Private health insurances are still very popular in countries with “free healthcare” as well. So people end up paying for two healthcare insurances.
Can this model be effective in tiny and rich countries like Sweden? Sure. I mean, 10m population, much easier to pull off. Not so much with 330 million. You know in Sweden a lot of your doctors move here to make more money. There’s no point, what you hear online about healthcare is wrong, we have insurance and just about everyone can get their employers health insurance or government low income insurance. A lot of people pretend we are paying 10,000 bills for a check up which isn’t true. Usually it’s just $25 for an annual visit on most insurances.
