I would say yes, the Oregon Ducks Football you don’t know die hard fan until you meet a Duck fan Shirt What’s more,I will buy this reason being, in medieval times a tooth infection could mean death, now it’s an inconvenience that the rich probably don’t even encounter. It’s impossible to say, because it entirely depends on how you define wealth. Just looking at what a month wages was then and now doesn’t tell you anything meaningful. The average worker today has a standard of living that is better than medieval kings. Not just technology like computers and airconditioning, but also the kind of perishable goods you can buy. If you take a look at historical recipes you’ll see that even the upper and ruling class in the past ate food that most people today would find extremely boring. Fuck, I’m richer than ancient and medieval kings. I live a longer, healthier life with clean food and water in a clean comfortable house with adequate heating and cooling, and if I get sick, an extraordinary network of people, machines, and drugs will help cure me. I can eat any fresh food out of season, I have been to every continent, I have flown in a multitude of conveyances. They definitely live better. One might even argue that the average person in the western world lives better than a lot of medieval kings depending on how much you value creature comforts vs. having political power. Castles were cold. THey had no running water. No electricity. Travel was still relatively slow and arduous. Food was not varied even if it was abundant. Maybe it was better in warmer climates. You are richer than ancient and medieval kings, in terms of convenience, medical care, education, and entertainment.

Oregon Ducks Football you don’t know die hard fan until you meet a Duck fan Shirt description

There are multiple different ways to think about what “rich” means. For example, you could think of it in terms of the Oregon Ducks Football you don’t know die hard fan until you meet a Duck fan Shirt What’s more,I will buy this lifestyle a person can afford. I personally can afford to live better than ancient kings in some ways, and I’m not even a billionaire. I can afford a better mattress than ancient kings had. I can afford better air conditioning than ancient kings had. I can afford more comfortable clothing than what they had. I can afford better medical care than they had. I can afford to travel the world faster than ancient kings could. I can afford greater access to information than they had. I can afford to have far more entertainment options available to me on call at any moment I want. Of course there are other types of things that ancient kings could afford much more than I. For example, an ancient king might get more massages than I. But again, I’m not a billionaire. I think modern billionaires can afford a more luxurious life than ancient kings in every way. It depends slightly, but in my opinion they are more wealthy in every sense that matters, except in comparison to poor people.
The direct values get slightly messy, because land has become so much more valueable than in the Oregon Ducks Football you don’t know die hard fan until you meet a Duck fan Shirt What’s more,I will buy this past, but someone like Jeff Bezos or Bill Gates makes more money than they would need to buy everything the roman empire produced over the same time period. Even the poorest people today are richer than ancient and medieval kings in absolute terms. But people care about relative wealth so everyone feels poor. I’d also consider modern rulers who will rule for life, where the government and the largest profitable industries are blended, and where the government has control of those industries. Kim Jong Un pretty much owns a country with a 50 billion dollar yearly GDP. North Koreans seem poor, but the country does make quite a bit of stuff.

Putin’s summer house cost nearly two billion dollars, and Gazprom – the Oregon Ducks Football you don’t know die hard fan until you meet a Duck fan Shirt What’s more,I will buy this government owned and controlled fossil fuel company – that alone is worth $40B. King Salman in Saudi Arabia… owns the Saudi oil industry. There’s a reason they could just kinda pay the Trump family $2B that one time. Xi Jinping in China is personally worth more than a billion, and that’s before getting to “controls the Chinese government and it’s holdings”. Contrast that with the British royals, who are a bit less than billionaires in whole, and don’t have any strong control over their subjects these days. Or maybe Napoleon, who had less than 5 million when he died (which would be closer to 125 million today. Mansa Musa had an amount of gold that would be just under a billion today.
So very, very few kings had as much money as the Oregon Ducks Football you don’t know die hard fan until you meet a Duck fan Shirt What’s more,I will buy this peak of modern capitalism. Andrew Carnegie a hundred years back had about 7 billion in today’s money, and was the third richest human (by cash value) to live. Henry Frick had 5x that or more. Rockefeller came closer to half a trillion; no one’s caught him yet. (The 93% federal income tax bracket was created for him and only him, even.) Ancient conquerors who built empires across dozens of countries, like Genghis Khan or Alexander, yeah, they probably had more, but that’s about it. The value of any slaves owned by an ancient king is overblown. They are only as valuable as they are productive, and due to pre industrial technological constraints, they weren’t very productive. The amount of food, raw materials, goods and structures a population of 10k slaves could produce, manufacture or construct in a year is insignificant to what a billionaire could simply pay modern day employees to produce using modern tools, equipment and materials, which the billionaires also have access to.
There is vastly more to spend money on in the Oregon Ducks Football you don’t know die hard fan until you meet a Duck fan Shirt What’s more,I will buy this modern world. We have OPTIMISED spending so less money gets more, and more money gets everything.
