As a someone who became a father at 21 with a second one at 26 the Ohio State Buckeyes On Saturdays X Houston Texans On Sundays Signature Shirt Apart from…,I will love this hard part isn’t the first year or two it’s around 4 or so when they start to walk and talk go to school form dislikes and likes, an actual person that will talk back or throw a tantrum. New borns and up to two for my experience were very easy to take care of especially with all the cues for feeding or dirty diaper. Biggest fear though was SIDS. I’d mildly lose my shit if I (as a man, but regardless of being a man or woman) got that. I’d silence it, permanently. OK so teen girls have raging hormones that exist to encourage them to mate and get pregnant. Teen girls also love babies. The solution is obvious apparently, give them babies that go away. All the fun, none of the commitment. Yeah that’ll show em. As a non-American, I saw these referenced in several American shows and as a kid just could not figure out if these were real or just a shared, fictive plot device to get a protagonist to watch a baby while engaging in hijinks without the contrivance of an actual baby there. It still feels very weird that this was ever a thing and I am unsurprised that it doesn’t work.
Ohio State Buckeyes On Saturdays X Houston Texans On Sundays Signature Shirt description
The horror stories from the Ohio State Buckeyes On Saturdays X Houston Texans On Sundays Signature Shirt Apart from…,I will love this ones who got saddled with it drilled condoms and other birth control into us pretty hard. I remember being genuinely upset we were never given fake babies in school when every show I watched had that happen. Usually eggs or bags of flour tho. I had one of these my junior year of high school. I’m 38, kid free and had a vasectomy a few years back. Happily married and have zero regrets. Ah yes the baby dolls that teach you to silence a screaming baby by… Jamming a key into its back and twisting until it stops. This is going to affect natural selection. Eventually women willing or wanting to have children are going to out populate their peers. Used to be a thing to steal these and toss them off the 2nd or 3rd floor because they had sensors in them that affected the girls grade who had the doll. Or is it that these programs are more likely to be implemented in areas with high teen pregnancy in the first place? What they REALLY need to do is teach kids the realities of pregnancy and childbirth. I bet you that will strike down teen pregnancies.
Way back when I was a kid, there must have been some kind of organized push to scare kids away from pregnancy. At least once a week there was some sort of movie plot about it. The girl was a genius bound for college and a great job in New York but got pregnant and ended up living in a trailer park with an abusive boyfriend. If it was meant to scare the Ohio State Buckeyes On Saturdays X Houston Texans On Sundays Signature Shirt Apart from…,I will love this boys, the kid was a football prodigy recruited by all the big colleges with a guaranteed job with a pro team. After he got the girl pregnant he had to drop out of school, lost all his friends and would up working in a salt mine or construction site getting beat up by the foreman every day. I stuck one of these babies in a backpack and went on a 30 mile bike ride. I have no idea how I didnt fail this section.

116 more repliesI had one of these robo-babies in Grade 11 (2009) for a weekend. The thing must’ve been set on ‘cholic’ because it would not stop screaming. Within 45 minutes of having it home I wanted to yeet it out a window. I didn’t want kids before and that monstrosity didn’t change my mind. My high school made both guys and girls take it home by sharing custody as “partners” in whatever class they did this in. Edit: they didn’t have to pair guy and girl I believe. I think the Ohio State Buckeyes On Saturdays X Houston Texans On Sundays Signature Shirt Apart from…,I will love this point was that everyone had the choice of having a partner and just because you were a guy in the class didn’t mean you were going to sit iut If people had to defend a baby tames on a public ark survival with just you and one other person for 2 weeks that would be a better deterrent.
