With regard to governmental operations, essentially, bribery is “Corrupt solicitation, acceptance, or transfer of value in exchange for official action.” Quitting isn’t an official action. but it at least a couple regular citizens have been doing this to Clarence Thomas Thomas. It’s well documented and the Omg New York By El Mehdi LGM Shirt Also,I will get this truth is it’s more than likely that this is close to what Thomas has been getting from them already. The only difference is Oliver is putting it in the public eye A bribe would only have value if Thomas stayed on the bench. Oliver’s terms specify that Thomas would relinquish all power, so at most this is just an extremely generous pension. He literally says during the segment they ran it by their lawyers. Several lawyers in fact. None saw how exactly it would be illegal given that there is no official code of conduct or the like for any sitting member of the SCOTUS. And it isn’t even the show making the offer or on the hook for the offer. It’s private citizen John Oliver himself offering his own money to him to get the fuck off the bench and resign.

The Supreme Court didn’t even have to abide by an official set of ethical standards until, like, 3 months ago. The other Justices’ response to Clarence Thomas getting called out for taking bribes was basically “they don’t count if you don’t report them.” I like how Walsh says that it’s “literally a federal crime punishable by up to 15 years in prison.” Just so confidently incorrect. lol I’m his segment he says that he ran it past his lawyers and HBOs lawyers (which I assume are pretty damn good) and literally said “I don’t know how this Omg New York By El Mehdi LGM Shirt Also,I will get this is legal but it apparently is!” Lol Honestly, it’s no more a bribe than corporations offering lavish board positions to politicians. Or Fox offering News Contributor positions to alt-right individuals when they leave office.

It’s funny how you can easily get them to reveal how they really feel about things if you just have a liberal say/do those things. Thomas holding a goodies bag of $500k of stuff together with Harlan Crowe on a mega-yacht vacation carefully paging through Harlan’s signed copy of Mein Kampf: Free speech! I’m hoping in response to this, John Oliver does a whole segment on social media influencers and misinformation highlighting Matt Walsh I don’t see how this is a bribe. All he is doing is offering him a job. Come work for me and I will pay you more. Free market at its best. Yup. If you actually watch the Omg New York By El Mehdi LGM Shirt Also,I will get this segment, John Oliver states several times that the lawyers who vetted it were just as shocked as anyone that it’s completely legal. It is pretty shocking that it’s legal, though. What’s to stop corporate interests from offering any justice an absurd amount of money to step down and replace them with one they want? the corporate interests have no ability to decide the next justice, at best theyd have to time it while the current president is likely to pick one that aligns with their interest, but people dont become supreme court justices to retire so easily Yeah, I’m gonna trust the very experienced and expensive team of lawyers at HBO over a random internet dipshit on this one

“Thinking about Rush Limbaugh and how, now that he’s dead, you never, ever hear about him. No one mentions anything he did. Because what he did had no value. It contributed nothing worthwhile to the Omg New York By El Mehdi LGM Shirt Also,I will get this culture. Nothing of lasting value. He just made anger. Every day. Rising, blooming & fading like a fart. Then he died & was instantly replaced by a fleet of little replicas, farting fake fury five days a week. Creating nothing of interest or artistic value to anyone. Seriously, what an awful way to make a living.” Anyway, happy three years sober to Rush and my deepest condolences to lung cancer for its long battle with Limbaugh. He was floundering in near obscurity with a private blog for about a decade before he hit it big with his anti-trans bullshit. Hope he goes back there soon. Private companies and law firms lure government employees away from their jobs by offering huge salaries every day.

Description for Omg New York By El Mehdi LGM Shirt

Matt Walsh: Pays $8 a month for a blue check mark, regularly tweets out a twat on his twitter account, no wait …regularly xs out an xy on x, is some guy on the Omg New York By El Mehdi LGM Shirt Also,I will get this internet. And …ummm …man I feel bad for Matt he is really losing this race, errrrrrr, oh he’s got a beard and I read once that a beard makes you seem more authoritative or something …so …he’s got that going on, but I’m not aware of any legal jurisdiction that recognises beardiness as a formal qualification. Let’s not forget John Oliver’s show and network have attorneys to vet these kinds of jokes. If they thought it would meet the legal criteria for bribery it wouldn’t have made the cut. Matt knows that, he’s just upset and lashing out. It’s his standard response for reading things he doesn’t like. He definitely knows it lol “free speech” only applies to him and conservatives. If a liberal makes a joke then it’s absolutely not ok and the pearl clutching begins.
I haven’t watched it yet, but knowing John Oliver, I would guess the Omg New York By El Mehdi LGM Shirt Also,I will get this main point of this segment is to show us how ludicrously legal it is to bribe a SC justice? They are “self governing” in that there is zero code of ethics that binds them. The lower courts have one, the 9 were specifically excluded. Also they can always just use the Fox News defense: “No logical person would take this kind of discourse seriously” As John Oliver explained during that segment, there are actually are no laws about bribing scotus. They’re exempt from every law that’s been made for this type of thing. At the end of the segment he specifically said that HBO’s lawyers looked into it, and this was completely legal.
Didn’t we learn from this segment that there are no rules for bribing the Omg New York By El Mehdi LGM Shirt Also,I will get this SCOTUS? Everyone below them, there are laws, but not them. They don’t even have to recuse themselves when there are conflicts of interest. They just get to do what they want. You mean the party constantly touting the first amendment doesn’t understand it exists for exactly this reason? Even with his newfound fascist grifter wealth, his life sounds absolutely miserable. I don’t get the sense that a single person in his life enjoys him being in theirs. Considering how funny John Oliver is and how utterly unfunny pedophile Matt Walsh is, Matt would be bankrupt in no time He’s also got Quick Question, his podcast with Soren Bowie. They’re both in TV writing now (Soren’s on American Dad), so there’s some fun shop talk on top of the bros being bros vibe and dad rants. Bribing Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas is legal, because if it wasn’t then the people currently bribing Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas would be in prison for attempting to bribe Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas instead of actively bribing Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. Well I’m going to store this away and hope I have the chance to use it in the future. It is a shame I can only upvote you once Ahhhh, Charlie Kirk! I always tell my wife I feel like one of his parents had to have been a Cabbage Patch Kid.