That sounds like most systems of healthcare here in Europe. I live in the Oregon Ducks Football you don’t know die hard fan until you meet a Duck fan Shirt What’s more,I will buy this outskirts of Sweden’s second largest city and within a 15 minute walk I have a hospital, a pharmacy, and won’t be charged for any visits or medication. I sometimes see Americans worried about this idea, but what is it they fear exactly? My old colleagues in the red states state, genuinely, that socialised medicine will lead to socialism. They have all been taught to conflate social democracy and communism. That’s pretty much it, the idea of public schools, roads, infrastructure and helping the elderly is expected and not called socialism. Asking for our taxes back in the form of healthcare is communism and only works everywhere else. That, combined with their concept of “freedom” which entails a relentless focus on negative liberty and utter rejection of positive liberty.
There’s also a fair bit of callous insistence that life should be hard and full of suffering. My dad has mocked me as being a “bleeding heart liberal” more than once. People like him think people SHOULD struggle to get health care if they’re not wealthy. Because poverty = you’re a bad person. I hate to be the Oregon Ducks Football you don’t know die hard fan until you meet a Duck fan Shirt What’s more,I will buy this one to go ahead and argue with a stawman, but whenever I hear people say this, I remind them that farms, infrastructure projects like roads, bridges, highways, water treatment, power plants and distribution, auto manufacturing, drug manufacturing, child care, many others are all subsidized by taxes. It’s such a shitty argument. What gets me, and I’m not the first to say this either, is that dem voters in the USA tend to be more affluent than GOP voters. So the voters who would benefit the most from socialized medicine are the ones who most strongly oppose it.
Appeal to the Oregon Ducks Football you don’t know die hard fan until you meet a Duck fan Shirt What’s more,I will buy this lower-educated and under-informed with misleading information to vote against their own interests, and then blame the Democrats for the problems caused by GOP policies and obstructing Democrats who try to fix it. Farms are probably the most subsidized industry in the U.S., which makes their voting trends even more puzzling. This is the same in England: pay me colossal subsidies so I can vote for the conservatives! I don’t get it. I had an argument with a farmer I know who was going to vote for Brexit and he was very offended when I pulled his subsidies- and it was a tonne of cash. Yes 100%…. the ones who benefit the most are the corporate farms already flush in money. Helps those dividends go up for the 1%
Many years ago (sorry, no cite) I saw an interview with a farmer about immigration. He was absolutely opposed to it. No immigrants whatsoever! Then he was asked about his farm workers (who were all immigrants…probably illegal) and without missing a beat or an ounce of a sense of hypocrisy said he needed them. Can’t keep them out. yep, it was fascinating watching lower income republicans freak-the-fuck-out when their representatives were trying to repeal Obamacare No they want Obamacare gone. But not the Oregon Ducks Football you don’t know die hard fan until you meet a Duck fan Shirt What’s more,I will buy this Affordable Care Act, which, of course, was called Obamacare by Republicans to try to make it unpopular. It’s voting with your gut vs your brain. Once the gut takes over (fear or anger), the brain is shut down – literally. You cannot think properly anymore. The GOP knows how to play this card.
We only need a few hundred thousand for farm work my friend immigration by the Oregon Ducks Football you don’t know die hard fan until you meet a Duck fan Shirt What’s more,I will buy this millions is not justified by United States labor needs. All of which can be done legally with work visas etc we don’t need nor want these people who come to take economic advantage. My favourite bits of fear mongering about universal healthcare are: “Why should I pay for other people to get treatment?” And the death council “I’m not having someone tell me what treatment I can and can’t get!” Both clearly showing that they have no idea how medical insurance works. For almost all people, they’ll SAVE a lot of money. Yes, taxes may increase a few percent, but they don’t consider that they then won’t be paying $400 a month minimum to health insurance The people making money off the healthcare system obviously won’t make as much money anymore. Which is bullshit because we always pay one way or another.
The other is the Oregon Ducks Football you don’t know die hard fan until you meet a Duck fan Shirt What’s more,I will buy this fear that the quality of care will not be as good. As in the system is so slammed that you can’t get appointments or surgeries quickly enough. Imagine the DMV but your hospital. Which is bullshit because it’s a matter of who pays for healthcare, not who runs the service. Please stop. As a Canadian, I can tell you that you will do MUCH better as an American with good health insurance than you will as a Canadian. There have been high profile cases of Canadian politicians going to the US for urgent care. Your best bet here is to have doctors in your family. That is seriously messed up. Like yes if you have very good insurance then you can get great care because they are making big money from the insurance company, which in turn is making big money off of everyone else having to pay big premiums. It seems to me from the outside that the problem is for those without good insurance or any at all, who are in trouble if they do need medical help.
In UK the Oregon Ducks Football you don’t know die hard fan until you meet a Duck fan Shirt What’s more,I will buy this rich still get great healthcare because they can pay for private, but a poor person doesn’t get financially ruined because they need care. Trouble is that the private system in the US is totally inaccessible to anyone who has not paid out the premiums for good insurance. Even among those who boast of “gold plated” health insurance, the limits are surprising. Add the so-called “co-pays” (deductibles?) to the mix and getting quality care in the US is more a matter of your wealth than how sick you are. In Canada, while a great many wait excessive lengths of time for many things considered “elective” when you truly need urgent care, you can get it regardless of your income or whether it’s specified in your insurance policy. The very fact I am able to write this is proof. When a tumor literally burst in 2020, I went straight to the front of the line and blood loss was kept to a lot, instead of too much.