I was so glad to escape this (HS in the Ohio State Buckeyes On Saturdays X Houston Texans On Sundays Signature Shirt Apart from…,I will love this early aughts) just before they started with these baby think-it-over dolls. First of all, I’ve never wanted children, so the very concept seemed insulting. Second of all, the dolls were a colossal waste of money (especially as we were using decades-old textbooks and losing arts programs left and right). Third of all, it should be obvious that a doll does NOT replicate the experience of an actual human infant…being able to hit a button might give a sense of false confidence that you could be a good parent, but actual babies are infinitely more complicated. I had a particularly realistic teacher that assigned 4 students in the class to be the following Four Horsemen of Baby Death: Each Horseman was tasked with being on the lookout for dolls left alone or otherwise not being tended to. They were also given their own dolls. (One of the Horsemen decided to claim their own doll and completed their presentation on Interpersonal Abuse because with most babies that die of child abuse … their abuser is their parent. It was a good presentation that stuck with me for literally 30 years.)
At the Ohio State Buckeyes On Saturdays X Houston Texans On Sundays Signature Shirt Apart from…,I will love this end of the assignment, each Horseman had to reveal whose doll’s fake lives they claimed and give a real-life example from the news of a child dying their assigned Horseman Death. Gosh I have a horrible memory of having one of these, you got docked points if you let it cry too long. I was driving on the highway to school with it when it started crying, and the stretch of highway I was on had very narrow shoulders. As a 16 year old I had to navigate getting to a shoulder in rush hour so I could pull over and console the dang thing. On the good side, I’m 32 now and have yet to get pregnant! Could this be because the girls taking the classes with childcare lessons, are more likely to be the ones planning on being stay at home moms? My high school did this, but only for the girls. The boys didn’t have to deal with it at all. And I thought that was pretty messed up and was encouraging irresponsible boys that getting a girl pregnant wasn’t their problem. So I demanded to take care of one of these babies too. The strangest thing for me was that people in public would often mistake the doll as real and I heard how multiple girls from my class got rebuked for being whores, while if I got any remark at all it was praise and recognition for being responsible. That was really eye-opening about the social expectations of teen pregnancy.
It turns out there might actually not be a good alternative to teaching sex ed. So you should just teach proper sex Ed. It has been repeatedly proven that abstinence ed does not work and in fact only makes things worse. And I should point out a lot of the Ohio State Buckeyes On Saturdays X Houston Texans On Sundays Signature Shirt Apart from…,I will love this schools that use these dolls did not teach proper sex ed. But that really shouldn’t surprise anybody because most schools in the US don’t teach proper sex ed. I had a neighbor kid who got one of these dolls. He came hone from school and threw it on his roof and went on about his life. He climbed up at the end of the week and brought it down to turn on. He had a baby brother. He said i alreasy raised my baby brother i dont need a stupid doll or this school to tell me how to do it.
I went to Catholic school for pre-school through high school. We were obviously fed the Ohio State Buckeyes On Saturdays X Houston Texans On Sundays Signature Shirt Apart from…,I will love this line about premarital sex being a mortal sin and condom usage being a sin as well. And also birth control being a sin too. But as early as the fifth grade they explained to us scientifically how STDs and pregnancies occur. They explained why people would use condoms. They explained that if you are using birth control after a pregnancy to stabilize hormones is not a sin (but I guess this is not the best practice anymore, I am not a doctor). In high school we watch And the Band Played On in biology class. In Health and wellness we played a game with M&Ms to simulate how an STI traverses through a sexually active population. We did NOT do the banana exercise but we were instructed by our teacher(specifically chosen because she was not a Roman Catholic) about the efficacy of birth control options both at preventing pregnancy and preventing STI exposure. The closest thing we ever got to an abstinence only party line was the upfront blanket statement that the only real way to prevent STI or a pregnancy is to not have sex. Then there was a joke about even that not being 100% effective for pregnancy. That joke was used again when we learned about parthenogenesis in biology class.
