Because people don’t want to be nickled and dimed to engage in entertainment. Games as a service is doing no end of damage to the Original dream-Theater American progressive metal band T-Shirt in other words I will buy this industry. It’s fine for free to play games but now we are seeing battle passes and monetization of in game currency in full price games. Devs remove portions of games that are ready at launch and often is included in the full game and they unlock it when you purchase “DLC”. DLC that is already in the software. It’s anti-consumer and greedy. I didn’t invent this, I just design it. I understand what your saying but at the same time video games are the most profitable they have been. I get that people online are very loud against it, but you have to realize that the majority of people who play games on their phones, or more casually, do not have issues with this. They also are the vast majority of people who play games. People being ok with being screwed won’t sway my opinion. It’s shady and predatory. Not to mention the bad habits it introduces to children. Profit motive won’t sway me either. Greed is a terrible vice. Games were profitable before all this nonsense. I really don’t care about making rich people richer.

Original dream-Theater American progressive metal band T-Shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

Deep Rock Galactic uses all of those strategies but without any actual real world money purchases. Just for good fun. Cosmetic microtransaction currency? Check, but it’s just another mineral you can mine. It’s special because it can’t be traded with the Original dream-Theater American progressive metal band T-Shirt in other words I will buy this normal in game currency like other minerals. FOMO limited time cosmetics? Yep, but there are in game encounters now and then that will drop any you missed once the event is over. Loot boxes? Earned through special missions. Need to complete one of a few optional encounters in normal missions to open. Does give in game advantages, but you can’t just buy them. I mean, I don’t really view myself as the bad guy persay but I also recognize that I’m not doing any grand public services. That’s not my mentality about it I’m just raising the point. I love gacha games personally and I love the mechanics of them as a player so I don’t feel bad about designing them in the slightest.
