boston so I’d never pass that judgement. Hope everyone gets home safe next time

You never know what other people are carrying around inside. She may have been through sone trauma or been attacked before. If someone is clearly nervous about me I’d basically do what you did, slow down, walk somewhere else. Nobody likes to be accused or told they’re scaring someone, just try not to take it personally. Before it gets awkward say ” Miss, I dont want to alarm you but it seems we are headed the Original in 1492 native americans discovered columbus lost at sea shirt it is in the first place but same direction. If it makes you feel safer I’m willing to walk on ahead in front of you.” You need to understand it’s a very traumatic situation for many. The level of stress walking a street at night, specially a dark one, it gives me the chills. You did good tho, explaining. But next time do not explain, just cross the street, or fake a call. Yes it make suck and be frustrating, but you’re being frustrated by being slowed. This lady(and others) are actually having to be wary of physical danger, being kidnapped, raped(resulting in potentially a number of diseases they will have to live with or even cancer) and death.