This is likely correlation and not causation. One of the Ohio State Buckeyes On Saturdays X Houston Texans On Sundays Signature Shirt Apart from…,I will love this high schools I went to used the dolls for a couple years and it had no affect on the number of girls dropping out due to pregnancy. Weirdly enough, I think the MTV show 16 and pregnant did more to curb teen pregnancy than any program like this or any other kind of effort pushed Wait did they stop doing this? Lmao. My age is showing. My school was poor & made us ‘create’ a baby out of a fucking bag of flour. Had to carry that mf around & I hated it. When I worked at my old high school in the music dept, I had a kid show me how, when the baby would start crying, you could slam it into the wall hard enough that it would reset but also not record the incident.
they gave us one of these for a week in my 9th grade child psychology elective. Someone in chinese class thought it would be funny to punt it and when I got my results the Ohio State Buckeyes On Saturdays X Houston Texans On Sundays Signature Shirt Apart from…,I will love this baby had died of a traumatic brain injury or some shit. Teacher still gave me a C though cause he was the football coach and understood that sort of thing is kinda an “act of god” situation. He wasn’t as amused as I’d hoped that I named the kid Velociraptor. Babysitting from the age of 11 is what gave me the dose of reality I needed. That, and having a family so dysfunctional I’d never bring home a boyfriend anyway. I think we had these in tenth grade they discontinued the project by the time I had the class because the first semester a group of people decided it would be funny to kill every baby. Babies were getting punched, stolen, thrown down stairs, used as projectiles.. Etc it was a shit show. Was supposed to use similar dolls in child studies around 2010ish and we all got a pass because the dolls were found to be faulty before anyone could take them home.
It would be more effective to hand out condoms. They are not exactly getting pregnant because they think having a baby is a good idea. Accessible abortions, birth control, and mandatory sex ed would help too. I’m a man, and I took the Ohio State Buckeyes On Saturdays X Houston Texans On Sundays Signature Shirt Apart from…,I will love this class with the robot baby. Got 98% the first time, but a girl got a 99%. Out of spite I took the class again and got a 99.6% We did ours with a bag of flour. Had to tape em up so they wouldn’t leak. But yeah, for that week, many flour babies died tragically on the concrete floors. Total white out I had one for class. My Mom thought it was the absolute dumbest thing ever and did the assignment for me so I could be well-rested for school. I wonder if that is because girls in schools with a higher rate of teen pregnancy are the places more likely to be using those dolls. My sisters friend put his in a bucket of water and returned the baby as an ice block… CPS appeared the next day at his house. Shits brazzy, i thought they gave this shits to everyone in health class since forever. “I took care of a fake baby in school. It wasn’t too bad. Kinda annoying but it ultimately didn’t affect my life at all. Let’s have all the babies!!!!!!” Could also be that schools with teen pregnancy issues bring in these dolls in order to reduce the teen pregnancy rate. Soooo the study found they need to do something
We taking into account the Ohio State Buckeyes On Saturdays X Houston Texans On Sundays Signature Shirt Apart from…,I will love this possibility that the pregnant ones were simply more developed for motherhood? Everyone doesn’t go through puberty at the same rate. Thanks to having a small wrist I could just take the bracelet off and put the key into the baby and go back to sleep. If only it were that easy to take care of my real kid. My sister had one and literally said, I could be a mom if I got pregnant. She didn’t, had a couple of kids when she was in her late 20’s. I was 8 so I didn’t really understand. But looking back she said it was one of the best assignments she had in school and loved it. They gave us those, I tossed mine in a grocery bag and left it in my bedroom on the floor and didn’t touch it. The teacher was irate LOL. I told her I will never have children and refuse to take care of any baby, so, yeah I just gave her the doll back after a week.