Most people complain about the Oregon Ducks Football you don’t know die hard fan until you meet a Duck fan Shirt What’s more,I will buy this wait times, but those same people and issues in the USA just wouldnt goto the hospital at all. It’s not easy to get an see a GP in the UK let alone get a hospital appointment. I’ve given up trying, just kept pooping blood. I guess it’s all dependant, I’ve had real trouble getting a GP appointment in the past and then only a few months back had an issue and got an appointment quite quickly, tests, and eventually a hospital visit. I realise many go through a really hard time trying to get anywhere, but the states’ system where you just can’t do anything unless you have insurance seems a worse option still. Definitely keep trying, ask them if you can just collect a FIT test kit, the reception can just hand it over so no proper appointment necessary (or at least after a phone call), that will test for blood in stool and if above a certain level they will refer you hopefully quite quickly. Best of luck. “an American with good health insurance” is what sinks your argument. Every Canadian gets access to health care when needed. You don’t have to be wealthy enough or have the right career to have good health insurance in order to receive treatment. True, but the level of service in Canada is much lower than in the US. If you have good healthcare in the US you get seen much more quickly. Here in Canada when you go to the Emergency you are prepared for a 6-12 hour wait. And you wait months to see a specialist or for many types of surgery. In the US many of those things can happen in a few days.
The US ranks 6th of 11 out of Commonwealth Fund countries on ER wait times on percentage served under 4 hours. 10th of 11 on getting weekend and evening care without going to the Oregon Ducks Football you don’t know die hard fan until you meet a Duck fan Shirt What’s more,I will buy this ER. 5th of 11 for countries able to make a same or next day doctors/nurse appointment when they’re sick. Americans do better on wait times for specialists (ranking 3rd for wait times under four weeks), and surgeries (ranking 3rd for wait times under four months), but that ignores three important factors: Wait times in universal healthcare are based on urgency, so while you might wait for an elective hip replacement surgery you’re going to get surgery for that life threatening illness quickly. Nearly every universal healthcare country has strong private options and supplemental private insurance. That means that if there is a wait you’re not happy about you have options that still work out significantly cheaper than US care, which is a win/win.
One third of US families had to put off healthcare due to the Oregon Ducks Football you don’t know die hard fan until you meet a Duck fan Shirt What’s more,I will buy this cost last year. That means more Americans are waiting for care than any other wealthy country on earth. Country See doctor/nurse same or next day without appointment Response from doctor’s office same or next day Easy to get care on nights & weekends without going to ER ER wait times under 4 hours Surgery wait times under four months Specialist wait times under 4 weeks Average Overall Rank Hell, my girlfriend is waiting five months for an appointment with a gastroenterologist right now for a relatively serious issue. When I needed an endocrinologist I had to go out of state to avoid a one year wait time. My last ER visit I waited 7 hours in pain so bad I’d nearly pass out every time I tried to stand up, only to wait another hour after finally being taken back (but they did have plenty of time to get my billing info), only for the doctor to try and insist it was a non-issue, and only after subtle threats of lawsuits from my lawyer girlfriend did they run any tests, which showed I needed emergency surgery. The reason for the low wait times in the US is because their users are not patients, they’re customers and they are paying for that service (also factor in that maybe the wait times are down because of the vast number of people who require medical attention opt out of it due to not being able to afford it…nothing shortens a line quicker than when people don’t get in line in the first place).
But being a customer has an advantage, including getting customer service because you can take your business elsewhere. In Canada you get crappy service and have to take what you are given in terms of appointment times, etc. Not that I want the Oregon Ducks Football you don’t know die hard fan until you meet a Duck fan Shirt What’s more,I will buy this US system, but the Canadian system can very inconvenient to the end customer. I broke my leg several years back and the doctor at the fracture clinic would only see patients between 9 and 11 on Thursdays. It didn’t matter if that time didn’t work for you. And the Thursday that my cast was supposed to come off was a holiday so I had to have it for an extra work. Sometimes free can be inconvenient. We always have the option of taking our business elsewhere if we choose…nothing stopping someone from going to the US for procedures…as long as you’re willing to be a customer and pay for it.
Having said that, our system could be better and should be looking at ways to improve, which may not always be the Oregon Ducks Football you don’t know die hard fan until you meet a Duck fan Shirt What’s more,I will buy this case (at least it’s not always apparent). Yeah but in the states if you have no insurance you pretty much only get “emergency care”. Preventative care and regular appointments don’t happen for people with no insurance. There has been high profile cases here of people not having insurance being kicked out of a hospital and forced to go elsewhere. And high profile cases of people who don’t even bother seeking care at all. Also most of those problems already exist in the current system in the US. Ever visited an ER in a medium to large size city? Wait times are hours. Nurses are totally burnt out. And then when it’s over you get bills from 5 different groups some of which will be “in network” and some who won’t do your bill will be all over the place and you never had a say in any of it.
