Sometimes I’ll ask my host questions like “do you know where we might be able to find this item locally” or “is there a particular resturant locally you recommend”. I’ll usually also ask about getting there from the airport and while I’m there if I can’t find something I’ll ask the host. I expect them to be available within sociable hours but I don’t expect them to respond to me immediately. Sometimes I’ll message a host on average 1-2 times a day while I’m their and other times I won’t message them the entire stay except to let them know we’ve arrived and we’ve left. AirBnB’s are more expensive than hotels these days and I think it’s reasonable to expect a little personality for the money such as the host being available to answer the odd questions. However I don’t like to badger them and I certainly don’t expect them to act as a tour guide. But a few local tips and recommendations is reasonable enough I think