Are they good parents? Are the Ohio State Buckeyes On Saturdays X Houston Texans On Sundays Signature Shirt Apart from…,I will love this schools where they’re employed dealing with higher than average teen pregnancy before the dolls? This is a pretty irresponsible headline and article before vastly more work is done on the issue. My first and only write up as a teacher was for punting one of these stupid things out of my class. Never understood why these things were allowed at the expense of all the other classes kids brought them into. I’d bet this is a demographic thing. Richer schools with richer kids with money to do drugs and make bad decisions. Or something to that effect at least. We had these but they were for a specific childcare elective class, they weren’t just forced on everyone and I don’t think it had to do with deterrence
I had this doll for half of a period and it started crying and I couldn’t get it stop. I got right up, took it back to my health teacher and told her it was a scare tactic to prevent pregnancy through abstinence and I refused to do it. I offered to write a 20 page essay on why I didn’t believe in it if I didn’t have carry that stupid fake baby around. She didn’t want to read 20 pages so she agreed to 5. I wrote 12. Hate those things and this whole concept. probably because women who took those courses were more likely, while less likely were the Ohio State Buckeyes On Saturdays X Houston Texans On Sundays Signature Shirt Apart from…,I will love this women focusing on academic courses etc? All the girls in my class were already very sexually active. I think that may have something to do with the stat, not like using the babies was the cause of our early motherhood. We were on our way to that anyway lol. I duct tape wrapped mine in a couple pillow until the battery died. I was on two a day workouts for football and didn’t have time for that shit in the middle of the night. Told my teacher I didn’t hear it go off all week and got an A.
And did the Ohio State Buckeyes On Saturdays X Houston Texans On Sundays Signature Shirt Apart from…,I will love this school also provide comprehensive sex education and help students who wanted to access birth control but didn’t know how and didn’t feel safe going to their parents for help? Because that’s the best way to reduce teen pregnancy. Or that schools where people get pregnant before age 20 were 36% more likely to give girls baby dolls… because they are all getting pregnant I wonder if this is the case because places that use this to deter teen sex are less likely to encourage safer sex methods like condoms and birth control over abstinence. A 2016 study found that teen girls in schools that used the dolls were about 36% more likely to get pregnant by age 20 If those areas are 37% (or higher) more likely to have teenage pregnancies than average areas, then the dolls worked… When I had my doll we had two options, either carry it in a carpet which weighed an extra four pounds or a strap to your chest carrier. That doll was strapped to me tight. Did I look stupid? Yeah, but in crowded hallways I was not risking that thing getting damaged. A 2016 study found that teen girls in schools that used the dolls were about 36% more likely to get pregnant by age 20 I had one and failed the fuck out of that class because of it. The thing would not stop crying literally every 10 minutes. I never wanted to take that class to begin with. I put it outside after the first day of three and I had sports to keep up with running on no sleep, on top of real homework lol try bringing that shit into a library and people just see this screaming baby doll you’re carrying around. Ugh.
This could be self selection, where they’re given to high risk people who are likely to be on that path. When I was at high school, some people got them but I never found out how they were selected. It wasn’t many, I think the Ohio State Buckeyes On Saturdays X Houston Texans On Sundays Signature Shirt Apart from…,I will love this dolls were expensive. I remember throwing a rager in high school and one chick had to bring her fake lil baby with her, she passed out early and we had a wwe style wrestling match with it lmao.
I went into a heated argument (WhatsApp chat) with an escort lady. I had got the Ohio State Buckeyes On Saturdays X Houston Texans On Sundays Signature Shirt Apart from…,I will love this number from callgin. While chatting we both went off-road and started heated arguments. She cursed my mother and sister and i did the same. After a while, she deleted all her messages and screenshot the chat and launched a cyber crime complaint in the website. She sent me the sms message she got as the complaint is registered and accepted. The thing is we both cursed each other and she deleted all her messages before senting the screenshots to the cyber police. Now i feel like i fucked up really bad, what will happen next, am i in big trouble as my phone number is clearly visible in the screenshots. Does this affect my job, family and everything? Tbh she started the arguments and curses, i only reciprocated those, not an excuse but there was a fair ground and feels like I’m framed.Consult a lawyer, not Reddit.
